This is my child’s 1st year and has been welcomed by all staff. The staff has shown great care. The staff is creating a positive experience in school. My child feels happy with the lessons and has a fun day with her classmates and staff. The school is clean , safe and organized. The Islamic studies and Quran class is my child’s best part of the day it gives a sense of identity and creates a positive environment for children to treat each other with respect. Public school can not compare it’s worth every cent to invest in your child’s education and religious beliefs .

The principal is an overbearing dictator. she refuses to get methods training for faculty. its the same thing every year. the kids are not given the quality of education they need. The reading and writing are extremely lacking. The teachers slack off half way through the year. they call days off, and half days whenever they want. There is barely a PTA or PTO. All they do is bake sales. We wasted money for two years, and our kids who are third generation Americans came out mispronouncing English words, because the teachers are foreigners. The teachers are mediocre. Up to 3rd grated teachers are ok...but like i said, they don't push the kids and they give all the kids all A's to make the parents happy. Meanwhile, they don't meet standards on the Terra Nova Test, which is supposed to be an easier exam. There is no pushing forward at this school. They have been around for 20 years, but haven't gotten anywhere. Maybe if Islamic schools paid a competing salary to teachers, they would actually get great teachers, which would increase enrollment, etc...but until then---DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEYYYYY.

The school has helped me through the years and the time that I have spent there I don't feel a single regret. One of the nicest and dedicated teachers I have met works there and that's Sr. Hanaa Ahmed, the physical education teacher. She works hard for the kids and spends her time to find enjoyable activities for them to enjoy. She is freindly with all the kids and makes sure to include everyone. She taught all of us kids how to play volley ball, soccer, kickball, and countless other sports. Sr. Hanaa makes great trips that allow kids to have fun while learning how to stay active. One of the best things she has put together was Sports day, which was a total success. In conclusion, Sr. Hanaa Ahmed has worked hard as a teacher, which any student may notice when they look at the way she treats people and how much of her work is a success.

This is for the NJ location since NJ location is not listed here, which doesn't look much different than the NY one. Just Stay away. Go to Miraj academy's NJ facebook page to read my full review. Read the real negative reviews here. They are true! I agree with all of them. They need to listen to the parents and get there act together. They really do manage these school like a dictatorship! Its all about their convenience. Not qualified teachers just add to the issue. Regarding all the positive reviews, we all support these types of schools but lying about how they do doesn't help on improving their terrible way of running the school. These to 2 schools get funding from Turgev foundation that is in Turkey. I don't think they have a big budget it issue like other schools that still do much better in everything! Get a grip Miraj Academy, its not about you, its about giving quality Islamic based education to our future generations! That is the only reason we are sending our kids to Islamic schools, this is the passion you need. Running the schools around the schedule and comfort around the management is ridiculous. Don't think you guys know best, as you sure don't! To the Parents that are thinking of this school, PLEASE don't waste your money, more important don't waste the very valuable education time of your children where they can get real education somewhere else! If you have no other choice, send your kids to public and study at Islam at home, it will be better off. Trust me!

First and foremost greatings of peace to all. I am a parent and a community member. MIS is a school that teaches Islamic manners and proper behavior. Parents are requested to participate in school programs, parent-teacher conferences, fundraising, and volunteer for the school. MIS students are taught and inquire tools that with Allah will and his will alone our children can lead a good and blessed life in this world and the next Ameen Ameen.

This worse school ever. They never listen to parents. There city exam scores are worse. Teachers are not certified teachers they are students from college or university. They give tons of homework but don't teach in the class room. I don't recommend this school.

Worst school and worst principal. Totally inept. School is run like a dictatorship. Parents have to take it or leave it. I say leave it there are other choices out there.

I love this school!! I have gone there for many years and it is amazing!! The school is a very protective environment and it is very safe. The uniforms that we wear give the girls modesty and no one dresses in a non-Islamic way. The other negative comments probably weren't even from parents but from children from other schools playing around, or a parent that took there child there for little time. All the parents are very happy with the school, thats why they send their children there year after year. One of our very own teachers has seen her daughter graduate middle school and go to IS tech because of her amazing grade and she is very happy with the school. Many of our teacher even bring there children to the school! This school is amazing and any child that goes to this school is lucky!
