My daughter is traumatized because of the vaping situation. She cannot sleep and she does not eat. I took her to a doctor. She is clearly traumatized. It’s unacceptable how the school is treating others differentBecause of their skin race second the principle here is unacceptable. Every time a kid tries telling her the truth. She believes the others that is unacceptable for this and I’m planning on changing my daughter into the rest of you guys who are planning to enroll your students here or your children. You should think about it twice this school is trash. The learning here is OK but the safety and care for others is unacceptable for their safety, the teachers treat the kids like trash. My daughter comes home, complaining about how her teacher is so mean to her and the kids here and has no manners and they swear at her all the time.

I would rate my overall experience at this school 5 out of 5 stars. Every school needs some refining and some need more than others. I'm happy to say this school works on refining and improving itself everyday, every semester and each year.

This school needs a revolution.Principles live in denial excepting of a horrible job that teachers are doing. Starting first grade there is a high percentage of repeat student in each classroom.Talk about a school safety for kids ..... " there is non" My son when school here for one year they offered him to repeat his great next year which I declined and moved him to a different school and he perfectly catches up with rest of the classroom in higher great in a month Kids get left out by the street after school till their parents pick them up And who knows what happen if the parents are late STAY AWAY FROM SENTING YOUR JID TO THUS SCHOOL

Before enrolling my daughter at Tarzana, I was a little wary of it after reading some of the previous reviews. I ended up enrolling her because it didn't work out with the lottery at the local Charter schools. But I am glad I did! Thanks to Mrs. Tate with Creative Kids (a wonderful after-school program), I had a great first impression of the school. She was kind enough to give me a brief tour and gave me her honest opinion about the school as a whole. She had really great things, not because she had to, but because she genuinely felt that way.My daughter is about to wrap up 1st grade there, and I have had mostly good experiences with the school, staff and teachers. It's not a perfect school. It has its flaws, but for the most part I am pleased with things are handled there. They care a great deal about the kids' education and well-being. Most of all, my daughter has been very happy there. And that is enough proof for me that it is a good school. They have been really good to her and that makes me happy. I definitely look forward to the coming years at Tarzana Elementary.

I really like the administration here at Tarzana but I think that theres a cultural divide. My daughter has been there for almost one year and has yet to make a friend. She not a trouble maker, yet quiet and she has been bullied several times. It hurts my heart to know that the parents of these kids do not educate their kids on how to be good humans regardless of ethnicity or gender. I miss the private schools just because the kids were a lot kinder. The parents don't speak nor do they try to be apart of the community, they just speak in their native language and feel that thats okay..If you don't want to be apart of the solution (a community) then you're apart of the problem (the divide) not a place where you can set up your own little world and exclude everyone else that does not look or speak as you do. Come together please for the sake of our children and our community.

They should improve more on faculty & administration. Focus more on every child safety & learning techniques , more productive , more efficient and tangible teaching.

I like the school. The teachers are great. Ms Inbar, Romay an Faraji. The only complaint I have is Dr Lee could do more and quickly when several parents complain about certain problem children.Because of that issue last year three of my neighbors moved their kids to Calvert elem.

Great school. My son attended K-5 at Tarzana. All of his teachers were dedicated and hardworking and cared deeply. I think I will miss Tarzana more than my son will. Dr. Lee is a great principal. Can't say enough about the teachers: Gibson, Romay, Ilger, Farraji, Khotsikian, etc. All the great support staff. Tarzana rocks!

Im very lucky to send my daughter to this school, the teacher's staff are very enganged with the kids and the parents. My daughter was very happy on her first year in K, now she is ready for first grade, she can't wait to back to the school again!!

This is a terrible school!!The bullying is unbelievable ! They have supervisors on the playground who should be watching the kids, instead they are ignoring the children who are being bullied! All the supervisors look like if they don't want to be at work! If they are that tired of hearing children's complaints they need to get another job! The principle needs to really correct all the yard supervisors and remind them their job title!! I don't think anyone in this school realizes bullying traumatizes kids for life !! Perhaps they need to start with kindergarten yard supervisors to the upper grades! I've seen some great teachers in this school so I'm not giving them the one star they deserve more. The Kindergarten playground is just as bad on the bullying as upper grades. Don't send your kids to this school ,it's not worth their shinning personalities being destroyed by yard supervisors from K-5 letting these bully's get away with this!!

Tarzana Elementary is a wonderful neighborhood school with dedicated teachers and a staff working well with each other. The students are the most important focus of each of them. The care for the well being of each student is so evident all over the campus.

Tarzana is a school filled with a diverse student poplulation and opportunities for all to grow academically and artistically!!! My children have loved being at Tarzana. They enjoy their teachers and the suppoort staff who are always there to help them. I have enjoyed the parent meetings and opportunities to learn more about the school and support for my children. I have worked in several schools as a teacher and I do have to admit that I am fortunate to be in an environment with such dedicated professionals who really care about their students, their profession, and the community they work in.

Do not sent your kids to this school!!! First of all it's a PI school and you can choose a different one by law. Check out the Choices program. You will even be provided free transportation to and from school. I had a very bad experience at that school. The only true professionals there are the school psychologist and administrators. But your kid and you will have to deal with unqualified mean teachers. Who will be making inappropriate comments about you and your kid and will try to ruin your kids' future. Also, they won't teach your kid anything but would expect him/her to know all the answers. This just doesn't make any sense. Oh well, you have been warned...
