Middle school is always looked at as the ackward years, but AMS has had a postitive impact on my child’s education. He has developed a love for learning that he didn’t have before middle school. He has grown so much in the three years that he has spent there. My daughter will be starting next year and I can’t wait.

My experience would be rated a 10+. I find this school to be a leader school that other schools in the county follow. They have outstanding teachers and an overwhelmingly supportive admin staff.

I couldn’t give this school a higher rating. Every issue I have had has been dealt with immediately and in a fair and respectful manner.

I have 2 kids, my daughter graduated from here and now attends Clark. My daughter did very well at Anderson and is now taking college level classes. Anderson prepared her well for advanced and college level courses she is only a sophmore in HS. My son is now in 8th grade and is taking 2 high school level classes. He also is taking advanced classes and is doing well. The courses offered are challenging but prepare you well for what's ahead.

We have been at Anderson middle School from 2012 as of now 2015. I have two children one in 7th one in 8th. We have been pleased so far. Both children are excelling. My one daughter is in the Pre-Med Program. My son is in the IT Program. I can't say enough about the school. If you ask questions about your childs education and stay up on what is happen with your child there shouldn't be a problem. There are many after-school programs for any child. The school should get more credit. The administration is excellent . They have three fabulous principal to keep things in line. There are excellents teacher there that they to go up and beyond. You get what you put into your schooling.

My student complains about bullying ,harassment , Racism and teachers. I know some teachers from gifted because my older son was in gifted. My son right now has always been a straight A student and is very smart. Yet they never offered him to go to gifted but he is in advanced. He says its not really advanced because there is so much students that have terrible grades and still are in advanced. Also he has SO MUCH friends and is very popular but racism affects him a little but he ignores most of it. We are Cuban. But the other day he got in a fight! Yes a fight with fists and books and belts. The other student had thrown a ball 3 times to my sons head this year. The fourth time my son knew it was racism and hatred. My son went and said fight me. The other student grabbed a book and tried to hit my son and my son threw couple punches . Then he was hit with a book in the head that's when my son pulled out his belt and started to hit the other student. After the incident my son was suspended but the other student wasn't. My son was not suspended for the belt . He was suspended for saying a bad word during the fight. That does not make sense.

My student has complained about how the bullies and poorly behaved students rule the school and make it difficult for teachers to teach the students who want to learn. It seams that the administration gives no support to the teachers in this respect. My child has survived by just keeping quiet and doing what the teachers ask. She feels that the bad kids get all of the attention. I am looking forward to getting away from this school. Prior to AMS we had good experiences with MC schools. AMS needs a Principal who is more involved and is there for all of the students. The current principal does not seem to recognize the students that follow the rules every day.

Like any school, there are teachers at Anderson that go above and beyond and show true concern for the children and know the importance of education. My only wish is that there were more of them. Out of 7 classes, my daughter has only one truly exceptional teacher. Most of the teachers do not update their class pages frequently and some do not even have theirs activated. If the school wants the parents to be involved, then perhaps they should make sure the teachers are updating their pages, so that we as parents are able to view the lesson material for each class. I hear a lot about bullying amongst the children with little or no intervention by the administration. Although, I believe this occurs in every school, I would like to see a more pronounced anti-bullying stance and program implemented to help prevent it. My feeling is that this school does not take it seriously.

From a parent, Very good school, but like all schools I think you get out what you put in, so if you are prepared to work and listen and do your best then the teachers are with you all the way. Deserves a much higher rating.
