Wonderful teachers who care about students. Families are involved and caring.

The school is going down hill. The teachers are unqualified, like having someone with a communication arts degree teach Math Regents which half the class dropped out of since she can’t teach. Now they will enter high school behind their peers. Major bullying & the school does nothing—no detention or suspension as promised. Instead they tell the victims to stay out of the bullies’ way & they get scolded for defending themselves. Most of the bullies are girls who have been at the school since kindergarten. If your daughter comes here in 6th grade, she will be a target. The girls are very rude & entitled, disrespect teachers & have no respect for authority. They post mean things about each other & their teachers on social media. They disrupt class so teachers can’t teach. Teachers lost complete control of the situation & left it in the principal’s hands but she does nothing about it. School is no longer a fun place to learn. It’s a battle ground & you better hope your daughter isn’t the target of the day. Principal & president are fake, smile & pretend everything is all good when there are many issues they refuse to address.

They can’t retain teachers and keep hiring inexperienced people who cannot teach. Almost all parents supplement with tutoring on the side although they are already paying $8000 in tuition. Bullying is a big problem here. Teachers can’t control the loud or mean students, but they will punish the whole class instead by giving extra homework. You can report it to administration but they’ll just talk to the class as a whole. They refuse to call out the bullies and tell them to stop or contact their parents because they’re too scared they’ll lose donors and it’s all about the money. I will let my daughter finish the year off then she is out! We could’ve went to public school for this.

This school deserves 0 Stars. Sending out daughter here was the worst mistake ever.

Awful experience. Teachers don't give extra help. Principal does nothing. Bullying exists. Go elsewhere. So many other options. This should not be one of them

Notre Dame Academy is a very unique place. I questioned why all girls prior to registering my daughter. Once she started there, I never looked back. The girls are free to be themselves. The Teachers are nurturing and supportive. The curriculum is challenging. Students are poised, independent and well spoken. The school consistently graduates well rounded young ladies. I am proud to be part of this community. It feels like home.

bad school. doesn't deserve one star. i am questioning the good reviews it should be the school it self . stay away to protect your child self esteem from getting shipped off by the administration .my child constantly reported a hair in the cafeteria food. poor heat in the winte,r draft comes from the old windows and children feel so cold. bad cooling system when the children need air conditioner .... very old main school door all they do is painting it .old security system . i do not recommend this school

The principal doesn't have the emotional intelligence. The ability to manage her own emotion and recognize it. As well as the emotions of others .an emotionally intelligent leader is usually calm and grounded. The principal doesn't care about what you say and what you explain , she does all the talking and does not master listening to your explanation. Or concernes. She stepped on my child's self esteem isolating her the first day of starting this school year while my child has her name in her class table her books and her teachers were inquiring about her. At the cafeteria my child was kept isolated for hours and the principal told her she was not accepted in school any more. The school did not call me to inform me. My child did communicate with me via iPad. My child is suffering this cruel behavior of the called school exemple. The principal and leader ???? My child was expelled from school with no legal or logical based ground. She was asked an assignment work to do during the summer. My child spent the entire month of July working with a licensed teacher to accomplish the work to get expelled the first day of school . While allMy child's friends were telling her that her name was on the 7 th grade list at the same class of hers with her name on her table. And her books kept for her. The principal was saying my child is retained and expelled because she doesn't meet the school academic level. My child moved to Notre dame mid 6 th grade was happy to be in this school had a good friends that she loved. The principal for a reason that has to do with her and her only. Expelled my child hiding behind a private schools right to accept and expell without being held accounted in front of the law of all the emotional damage she caused to my child. Bad leader. Very bad administration no communication between them and the parents. , no call returns privileging kids over others. ... stay away from this school it's all about money and gifts

NDA isn't what it used to be when Sr. Rose was principal. It's not the worst, but certainly no longer the best either. Many girls in my daughter's class misbehave and the teacher seems to have no control. Same thing we experienced in previous years. Sr. Rose took disciplinary action to ensure NDA girls became proper women of society. Unfortunately there's only one class per grade so there's no way out. I'm hoping the girls mature with age and future teachers have more experience & sternness to control this bunch. Academically, NDA gives a well-rounded education. Still, Science and Social Studies could be better. Right now they don't have textbooks and only memorize facts for test purposes. The Reading/ELA is too slow IMO. My daughter is at least 2 reading level ahead of what they do in class. Math is okay but not challenging--I know some public schools that are way more advanced in this area. Parents tend to supplement at home or with Kumon. I do like the culture and society of NDA overall, and what it should represent, so I won't take my daughter out yet. She's still on the young side so I'll wait a few more years since there should be improvement in the upper grades. Tutoring is offered but nothing is done too really help the bright students. The middle school has an AP program, but we didn't get that far yet.

My daughter transferred to NDA this past September. She is happy and has made lots of new friends and joined a few sports teams. On the academic side, we have no complaints.

I would not recommend this school to any parents out there searching for a place for their daughter to learn and grow in their catholic education.

My personal experience with NDA has been the absolute epitome of unsatisfactory. The administration as others have said before me are lacking communication. I felt that they prioritized their interests over my daughters. However, the education that NDA offers is rigorous yet effective. If you choose to send your daughter to this school, then you are sending her for the education and the education only. Not the compassion and warmth that other schools offer.

My daughter attends NDA. She has been constantly bullied and teased non-stop for the past 6 months. The administration lacks overall communication and efficiency, which my daughter could have found somewhere else. I do not recommend this school to parents.

My daughter attends NDA. She has been attending since the 5th grade. She is consistently being verbally and physically harassed. I feel as though nothing is being done about this situation since she comes home depressed constantly, and feels unworthy of affection anymore. I hope that this situations being taken care of and that the outcome will improve soon, but fear that this will not happen before she is gone, since this has been taking place over a long period of time.

Notre Dame Academy is in a league of it's own. You will notice it the minute you enter the property. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The students are well mannered and kind to each other and to the parents and staff. There is something special about the atmosphere and about the girls that attend the school. They are taught to be well rounded and independent. Academically they are challenged to reach their full potential. Socially they are nurtured to be giving and kind young ladies. I am proud to be an NDA parent and share in the wonderful family environment the school offers.

NDA is an amazing gem on the hill: The grounds are beautiful. The buildings are completely modernized--like no other school I've seen. The faculty and staff are caring and nurturing to the children, which is reflected in the children's kindness to each other. The academics are rigorous but appropriate. And the families are supportive and help to build a great community.

My daughter has been a student at Notre Dame Academy for the past 2 years, having completed Pre K and Kindergarten. It is a wonderful school and her teachers have been excellent! It is a warm, caring and nurturing environment that offers a quality education academically. The teachers, staff and parents work together as a team with the ultimate goal of helping our daughters grow and develop academically, emotionally and spiritually. I am so happy and proud to be a part of the Notre Dame Elementary School family!
