We've had nothing but good experiences at SMS. Unsure why the score is so low because the teachers are excellent and the curriculum is what they are teaching in other middle schools.

My son attends this school. I have called and been there multiple times over the past couple years. The ongoing bullying is outrageous and my son suffers daily. I also brought in his 504 plan and it was misplaced and still not being accommodated. I understand they are busy with all the students but when a child has needs and it is in writing, it should be a priority. Instead of accommodating my sons needs, their first response is to give him referrals for some of his actions. They take no interest in helping him with what he was diagnosed with. Extremely frustrated. No recommendations here….

I enjoyed my time at Stuart Middle, students and classes were both good for the most part. One complaint I have is for the Language Arts system at the school, in each grade, each level, the Language Arts is a block class that takes up two periods. On the other hand, my favorite thing about the school is the band program, when I attended 7th and 8th grade there, Mr. Kalwa was the band teacher and under him I exceled. I believe that the band program is a MUST, it is a great way to make friends and because Stuart Middle leads into Jensen Beach Highschool, starting band in Stuart Middle would provide opportunities in the JBHS musical program.

I am writing to express my appreciation for Principal Krakoff's instructional leadership, vision and the school-wide project based learning he is implementing at Stuart Middle School this year during his first year as Principal at Stuart Middle. I brought my concerns to him today regarding block scheduling, student engagement, cooperative learning, and SEL (social emotional learning) objectives at Stuart Middle School (and secondarily wanted to know whether S.T.E.M. was going to be implemented any time soon at the middle school level).Principal Krakoff addressed all of my concerns thoughtfully, cited studies and demonstrated a thorough understanding of what is best practice academically, not just on a local and statewide/national level, but he demonstrated a very informed understanding of what the highest performing schools are doing successfully on a global/international level and what it will take for our students to compete with the best students in other countries. Principal Krakoff cares deeply about our students and is vested in their success academically and emotionally (his own son attends Stuart Middle). I feel extremely fortunate and grateful that my son (and upcoming children) have the opportunity to attend Stuart Middle School under the leadership of Principal Krakoff.

My child did not have a good experience at this school. I do not recommend.

The staff cares more about the dumb dress code than the education and kids. They also care more about the FCATS than actually teaching us. The dress code is ridiculously strict and the principal is worse. Half the reason I transferred to FLVS is because this school is terrible. The staff is bad, and the whole school is just suffocatingly awful. And don't even get me started on the principal, she is possibly the worst of the worst principals. I am surprised the school district has not thrown her out of the office. She is the most unfair, unreasonable principal in the entire universe. And the whole school staff is way too liberal with referrals. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

I am an 8th grader here at SMS. 2 years ago, I moved here and came to SMS in 7th grade. Even though I didn't know anyone, the students and teachers were very welcoming. I now have lots of friends and excellent teachers. I feel that my teachers really want to see me succeed. The school is very clean and organized. The are drugs and cheating in this school, but the education experience makes up for it. I feel very safe at school and very cared for by the staff. There are bad sides though. The teachers watch us like hawks for an untucked shirt or if our pants are too far down. My language arts teacher waits by the door with tardy forms for the pe students to arrive late. She also lets us out late so we get tardy to our next class without sending an email out. Sometimes it seems like the staff care more about dress code and behavior than education. Recently we had a real-life lockdown. My band teacher followed all the procedures and was very stoical through the whole thing. I felt very safe an confident that the staff would keep us protected. Overall, SMS is a good school and it is one of the best schools I could have hoped for.

I feel that this is a great Middle School. My daughter is excited about joining the Band program. They have a lot to offer. It takes parent's to make the time and effort to become part of there student's school. With communication and hard work I feel my daughter will do great! The school staff are very nice and helpful as well! We Love Stuart Middle School. Keep up the good work!!

I sent my child to this school in the hopes that it would be a healthy and challenging learning environment. I regret this decision. The teachers and administration are all but unable to communicate with other adults;the teachers are more concerned about controlling the kids than teaching them.My child called this school a "daycare" because the work, (even in advanced classes) ,is very low level.I would not recommend this school to anyone!
