First off, the teachers always choose favorites. Second off, the gym teacher literally rules the school. The teachers get so mad for anything, for example if a kid is running around during recess as the kid should, he would get in trouble. This school is literally the same as a public school or worse. Ever since I started this school all the teachers and students have treated me horribly despite the fact that I am respectful. Also, in the winter; the classrooms get too cold and in the summer, they get extremely hot; to the extent that it is uncomfortable to learn. The safety of this school is ok. One time the school added me to tutoring classes (without my parents permission), which I didn't even need because I was on the honor roll. The tutoring sucked. I was in 5th grade learning things from 1st grade. After leaving this school, I feel like I wasted my childhood constantly feeling left out by other students and feeling as if I am not good enough for the teachers. Please! Take your child to a school that is NOT in throggs neck because they are all corrupted. Also the new principal has no control over the school like it has gotten so bad.

St. Benedict's School is the best Catholic School in the Bronx. Hands down. Our Principal, Ray Vitiello, is amazing! He doesn't only know each student by name, but he also knows every single student's strengths and weaknesses. He cares about his students and it shows! Mr. Vitiello is a hands-on leader who truly cares about his families. He has done AMAZING things for the school. The office staff and the teachers are all wonderful!SBS was digital way before COVID and way before the other private schools in the area. The children in grades 5-8 have been familiar with the google suite of classroom tools that are used in high school, years before COVID happened and everyone else went digital. The athletic program is fantastic. Lots of school spirit, thanks to the efforts of the Athletic Director - Mr. Piacquadio - and the support he receives from the administration.More importantly, SBS is a nurturing, close-knit family. It is a safe and loving environment that is run closely with the parish and the wonderful Pastor Father Norton. I've been a parent at SBS for many years, and I can say that I absolutely LOVE every faculty member and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this school.

St. Benedict is a great school with great teachers and great principal. One of the things that bothers me is that during recess the kids are separated by gender and not able to run around and play what. they want. They either have to play what they say or sit down. Public schools make a big deal about having kids run around and being active and this school does not want them to run around or play certain games out of fear of getting hurt which is ridiculous. They have parents who volunteer to watch them during lunch and recess and some are too busy talking to each other and don't even watch the kids or if a kid gets hit by a ball or runs they will have the kids sit.

Saint Benedict is filled with people that give their heart and soul to making the place better. The teachers have been working hard to reach all the children with numerous afterschool clubs and activities. The sports program works really hard to improve the skills of the athletes with dedicated alumni. The sports director works hard to organize spirt days and fundraisers to raise school spirit and get people excited about sports in the school. Volleyball has been a great addition to the school by Mr. P because my daughter never had any interest in playing basketball at the school. If you are looking for a happy faculty, a hands on principal, and a school that is more like a home, then Saint Benedict is the place for you.

I love this school... i went to a Catholic grammar school in this area and vowed never to send my child to one when the time came.. we enrolled our son in St Benedict's pre- k and have NEVER LOOKED BACK!!! lets start with Ms A our principal is hands on with every child in every grade, great balance of compassion, sensible, strictness, motherly, administrator, and everything in between. our son is in fourth grade and the teachers have been great. Each one has helped him flourish academically, and personally growing into a fine young boy... the church is as good as the school Father Norton takes care of his Parish and it comes through just speaking to him... his Masses are great, the kids love him love the 930am Sunday mass. He involves all the younger kids and provide a great foundation to continue going to church long after they leave school.. If you want your child to get a great education in a Catholic school that when you drop them off you feel like they are with family then come to St Benedicts.. Also great aftercare program for parents who work... great sports program great coaches great school, Staff, Parish and fellow students. If you can get your child in this school do it

Saint Benedict School is everything you can imagine and more. The teachers are great and they seem like a closely knit family. The school also offers great after school activities such as Pokemon club, Art club, Chess club, Video club and many more. The basketball program is filled with former graduates that are back to coach. The gym also went through a bit of a facelift after a ton of generous donations from alums. This place screams family atmosphere and if you don't believe me, see it for yourself.

St. Benedict's truly is the best school in the bronx by far! If you want you and your child to be happy and learn from teachers that love their jobs, you have to check out SB! I had my child in a pricey, "name school" on the water, we were miserable due to teachers who just did not want to be there and hours upon hours of homework!!! Let your child spend a day and let them see the difference right away! Don't be like me and waste years being unhappy at another school!

I thought very thing I heard about this school was just hype. I am sorry I thought that way and wasted the first few years of my child's education at another Catholic school in the Bronx. St. Benedicts is truly a wonderful place!!! We were made to feel like part of the family from day one. EVery activity, every event, from top to bottom is an A class effort. I am proud to be a St. Benedict's parent!!!!!!!

This is my sons second year at St. Benedict's. The school is wonderful. I went to this school 25 years ago so when it was time to choose a school for my son, I had to check it out. The improvement are astounding. The Principal is wonderful. Very hands on. The students all love her and the staff. Walking in in the mornings, you can see the connection between the students and staff. I feel that makes a huge difference in a child's willingness to learn. the curriculum is challenging and will prepare the students for moving ahead in life.
