I have had the opportunity to work at Pacelli High School (as a substitute teacher) in a variety of classes and with a variety of students. With over thirty years of teaching experience in public education I was simply amazed with the teaching and learning environment Pacelli has to offer. In every class the students are respectful and are on task. There are systems in place for those students that struggle and teachers are always willing to help those that need assistance as well as motivate students to learn. Personal accountability for behavior and academic success are emphasized. There are no bells and students report to class on time, tardiness does not seem to be an issue. Student involvement in sports, community service and religious worship are all wonderful positive attributes of this school. The staff goes above and beyond to provide opportunities for each student to grow, learn and thrive. I also want to acknowledge the administrative staff and the principal of Pacelli High School for their leadership and support.

This is an amazing school. My son transferred in 5th grade, after struggling in public school for two years. We had moved from out of state and the curriculum in the public school here was what he had learned in K-2. He was "book-marked" for two years, learning nothing new and getting into trouble because he was bored. Pacelli welcomed him with open arms and worked with him to get him back on track. He has thrived here and is now going into High School at Pacelli.I highly recommend Pacellli!

I could not imagine my life without attending Pacelli for the past four years. The class sizes are usually small so everyone knows everyone else. There is also a sense of belonging because teachers take the time to get to know the students and we feel comfortable asking questions even if they seem a little ridiculous. The teachers are there to help us succeed, they don't get paid a whole lot so they must like us for some reason! The students are usually accepting of others. Yes there are "cliques" in the school, but it is such a small school they all kind of overlap and people will be included in several of them at once. There have been some comments about the new J-Term classes and schedule. This year they decided to make J-Term only two weeks, which I thought was a good move. The longest J-Term we had was our first year doing it and it was about 3 weeks long. I would have to agree that some of the class choices are not the greatest for this two week time frame, however there are still very good ones that were not full yet. Parents do have to approve the choices that students make for their J-Term class. The teachers and staff are still trying to figure out good classes to have and how long it should be, remember, it is new to the school. It also does not cost $6,000 to attend Pacelli for one year. The information is available to the public and it is about $4,200 to attend. This money goes to pay for teachers' salary, maintenance of the building, and supplies like books and computers. Pacelli is a private high school so they do NOT receive state funding. They have to make up for that by charging tuition.Pacelli is not without flaws, don't get me wrong, but our new principal is trying to fix the problems that occurred before he was hired. No human being is, was or will be perfect (except Jesus and Mary) and we have to remember that we all make mistakes.I hope this post helps some people understand a little more about Pacelli Catholic High School as it is now and not how it was. And as Fr. says every week at Mass, "and may God bless you!"

From s Parent whose children have attended SPACS since kindegarten now into this INSTITUTION. You pay $6000 plus for literally the most inexperienced teachers in the area to educate your children. Due to teacher unions and county and state wage contracts and poor leadership from the board and administration, this school lost 75% or more of their longtime and/ or most respectable teachers. The teens are VERY clicky and very Un-Christian. The school does not publish its academic testing results in a legitimate or forthcoming fashion. Vague boasts rather than a overall academic standing or comparison to the performance in other area private schools or the public highschool. Information from the Diocese is still the same word for word brochure handed out 10-15 years ago. So the "Recent years of top test scores were years 1995 -1999. Innovative classes? These low test ranking children are given a" J term" for nearly 6 weeks. The days are shortened by TWO ENTIRE HOURS and students have 'guest' (University Work Study Students) come and guide the kids thru their chosen topic that is focused on ALL DAY EVERY DAY for theentire J Term. Topics like: Gaming (video games).

This school is not a good choice to attend if you live in the area. I have attended this school for only a year and already I am wanting to switch to the public school in the area. Not only does it not bring students closer to the faith at all, but turns students away from it. Students and parents really have NO say in what goes on at school. It's all up to the administration at the school which is unfair and bias. Terrible school, terrible student and family satisfaction. The majority of students at Pacelli that I have spoken to want to switch to public school.

The school system is run by a president and he will accomodate the families with money and their unfairness requests. The classrooms are small, the education is good; however, the staff is based on family, friends and alumni. And they have a mayor "click", where is not equal for everyone and extremlly unfair for the new or poor families. The teachers don't challenge the smarter students & over focus on the "slower kids". The athletic director only cares about football and football only. If you have money to the school or are an alumni, your child will play & will start on any sport, regardless of the skills. The AD can't keep quility coaches due to his lack of profecionalism, organizational skills, honesty and simply not qualified for the job. Overall (in my opinion), Pacelli has the potentiol of becoming a great school, but they talk & talk and don't do much to fix their issues.
