The teachers, principle, social work, and support staff have been great with my son. His academics are always communicated to me, his social and mental health needs are met. Complimentary to Parent involvement with Great communication.Just wish he got a bus..

I removed my child from this school. The principal Gloria Waite is what made me decide to take my child out. She's condescending, rude, and thinks she's better than others. Any teachers that were there for years and years before her, landed up going to other schools because of the way she treats people. Once Gloria Waite became principal the school went down hill. Of course it doesn't help that Addison Davis is running things either, taxes went up so the school board could address issues such as their broken heating and cooling systems, majority of schools have not even had that addressed. Children go to school and the classrooms are cold because nothing has been fixed. You call the school board and ask to speak to someone, a secretary there is rude , tells you to explain why you are calling and in her own words " So I can deem weather your call is relevant to have a certain person call you back or just to dismiss you". With a school board like that, no wonder there are principles like Gloria Waite in positions of power especially over children that do not need to hold the position they are in. If you're looking for understanding, respect or you or your child to be treated fairly, I'd avoid Clair Mel elementary at all costs. I feel bad for the parents who have no choice but to leave their child at Clair Mel Elementary for reasons such as transportation, etc.. Since Gloria Waite has taken over, the score for the school has dropped tremendously and has never improved over the years as well. Best thing I did was take my child out of this school, I have no regrets and have been very pleased with the school I did chose. I have to drive my child but it's worth it. All the great teachers that made differences in children's lives have left this school, no one wants to work under a tyranny. Also just to clarify my child is a straight A student with no behavioral problems. In case someone cares to know a little background. I'm not a parent who has a child with behavioral problems /disabilities and chooses to blame others rather than get help for my child, the problem here lays with the school and who is running it. Hoping the best for all parents and children. I hope this will help you in some shape or form.
