My daughter loves this school! The school is bigger than most but it just means more friends to choose from! The teachers we have received have been excellent and supportive. The kids here seem really smart and the school has some nice activities for the kids. My daughter loves movie night. Drop off and pick up can get crowded but the cross guards and staff are there to make sure everyone follows the rules.

Stocklmeir is a great elementary school for overall development of a child. They focus on overall growth and stem activities. The teachers are really great and supportive. Various activities planned through year including sports and music. They have really best play structures to keep kids busy throughout the day and after school

Big school, some of the teachers are bad teachers and not doing their job , some teachers in K and first grade really don’t help the kids , nobody cares about that although ethe school and the Cupertino district now about than.principal leave every year , no community atmosphere. Nothing special at thes school, I would choose a different school if I knew that before.

Our impression is that the school administration and many (not all, but many) of the teachers simply do not care about the students. They got their jobs that give tons of holidays (a week in the fall, another week over Thanksgiving, two weeks over Christmas/New Year's, another week in the spring and six weeks over the summer - in addition to all the usual holidays interspersed throughout the school year) and a pretty good paycheck to boot and anything they can do to minimize the amount of work they have to do in return they will do - even at the expense of the kid's education.My wife went to this school when she was growing up. She cannot believe how much it has changed since she was there. She used to be a "proud" graduate of what was considered a top school in the area - now she is embarrassed and frustrated.

Too academic, doesn't see the individual needs. I wish the school was less focus on it's score and more on the kids.

Our daughter attended kinder at Stocklmeir Elementary this year and we are not very happy with the school. Initially, some of the parents told us that the school is too large and that impacts quality - we were not sure how this would be the case but what we've learned is that this is true. The school is very impersonal due to the size of the school. The teacher in our classroom had additional duties at the school district, so we would have substitute teachers at least 1-2 days a week and this happened throughout the year. I realize the need for a teacher to get trained, but this should not impact an entire class of students. Because of all the substitute teachers, we felt that the kids in the class did not really have continuity with teachers and we kept getting mixed feedback from our daughter about the quality of the various subs and their teaching methods. Lesson learnt - find out at the beginning of the year if the teacher in your kids classroom has extended training/district duties and make sure you raise this with the school/district as this can impact students quite severely. Our classroom did at most 1-2 field trips and all other "trips" were local at the school or at the neighboring park. We talk to our friends in other schools in santa clara and cupertino and they all have real field trips. The PTA does not seem to take an active role in funding things that are meaningful for kids. I attended a couple of PTA meetings and the items requested/funded are mostly for upkeep of school facilities vs things that are meaningful for students. I wish I could participate on a more regular basis to do something about this. I feel that this is because of the size of the school and the impersonal nature of the school. Parking and dropoff is a pain as there is very limited parking and you have to dropoff your kid in the classroom vs a supervised dropoff area like some other schools.

The school has some good teachers but the administration is not great. This has affected quality of staff a lot in the last few years. Last year had an attrition of staff, around 20%. The teachers, even those who truly used to care about well being of a child, have to channel their attention to academic benchmarks and worry about test scores. Last 6 years has seen 3 principal changes. Most of the issues are due to uncontrolled growth in size of school. With a team of 9-10 rooms of each grade, teachers cannot work as a team and frustration flows into the classroom as well.

Stocklmeir has been a great experience for my kids and our family's a a whole. We've had wonderful teachers so far and a great administration that really discourages bullying and encourages a positive learning environment. Despite the size, there is a good sense of community at this school and many parents who work very hard to provide nice extra programs for our kids. There are so many cultures at this school and Stocklmeir really embraces the diversity, which is incredibly positive for all of our kids. So glad to be sending my kids to a place where they can have a greater concept of the world around them, while still having pride in their small school community.

I wanted to indicate in this review specifically Mrs. Cummings Kim, 1st grader teach. Mrs. Cummings is what I call a teacher for life, a real educator. She comes every day to class for the children, she cares for their education, well being, got to know each chid with her/his needs. Mrs. Cummings knows how to motivate them as individuals and as a team.

Starting this year my son started going to Stocklmeir school and is in second grade. It has been an incredibly positive experience for us and our son, because he is suddenly so focused in his education and is so motivated to put lot of hard work without any push from me. I would credit his class teacher Ms. Roberts for the encouragement and channeling him in the right direction! I would highly recommend this school.

Through out the years with my kids in Stocklmeir I had seen teachers that have been tired from teaching. They become indiferent. One of those teachers done damage to my daughter's desire to study. And good teachers, especially male teachers are lacking.

My first grader had a wonderful teacher this year. He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. He also encouraged the kids to learn through technology and it turned out to be quite fun and efficient. Each kid received a class book with all the good memories throughout the year. We feel blessed to have had such an awesome teacher.

One parent asked why this school is in Sunnyvale, but is in the Cupertino School District...it depends on where a person lives in Sunnyvale that dictates the district. My daughter is in first grade here and has been going here since Kindergarten. I love both of her teachers so far. Some of the class kids that are disruptive are dealt with fairly and immediately. I for one am very happy about that. My daughter shouldn't be sidetracked by someone else's kid if they're disrupting the classroom. Anyhow, we pay the property taxes and live in the area, so it works out that our home school is an excellent one.

Ok for some - unacceptable for others. Stocklmeir appears to have solid teachers and a well run program but quickly identifies children that needs extra help (or might bring their scores down) and attempts to "encourage" them out of the school. Cupertino district has a reputation for great test scores but it's because they make it nearly impossible for a kids with even minor learning challenges to want to be there. We didn't want to believe this reputation but unfortunately found it to be all too true. As soon as our student was identified with special needs, they quickly scrutinized her every move and she spent more time in the principals office then in class for the most minor of issues. We got the message.

My daughter loves to go to school everyday and she is learning well. I like all the activities this school has running club, music, arts, etc.

This school, like all the other Cupertino Union Schools, teaches to standardized tests. Unfortunately, it's school with approx. 1000 students. Principal is very good (albeit stretched). Teacher quality...very good. Parent involvement: the PTA tends to be a ladies club run mostly by Asian moms.

Great school, very nice teachers & friendly environment. You feel safe to leave your kids here. I strongly recommend this school for any parents who wants to live in Sunnyvale & send kids to Cupertino schools.
