I am now on my third year in this school and so far it has been a great experience. The teachers are all highly experienced and they are such great people. They have such a wide range of AP classes and the counselors really help you prepare for college. Also our sports are on of the top in every category even though we are such a small school. I would highly recommend attending Amador High.

Fantastic! All four of my children graduated from Amador High. The staff is supportive and wonderful. The Musical Theatre program is outstanding. English Dept good. Math Dept needs help. Iverall highly recommend.

I have attended this school for the past three years now and I must say that it is an excellent school. The teachers are attentive and you can really form a bond with them like I have with some of my own teachers. They expect you to do your best and when they see your potential, they will press you until you are working to your full capacity. Overall, this school is great for academics. Highly Reccommend.

Very political place...positives: good principal, several electives offered. Negatives: the English dept, attitude of favoritism on the part of several teachers, too many teachers allow themselves to be distracted from their job by involvement in sports (as coaches). Suggest going to a private school...too bad there isn't one in the area.

My experience is very different than the parents who responded. The teachers are very concerned with each student and my kid got the grade he deserved. The principal is very concerned and interested and I would recommend this school to anyone.

I am currently on my third child going through Amador with one more to go. When my first one attended the attitude of the teaching staff was a joke. Since the current principal began there has been improvement and a number of good teachers have been hired. I do see problems in resource for students with learning issues, it doesn't prepare them for anything except low paying jobs - not college. With the upcoming cutbacks class size is again going to increase, which will put a heavy burden on all teachers - good and bad. Overall my kids have enjoyed the drama, art, history classes, plus playing competitive sports; so there are some good things going on there!
