I think the teacher's in this school have probably had enough with the disruptive children and sometimes take it out on the children who actually want to learn. They have no control over the kid's who's behavior are a hindrance to children who are trying to learn. Some children have to bring ear buds or headphones to class because of other students behaviors and how loud the others students are in order for them to focus on their work. Some teachers show favoritism to certain students. They dismiss when a child is actually being bullied when they tell them. I understand that you can't stop everything and it is also up to the parents as well to discipline their children about their behavior in school. Even the administrators and lunch room monitors show favoritism or treat other students differently because they know specific students and isolate or dismiss the other students who are different and who are trying to do what's right. We all may have been bullied in childhood and even in our adult lives. But, is it okay to have those same things happen to your child? Even after trying to be there for your child, giving them advice and talking to the teachers at the school and your efforts are still unheard? Why should my child be deprived of their education because teachers and other students lack discipline? Parents want to send their children to school to learn and interact with other children to grow and develop positive friendships for their self-esteem and social development. Children should not be filled with anxiety, feel unsafe, or have their concerns are not heard when they go to school. They need teachers and mentors to actually help students and parents need to step up and help the teachers with their children.

Lockhart has so much potential and it's only getting better as the years continue. I'm looking forward to the cooking club in 2016.

At the summer program offered at Lockhart Elementary, Jana researched butterflies and their habitats, created a schematic, and built a certified butterfly garden. Each day she shared all kinds of details about her new experiences. In the classroom she engaged in discussions that made it possible for her to reflect and make comparisons. This was excellent opportunity for her to be creative and exercise critical thinking skills in a real situation. She is very excited about starting her school year at Lockhart Elementary and I can't wait to hear about her new adventures. I am thankful for the teachers and staff members that made this program possible. I truly believe that programs like this are springboards to academic success. This program was empowering her as an independent learner. I am so very grateful!

Lockhart Creative Science Centre provides opportunities for students to problem solve to engineer the future. The outdoor science labs are amazing. Students learn how to compost, build and maintain a butterfly garden and grow plants in a hydroponics garden.
