Esta escuela es demasiada mala, los estudiantes no están bien educados para respetar a todos, los staff members no ayudan para nada a la hora del almuerzo, casi nunca hay recreo en la escuela.

It is a mix of entertainment, We put learning and games together. Fun, there is lots of fund to be at school. Education, we learn new things better than last year. More understanding in the process of learning. New matters and subjects are well explained. Now, not like remote learning, there is a person physically in front of you to teach your subjects. We learn English Language Art, English Writing, Reading, Comprehension, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Advisory, Physical Education, Art. All subjects are taught in a practical and entertaining way. The school environment is safe and teachers tell us to go safe home immediately after school. City buses are provided just in front of the school for children to get into buses safely to go home.-Ramila Sumari - 723

This school is okay, and could use improvement. Homework-The homework given really just depends on the teacher, if you are given homework it’s usually corresponding with the lesson and the teachers grade fairly. All of the teachers I have had allow makeup work but usually take off 10 points (sometimes none) when given in late.Teachers-I’ve only had two “bad” teachers going here, One isn’t bad at teaching she just isn’t the nicest to her students and has a attitude most of the times. The other had no idea what she was doing, lost students papers, disrespected students (she constantly used wrong pronouns and the legal name for a transgender student that had gone to the school) and just wasn’t a good teacher. She taught Spanish but she wasn’t a Spanish teacher.Leadership-I’m not sure how to answer this question, they do teach students how to be leaders and do teach things like kindness, respecting others, ect but they don’t really show leadership around the schoolCharacter-They do teach students to express themselves, be themselves and teach them to respect everyone. My first year at the school they held an assembly for my academy because of bullying and sexual harassment, they taught students what was wrong and what wasn’t, Mr.Rosenow was the one holding it and overall I think he really cares about his students and their character.Learning differences- I’m not in the special education class but I do believe they teach them well, as I see them around school and have made friends with some of the students in these classes. I can’t speak for others but I think they do handle learning differences well.Bullying-The bullying in this school is horrible and they really need to handle it differently. They stand for respect for all and talk so much about caring about their students but the bullying in this school is really bad, not only that they handle it horribly, they barely act on bullying. One girl was threatened by 3 girls and the girls never faced any type of enforcement. They teach students not to bully but never actually act on it. If there are physical fights the students are usually suspended For 1-5 days.

It is okay but they should care more about the students then themselves.

thus far, I would rate is as a positive experience, but I am the type of parent who will advocate and push for my child. The improvements to the school that are a MUST: 1) lockers for children, book bags are too heavy and are a health hazard for growing bodies 2) encouraging better integration with the community

All 5 of my kids went to this school. I have never had any issues. Parents who complain about any school are parents who are no parenting. A good student starts at the home. The home is where they develop a strong work/study ethic. If it is not taught at home it will make teaching your child a whole lot harder. Parents today, do not check homework, ask questions, go to PTA meetings, go to Parent Teacher Conferences, do not go to workshops etc.. Then when their child's report card comes they are in shock, REALLY ? Stop blaming the schools and the teachers and take ownership. If your child isn't getting what they need say something, do something. YOU ARE YOUR CHILD'S BEST ADVOCATE. Teach your kids to take ownership ! Teach your child to go the extra mile ! Teach your child that they are in control of their lives and it is up to them to take initiative. They are not in elementary school anymore. Let's work together as a community, rather than talk badly about a school on social media, especially if the one with the problem is you the parent, pushing blame instead of seeking a resolution. Good Luck ! Be Well ! God Bless !

my daughter has been at this school 2 years. Its a public school, teachers and staff are dealing with a wide range of parents and students. If you are looking for a private school type atmosphere than you need to send your child to one. 2 of my kids are in private, one in public. There is a difference, but if your kid wants to learn they will learn. My daughter is a 90 student, and I have had no issues with her 504 being accommodated. they don't go out of their way to help you, but I don't see them impeding me as a parent either

If you have other choice, don't send your kid there. My kid was there been bully by other kids, and even bully by her own guidance counselor. The situation was so bad, I had to reported to NY state education dept at Albany for help.

If I could give this school zero stars I would, but you have to give them at least one star here. I agree with all the other parents, this school is the pits. This is because of the administration, all of them, even the secretaries . They roll their eyes are concerned parents or even if you have a simple question. They bully the kids and could care less about the level of education they get. They lie lie lie to you as they smile to your face. Do not trust these people at all, know your rights. Speak to your children and ask questions. The DOE needs to replace the entire administration with a new Principle , VP's and Dean. They bully the children. They need an administration that will straighten out the teachers. My child endured more abuse at the hands of these so called educators than any child should. I believe the DOE is aware of this, know your rights and exercise them. These are your children they are dealing with. Shame on them all.

Being a student of IS2, it is absolutely horrible. Thankfully I am graduating so I won't have to deal with it. I am giving it 2 stars because it is a decent school, but the teachers and staff are horrible. Do not send your child here.

My son has an IEP and special needs. I reopened his case as he was seen as quite delayed and possibly in need of a self-contained setting or a paraprofessional. After I tried advocating for a para to the principal, school psychologist and several of his teachers, things went south quickly. It took five weeks for my son to even be evaluated/tested, then I was squeezed in to meet for the IEP at the very last minute, and only given a choice of two dates at the very end of the allowable timeline. I had to ask for an official letter of invite, and the letter indicated no reason for the meeting and was dated incorrectly. Teachers contacting me prior to reopening the case stopped suddenly. Emails went unanswered. To top things off, my son was excluded from a chorus Holiday show due to "behavior" but never did the teacher ever contact me, no phone call, no letter home, NOTHING. I had to call him, and emailed principal and even spoke to school psychologist, NO intervention ensued. The communication is lacking, no pupilpath is available, teachers don't readily have emails either or extensions to be easily contacted. There is a clear need for major improvement in communication!!!

Beware this school is the pits... my daughter went to this school, everyday she would come home with a complaint about how disrespectful, fresh and nasty the teachers were. For example my daughter is right handed in which it had been broken by another student. Her teacher had the nerve to tell her to use her left hand to take notes. My daughters reply was some lefty can do that but can't. Well this teacher decided to pick on her all year and never gave her a chance. Smh
