I currently go here and the only problems are the students everything else is great it the type of people that go here most students are nice like me but others respect no one and only care about themselves they mostly pick on special needs kids or who they think are different (to them everyone but their friends are different) I have anxiety, depression, and PTSD and I'm picked on for that if you send your kid here be careful about the students

Went to this school from 2nd-9th grade. Only a few junior high teachers seem to care about students. The bathrooms do not have doors, and the stalls don't lock. Sinks are broken and so are hand dryers. One of the teachers shoved me against a locker and held me by my throat after coming out of lunch. My phone was taken from me multiple times while put away in my pocket. Some of the teachers made me and other students very uncomfortable. Some teachers try to push political views over students. The curriculum is fairly good and challenging at times, however, a few teachers are not active in helping the class or individual students when they are not fully understanding topics. There are also no resources at the school to help with mental health.

A lot of people hate school, but I'm one of those students who love it. SAA is probably one of the best schools I could have gone too and it's really fun. I really do feel that I learn a lot of things and that I can apply them to my life. I am almost sad that I am leaving SAA this year and wish I could be in this school forever. All the after school clubs are fun, a lot of people are nice and it's really easy to fit in. There are no complaits I have about this school because the school administration are really trying there best to make the school better and better. I love most of the teachers at the school too. Overall, this is an amazing school I love.

There is always kids vaping in the bathroom and the teachers never grade your stuff in time so you get a low grade

WE loved SAA! Less students per teacher than other schools. The many course selections went above and beyond! Adequately prepared my students for high school and NUAMES. What a perfect fit for each of my children who had very different needs and talents. SAA is excellent for students with learning differences. They schedule in study hall or options class so kids don't get behind, in addition to special ed. The Band program was the best. Mr Whipple is AMAZING. Davis District could learn a thing or two from this school. Admin. was top notch. My children said they have the best school lunch ever! Thought I'd never here that.

It's been a wonderful experience at SAA. I firmly believe that our daughter would not be in the position she is in if she wasn't attending SAA. They've helped identify some things preventing her from learning quickly and have been able to teach her in a way that's effective for her, not just effective because some state law said it was the effective way to teach. Could not be happier with our experience.

Working with the school you get to see how the staff cares about the kids and families

I went to kindergarten the first year that this school opened and went all the way K-9 there. I was one of the first to experience every grade of the school, and I don't regret going there at all!! Loved my teachers and made tons of friends, it got me prepared to take harder classes in high school, including college classes. The teachers were always caring, respectful, and willing to put forth a lot of effort to help you. I always knew that i could turn to any of the teachers if I had a problem. I also had many opportunities to participate in all the school offered. I was part of Student body, Tech crew, cross country, and lots of other things. I got to know practically everyone in my grade, and the grades around me. Had a wonderful time and learned lots of great life skills! Highly recommend this school to anyone who is considering sending their kids there!

I attended Syracuse Arts Academy for nine years and absolutely loved it! The teachers take the time to know their students and help them individually. I felt prepared for high school and college courses. SAA was my dragon family.

Overall the experience has been alright. We have had experiences with some teachers that do not seem to care about teaching though and blame not having grades in on how busy their personal lives are. Everyone is busy! A teacher should not be sending out emails claiming that grading is not done due to painting a friends home over the weekend. The scheduling at the junior high is ALWAYS a mess. I have three children who have attended for nearly three years, my oldest in eighth grade. We have had to change his schedule for the past two years in junior high in order to get him out of classes he had absolutely no interest in and did not request. I also disagree with changing teachers in core subjects half-way through the school year. A core subject should be with the same teacher the entire year, an elective should change. I would also like to see more advanced classes and a different language besides Spanish. What is the point of offering Spanish I to a seventh or eighth grader if there is not a continuation of the class until high school? Basically, the student would have to start over.

We have two kids with very different educational needs. My 9 year old has ADHD and struggles to keep up, and my 7 year old is extremely gifted in academics. I've felt like the school has worked really well with the needs of my ADHD child and getting her medication to her when needed, as well as keeping us informed if she doesn't turn things in. She stays engaged in the classroom and made friends easily when she started half way through the year. We have been very pleased. We have always worked with her at home a lot, but she has progressed rather quickly since starting at SAA. For my 7 year old, we were dithering about putting him in the gifted program in the school district or skipping a grade so that he could actually learn new things at school. We ended up putting him in SAA because we felt this school could meet the needs of both our kids. Each classroom has "leveled learning" which divides kids into groups according to understanding and ability--for each subject--so that the more advanced kids can still be challenged and the ones that are behind can catch up. My son has FINALLY stopped saying "nothing" when I ask him what he learned in school that day. For example in spelling: Group 1 will just be required to know how to spell the word. Group 2 will need to know how to spell it AND the definition. Group 3 will need to know how to spell it, the definition, and how to use it in a sentence (verbally). Group 4 will need to spell it,define it, and write it in a sentence-using correct capitalization and punctuation. All groups learn the same subject matter, but each group will be held accountable for a different level of mastery. Communication has been superb--borderline excessive--on all levels. We get emails from each of the kids' teachers several times a week as well as from the administration. This is very helpful as there always seems to be something going on at the school for one reason or another. Overall, we are very pleased at the outcome for both of our children and we will be continuing there through elementary school and hopefully junior high!

My daughter loved Syracuse Arts Academy. She attended the Junior High campus for 7th grade. She dearly loved every single one of her teachers, and the administration. I did as well! Mr. Pfister & Mr. Bryant ("Mr. Matty") are hands down the best Principal and Vice Principal ever! We also were extremely well served by Jenny and LeAnn in the front office! They are an asset to this amazing school for sure! We are a military family and sadly must move on to our next assignment. If you're considering this school, trust me it's an amazing place to send your kids!!!

Syracuse arts academy is one of the best schools. My kid was in kindergarten at Antelope campus. It was a great experience and the kid's reading and math skills have developed tremendously. I had no bad experiences at all

I don't like the way this school is run. IEP students are falling through the cracks and their needs are not being met.

We love this school. My children's reading levels and comprehension have improved by leaps and bounds since we transferred here. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff can't be beat

I gave this school 3 stars because my kids like it. To me that is what is most important. However, i dont care for some of the staff. My concerns about my children have been basically brushed aside. I feel they dont care what parents think. I understand and am not asking for special treatment for my kids but they should take into account the parents concerns and not just blow us off or give us RUDE responses. That is no way to treat a parent. Im not sure if they will comtinue going there. That is something we need to think about.

I love this school! There are problems just like any other school but over all I am so glad my kids go here. I have a 3rd and 2nd grader and my oldest has been here since kindergarten. My oldest has speical needs and the school has done so much to help him. They have helped me develop his IEP and have had excellent communication with me. He has come so far and the school helps him to learn in ways that work for him. The principal mrs Nixon is excellent! So great with the kids and very easy to talk to. When problems arise she takes action right away and is a great leader. Like other schools it's a hit or miss on the teachers but overall they are excellent. When they are good they are very good. If we ever move I will be very sad to leave this school.

The stuff is fine. Bad parking situation, long lines. Elementary principal is total jerk. Looking for another school for my kids.
