My son is now in his second year at this school. He is non verbal and autistic. from February of this year, to the day of me writing this, he has had 5 incidents where another child has harmed him. he has come home with deep scratches and cuts on his face, as well as large bruises from being tripped. The last incident he was pushed and hit his cheek off the corner of a television stand, leaving a large bruise. I'm lucky if I receive a call or even a note about these. There have been multiple cases where I am stuck on the phone trying to get a hold of someone because my child is covered in scratches with no note or any explanation as to why. My son cant speak, therefore cant advocate for himself or tell me what's wrong, what happened to him, or who did it.

I absolutely love HVE. It has been a positive experience since day one. Every staff member from the principle to the teachers, to the office staff, the school resource officer, etc, anyone that you could encounter are truly amazing.

Poor. I understand they now have a new principal. the former principal seemed to discourage communication between parents & teachers, as well as, coverup any incident that would appear unfavorable to the school regardless of how it impacted the child.

I will not be sending my children here for another year. I think the school is terrible and their curriculum is behind and their test scores have been consistently low. The car rider line is a disgrace and it shows the total incompetence of the leadership. I made my children ride the bus to avoid the chaos in the car rider line. Also the school is mostly outside. The children are sitting outside in extreme weather if they are car riders.

This school is extremely unorganized. The circus they have in the afternoon for car rider pickups has been a disaster for the past three years. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse it does. I really hope they can figure it out at some point for future students my kids will probably be in middle school by the time they get it together. In fact it's such a mess I have enrolled my children in aftercare and will gladly pay $80 a week just to avoid the daily dread of the car rider pick up line. To add the frustration a few of the teachers are very rude to the parents. There is a tactful way to approach and speak to people. We are not criminals at a prison and we are not insubordinate children, we are adults and deserve to be treated as equals. It concerns me if these teachers are talking to parents like this how are they treating our children?

I think this is a great school. My daughter loves going to school every day. I wish all the public schools in the Ocala,Fl area ,were this great. My daughter attended here for one month , and then we moved ,so she unfortunately, had to attend the zoned school in that area. Every day my daughter witnessed a child being bullied. I reported the incidents and nothing was done to stop it. We thankfully had to move back to this area , now she's back in the best school ever,,Harbour View Elementary.

My son is having a lot of issues with this school and so am I. My son is being bullied on the bus and at the school and the teachers seem to be turning a blind eye. even the dean tried to tell me how things happened when she wasn't even there but I was. They have college teachers teaching 6 year old and that is not right on many different levels and they do not take the time or effort to contact the parents with issues 89% of the time. They don't even make accommediations for children with special needs. This is one of the worst schools I have ever seen and recommend if your kid goes here to get them out immediately the bulling is so bad here.

I agree with most of the bad reviews on this school. I cant wait to get my son removed. As my son comes home with huge bruises and the teachers have no clue how it happend because they are there to teach not baby sit as i was told. -F School

My son has had problems with school from day one and this was the first year that he really improved. Not to say he had a perfect year but he did much better than he had previously and I contribute a lot of that inmprovement to his teacher, Julie Boivaire. She went above and beyond to work with my ASD son and help him succeed. I don't really have an opinion of the rest of the school but this teacher really impressed me with the level of caring she exhibited.

Staff is rude and unfriendly. I volunteer often and see how these teachers respond rudely to their students. From what I have seen this school is unorganized and are not equipped properly for our students. The principle is unexperienced and unfriendly, as is the vice principle.

My daughter just turned 5 and her second day of kindergarten was today.When i came to pick her up in this chaotic circus they call the car line, i saw my already confused and scared little girl being yelled at to hurry up and get in line, while being jerked around by the wrist and almost put into a strangers car.At the end of the day, when they are done with school, they treat those kids like cattle.Whatever happened to taking the time and being compassionate.When i dropped her off that same morning, i was told by her teacher that she thought she could have a learning disability.This child can read, write and speak Spanish.Not to mention,it was only her second day at school.She was scared, and instead of them taking the extra time to see what the problem was, they decided to pre-diagnose her with a learning disability.
