I'm a volunteer and I see lots of both sides of the issues mentioned in these reviews. 1 Bullying is addressed - but CAN still happenThe school hosts multiple weeks a year where they discuss nothing but bullying. They've brought in speakers and groups with specialties in this area. The school code is not quick to expel unworthy students. Being Christian, they want to offer redemption and mercy. Sometimes this leads to unworthy people being at the school longer than is necessary. Someone in the reviews accused the principal of being "meek". Meekness is not weakness; it is power under control. I've never seen her lose her temper, although she's had many opportunities to do so. Still, she is a scary person to cross. She is not afraid of staff, students, or anyone. She is dead-set on doing what is right for the school.2 Teachers are qualified - but sometimes they run short on experienced educatorsIf you're not aware, there is a teacher shortage in Florida right now. Every school in the state is clamoring for good teachers. The school has locked in some amazing teachers. Both my parents were teachers at various schools across the nation, even winning teaching awards. I know good teachers when I see them. However, about every five to ten years, there's a turnover of staff at some position. This tends to be due to either getting a better job offer (FBCS has mediocre pay) or moving away. This means that at some point a student is going to experience a new hire. The first year for a teacher is very make-or-break. This is often called the "useless year" for teachers on the grounds that they are so green as to be ineffectual as educators. Families at FBCS are likely to experience this at some point. Families at most any Florida school are likely to experience this at some point. That said, I think '23-'24 boasts the most robust cadre of solid, long-haul educators I've seen at the school in the last ten years. 3 The spiritual state of the school is powerful - but not forced down your throatI've never seen an educational environment where Christ is so elevated. Bible is the first lesson for every class every day. They host chapels every week. The staff speaks regularly to the students about their testimonies. The school saw twenty-three students baptized in November. However, this faith, while all-prevailing, is not shoved down your throat. You are not coerced to claim it or live it out beyond the basic code of conduct.

My granddaughter just started in the kindergarten class. From her first tour of the campus we were hooked! The teachers and administration are so kind and loving with each and every student. Car line is organized. Children are HAPPY to go to school! The school looks well kept and clean. Activities are organized. Campus is secure.

I think this is a WONDERFUL school. I have 2 nephews who attend there and they are excelling at every academic subject! I think that this school fosters such a nurturing and caring environment and I would recommend any parent to enroll their children there! 5 stars!

Bullying goes on in this school, they do not hired qualified teachers. Instead of correcting the problem they try to cover it up. I do not recommend this school. Your kid is not safe here.

My experience at First Baptist Christian School has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in their students and their growth as learners. Curriculum adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the student. The teachers tailor instruction and activities to get students excited about learning. The administration is exceptional, the teachers are outstanding, and students are respectful and ready to learn. The office staff and support staff are extraordinary too. First Baptist has a positive spirit that is CONTAGIOUS!

Great School. Most Affordable in the area! Not the fanciest in town, but the most warm, loving and caring.

Teachers are not qualified and most importantly, i hear that they don’t have to be Christians. The teachers are partial to each other’s children and encourage excluding new kids. The teachers do not set a godly dress code and are sloppily dressed with major short skirts, and I feel this reflects on how they conduct themselves, not aligned with bible. They don’t pray before class begins. Recess is outside under the hot sun! No active adult supervision and the one or two teachers facing each other, sitting around talking. My son fell on his back and his his head with huge scrapes and they did not clean the area and only gave him a small bandaid that doesn’t even cover the huge nasty scraped area. I was not notified except with a note sent home, hours adage the fact it happened. My younger one said he saw his brother fell on his head and didn’t get up and was left unnoticed till the teacher there tended to him later. did not tend to me. This school, like many other “Christian” schools here, are terrible. Christian schools need to hire REBORN Christians. Otherwise it’s as you’re paying a ton of money for a public-like school.

I am very happy with this school has been great. Classrooms rooms are small scale so teacher has time to work with every student.

As a grandparent I recommend this school to anyone who would want their child or grandchild to succeed and to get the best education possible. The teaching staff is outstanding. The classes are small which gives students the opportunity to have more one-on-one time with teachers. The academics AR outstanding and I see how my grandchildren are learning so much with each passing day. I love all the volunteer work that is done in the school as well. It's a very positive atmosphere and it's like a family which gives me a very warm feeling about my grandchildren being there. I think what strikes me the most is the fact that they care about each and every student and strive for their success.

It can be good as it was in earlier years in our experience. But if things are going badly for a student, they'd much rather force the student to leave than try to do anything about it.

2 out of 10 As a student from this school I feel seriously let down. I don't feel like I've learned anything, and the teachers treat me unfairly...they are very dismissive, and they simply don't care.

My daughter attended First Baptist Christian School and went on to become a smart, well-rounded woman with two college degrees and a love for her family and community. The curriculum is balanced and children are taught right from wrong, how to function well in society, and all the best academics Martin County has to offer. Now, both of my granddaughters attend! Thank you for an outstanding program, teachers and staff.

Our children attended First Baptist Christian School, have graduated and are now in college. From my perspective as a father it was important my children receive an education founded on biblical principles with a curriculum that prepares them for the future. The teachers at FBCS addressed the education of my children from a biblical perspective and prepared them well for the future.I have always believed that my number one responsibility to my children is to help them develop a relationship with the Lord and to teach them to live a life based on biblical standards. My second greatest responsibility is to prepare them for the realities of our modern economy. The days of being poorly educated and expecting to be able to raise a family is sadly over for most people and opportunities for those who aren't prepared will be even more bleak in days to come. There will always be plenty of opportunity for those prepared to take advantage of available opportunity. Our children attend a top 10 nationally rated public university. Many of their classmates from FBCS also attend the same school where they are still as close as they were in middle school, meeting many times a week and living by biblical standards, from all outward appearances. Our children were blessed to receive numerous scholarships for college. On one occasion my wife and I and our daughter attended a ceremony for recipients of one particular scholarship she received. The ceremony was held at an exclusive Palm Beach County location. We were sitting at a table with a young lady and her parents. She was attending a private school in Palm Beach County where they paid approximately four times as much as we paid for our daughter's education at FBCS. When they found out which college my daughter was attending the young lady had a sad look on her face. As it turns out it was this young ladies dream to attend the university my daughter was accepted into but she was denied entry into the school as were every one of her classmates who applied to the universityMy wife and I are very thankful for the assistance First Baptist Christian School has given us and our children in preparing them for the future. They continue to succeed academically but most importantly their faith is the cornerstone of their lives.

Wonderful school. Teachers are warm and very caring. My children started school here mid semester last year from another Christian school in the area. I saw such a change in their behavior and learning as a result. They enjoyed going to school even though it was hard for them to transfer mid year. The teachers and students did a wonderful job making them feel welcomed and accepted. I am grateful God led me to this school. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a quality Christian education for their children. I value their discipline with love philosophy.
