It is a very bad school I don’t recommend it . No homework ,also no work in the school . I don’t know where is the observation From the bord of education. No one work hard in this school . Nut free , which is mean you can’t send any food with your son or snack. They can make table or part for allergic kids, but they choose the easier way(to prevent the nut) . In addition the bullying in this school is out of control. The principal is not here never ever saw her. They teach the easier things from the Curriculum , and they ignore the rest . My zone Forced me to be in this bad school.

I went here like 6 years ago and I found this out , Many priple here are just plain rude, The kids are ok but when you actually get to know many people, It ends up as the majority kids here behaviors are not as many people would expect, Kids get bullied, get picked on and get rumors. The teaching is ok but not the kids.

I really am mad at this school. I actually used to go here a year ago, and they literally put my face and name in the yearbook without my permission. I don’t care if they asked my mom, they should always ask me to because I’m not comfortable with these photos and my “name” in the yearbook! Fast forward a year later, people are now bullying me because of my photos in the yearbook! That is just crazy you have to ask for consent to put someone’s face and name on something like that because these bullies can post it on social media and bad stuff can happen all because they didn’t ask for consent to put a students face on a year book, even my mother is mad at this school for putting my photos on the year book, I’m very insecure. And putting my photos in a yearbook that I can’t stop others from looking at is so disappointing and makes me feel a lot more insecure now. So I really don’t think this is a good school, if you’re kid is insecure try to boost their confidence and I don’t think if they have to see a bunch of photos of them in a yearbook without permission isn’t going to help them. It’s so conferencing schools these days don’t care and just put students personal names and photos everywhere now. Wouldn’t recommend.

This school is very cutting edge and up to date , it has some of the best teachers my family has ever had the pleasure of dealing with. It is also very high on the average grade level for the 5 boroughs. It is also in a very safe area with no stores or bus stops to attract more congestion. The principal has always had an open door policy for students and for parents who wish to convey or inquire about their child's needs.

Love the school the staff and administration as well , everyone is so kind and welcoming. I volunteered whenever I could with the PTA function and enjoyed it very much. I can truly say that having 3 kids graduating ( the youngest one this year) from 69 they definitely benefited and I will miss this school.

Overall I am happy with the school. I wish their practices were centered more around working parents. i have already told my child not to expect to get an AWARD because I am unable to attend day or evening meetings often and was saddened at the PIZZA PARTY when the awards were given out, if i knew that I wouldn't have attended that either. I do not have summers off and feel that their summer camp should have the same hours as the normal school day. Why should a working parent be inconvenienced and stressed out as to how they are getting their child to summer camp 8am-2:20pm should be the hours at least. The high cost of the summer camp is also a concern. I am hoping that in the future more creativity and thought will be added to making decisions in regards to the school's activities.

My child is new to this school. On many occasions my requests to get some info from my child's personal file were denied referring to the school policy. I requested a written copy of such policy and was told that it doesn't exist. Now I'm determined to obtain one from the principal and if still get a negative response, will file a complaint with the department of education. This is ridiculous. I was told that I need to get a court order to obtain my son's personal info.

There was no senior trip for the class of 2016. The school handed out a flier about the senior trip but later canceled it without a valid explanation. The kids were sooo disappointed. Kids at lower grads will enjoy the fun and relaxed environment but the focus of the school is not academic. The odd principal seems to care more about the pet animals that she keeps at the school. She is not responsive to emails and phone calls. You need to be in her face to get any attention.

I love it. The teachers are excellent, the aides. Everyone is great. The principal is a little unorthodox but she's. Perfect example of not to judge a book by its cover. She's great and she runs a tight ship.

I have to agree with the parent about the bullying. I too am a teacher and my daughter has been repeatedly bullied by the same kids and now it is getting worse after I tried to intervene. The students are not allowed to talk during lunch and spend half the time watching movies inside the auditorium again not allowed to talk. I also have a younger child who has had mediocre teachers at best. Seriously thinking about puling the girls and trying to get them in a different school.

As a teacher myself, I am appalled on how PS 69 handles bullying. My child while in the lunch school yard or attending the after school program on several occasions my child has been the recipient of such situations. The teachers / school aids stand around B/S(talking) not paying attention to the most important things =our children's safety.

My kids went through the G&T program and like all schools, the teachers are hit or miss. My younger daughter is entering the 3rd grade coming September, and I can only rave about Mrs. Ritzer, her second grade teacher. My older child also had Mrs. Ritzer for third grade, and both kids gained so much from her. For the other teachers, I can only say "meh", but Mrs. R was structured, yet fun, and the kids learned so much from her. I'm not too keen on the principal and her lack of communication unless you are one of her "favorites," which I learned quickly I am not, as she never answered any of my questions or got back to me when I wrote to her. If anyone can give me tips on how I can be a favorite, please let me know. Overall, I think the principal is a go-getter, so on the school level, I guess she does a decent job getting funding. But on the individual level, again, she is a "meh." Kudos to the parent-coordinator who does a much better job.
