They started this phone box rule this year, and made students put their phones up on the first week of school. As soon as you enter the classroom you have to put your phone up even when it's still passing period, and the class hasn't even started yet. They don't allow headphones at all you can't even plug your headphones into your computer if you have to watch a certain Youtube video on how to do an assignment, and they block literally everything even websites that are actually helpful. I see why kids are skipping class more. The admin thought they found a solution for more kids to learn when really they just created more problems in this school. Why do you think more students skip class? Apparently you have to sit there when you finish your work because they block all the websites for no reason. I understand websites that have a virus but most of the websites don't even have a virus and yet the website is blocked. I would not recommend this school at all

What is this school it’s 43 degrees out and I got here 30 minutes before my first class and they force you to either walk around the school or sit outside my 3 day of school and someone brought a gun and apparently that happens often I didn’t feel good one day and they said I couldn’t go home unless I had a fever and if you are sick for more than 3 periods you need a doctors note saying why you weren’t there so if your sick you have to spend money on a appointment so somebody can tell you your sick even though you already know I asked a security guard where one of my classes was and he told me to get a tardy pass and didn’t tell me where it was teachers will slam the door in your face if you were late even if you were by 10 seconds even if you ran they never told me you can’t wear a hat even though I was wearing one when I walked in to sign up for the school and I walked in to the school on my first day and the security guard started yelling at me like I had a gun and I see janitors but there not doing anything so either they need to work or get fired because I can’t use the bathrooms because only one stall you can use because the other doors don’t work and the one stall that works is covered in pee I wish I could tell more people about how bad it is here the only good thing about this school is the extracurricular activity’s and the people you meet there but that is almost not worth it

My Children have been in the district for over 15 years between them. My oldest was able to start college while still in High school and is graduating with a Bachelors within 3 years from graduating and my second child is further along than the first. It is very diverse and many offerings for almost any skillset or need

I request to see the Pinciple over 10 times never had a meeting with him. I was told by the front office staff that he is always off campus in meetings. The city has one high school it's hard to believe that he has that much work off campus. I have seen videos of students fighting in the bathrooms when I asked my son how this happens he said every one agrees to not make noise during the fight teachers don't check bathrooms. Most of the staff sends their kids to Belton ISD. Temple high has a thrift problem especially in the locker rooms. phones, head phones and shoes get stolen everyday any thing of value can get stolen. It's sad to say the a small town with one high school can not produce a great learning environment. The upper middle class and rich just move over to the next small town that is 20 mins away.

We have two children at Temple high, and we are very pleased with the offering of a variety of courses, great teachers who are happy and willing to help the students before or after school, and a very diverse peer group. Many opportunities to find something that interested them; chorus, theater, clubs, sports, etc.

This is my daughter's second year. The counselors are responsive if you need assistance. It's a 5A school, which means it's large, diverse, and full of opportunities if you're looking (fine arts, IB, athletics, career tech, languages, etc.). As with any public high, there are some incidences, but it's really better than a lot of school this size. Tons of spirit and a great place for a teenager to grow up.

This school is NOT a good school for children taking classes other than Pre-ap, ap, and Ib, the "regular" classes are not very easy to concentrate because the Teachers don't teach, they give us (students) packets and say "figure it out." Now how many kids do you really think are going to acctually do the work rather than just copy someone else for the grade? About 10-15% of us (students) will acutally do the work but out of that 10-15% maybe 5% will understand it and be able to do it again. Then after te teachers not teaching us (students) they expect we know how to do it perfectly. Here's a situation for you, I was sitting in class and I look up to see another student selling "weed" in class, the teacher was aware of this and did nothing about it, but yet when someone turns around to ask for a piece of paper he writes them up faster than I've ever seen. Now tell me, do you really want your child going here? If I was a parent, which is surprising to many people in this community that a teenaged girl isn't pregnant or already has a child, I wild find a different school. Maybe Belton High School, or Belton New Tech. I've heard of those to be very pristine schools.

This is a great school of choice for students seeking preparation for college. The AP/IB programs at the school are top notch, not to mention the only school in central Texas to offer it!

Temple High - I think the high school is doing amazing!! Temple has outstanding programs IB/AP, band, and theatre are some of the best in the state. Your always going to have some issues with a large school same as in any town. Temple High and TISD has done a complete turn around and are doing GREAT things. Most complaints that I have seen on these ratings things are usually from teachers who don't like change and frankly 10-20 years ago Temple was in a bad place. Change isn't always accepted but was obviously needed (not to mention that the STATE places most of the guidelines teachers complain about the district has to follow them and make them happen like it or not) and looks like it weeded out some of the ones that were possibly holding some of the positive improvements back. All I know is Temple is a great school, with great leadership (who relates to the kids and teachers), full of extremely talented kids academically, artistically, musically and athletically you name it Temple has it and can help them succeed. Temple needed NEW, part of what was holding it back was OLD Temple . I choose for my son to go to Temple because of the positive things happening that will benefit

As a student, my real rating is 3.5. At T-high, I find myself disappointed with mainstream classes. I have problems with no specific teachers or students, but plenty mainstream kids lack discipline, which is not because of the school, but I've noticed some staff don't try to help them. There's a lot of trouble, and a lot kids that either don't get punished when they ought to, or get punished when they weren't in the wrong. I wish money and skill was put out more evenly between classes, food, equipment and what not, and the staff treated each other, students, and the school itself better. The standard of education is alright at the moment, but scores and graduation seem to be decreasing from what I've seen. I'm not unhappy with the school, I enjoy my classes, but I hope that the problems it has will be fixed.

I have taught here for 20 years but I cant wait to leave. The administration and principal are very out of touch with the needs of the teachers and students. They have made it miserable to teach here. Teachers are leaving in droves and the education of the students is suffering.

Temple High School is not the place to educate your child. The district is administration heavy and ignorant of the needs of students in the classroom. Teachers are not treated well and the administration is always trying to figure out ways to take away benefits. If you are looking for a job as an assistant superintendent you are coming to the right place. If you want a good education for your child, go somewhere else.

While the high school itself is older the district has done a great job in renovations. Temple high school does provide a superior education!!

I've taught at Temple High for 24 years. I would not have stayed here if I didn't love it! At Temple, we offer so many programs for students to get involved in. We have academic programs such as IB, AP & dual credit for those who need challenging. We have A+ & Grand Central station for the kids who need some extra help in their classes. We also have outstanding Fine Arts programs and sports teams. I'm so proud of our students and continue to be excited to be part of a great teaching staff.

I'm glad my kids go to Temple High. The great thing about Temple is is diversity. My kids have gone to school with kids of totally different backgrounds than our's and they are richer for it. Temple offers a huge variety of classes, programs and ways for kids to get involved.

I graduated from Temple High School and have been teaching here very happily for almost 15 years. My children attend Temple schools. Temple is a great community and school district that offers a lot of wonderful things for all of its citizens and students! I love Temple High School, the students, and faculty!
