Both of our daughters attended Scofield. Our older daughter was an advanced learner, and the staff came together to work with her on an individual basis. Because of their intervention and assistance, she completed middle school in just two years, while still fulfilling the requirements for Algebra I and Geometry, as well as qualifying for Spanish 3.

Overall, Scofield Magnet Middle school is an entirely gruesome environment for a child. It is likely you have seen the review not far below this one, concerning the school's homework standards; further, this review was written by myself, just a short year ago. As you've probably been able to tell already, as it is profoundly evident, my writing has dramatically improved since I've left the school. The inferior education is one of the many reasons I chose to flee, others being personal social concerns and the immature administration and (some) teachers. Students at this school are belligerent, arrogant and, on top of it all, violent. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence if you heard someone yell "fight me!" in the hallways. When I was a student, I was regularly attacked for the silliest of reasons, and I was indeed not the only one. In fact, a survey last year reported over two-thirds of the school reported severe bullying problems! The administration is vile, suspending a majority of students, for acts so insignificant, like walking too slowly (no, I'm not lying). Lastly, the teachers. Yes, perhaps two or three of them are decent, but the rest are truly disgraceful. Once, my language arts teacher pretended not to remember my name. Myself, straight A student and stellar writer and reader, of which attended her class every day, should not be forgotten, and neither should anyone else! Unless you want to scar your child, and yourself, DO NOT send them to SMMS!

Excellent. Our daughter has had a wonderful experience and has been exposed to excellent teacher, a strong curriculum and great out of school activities. The school offers opportunities for many field trips throughout the year and an array of afterschool activities that appeal to all different interests. Our daughter is engaged socially and academically and has had a wonderful middle school experience to date.

This school is an amazing school except for the fact that there is a lot of bullying and inappropriate cursing. I moved my daughter to cloonan the next month and it was absolutely amazing! Even though its not a magnet school it is very nice. The teachers are funny and the structure of the school is more professional. The average of kids are friendly and security guards/Mr.Tate are very trained! Stamford Governor and mayor arrived and congratulated for top education,

I am a sixth grader at Scofield and I'm currently having the best year of my life! All my teachers are great and really supportive of our learning. Although they can be tough on us, it's for our own good. I have really learned a lot this year at scofield and I am really glad I moved from private school to Scofield.

Great school, dedicated teachers. I would suggest to those who are unhappy with the school, take your child to your district school. No one is making you send your children there. As for the test scores, I would do more research. Scofield has the highest scores in Stamford (year after year). The teachers are educated and push students to work to their potential so that they may succeed throughout their academic years.

My school is pretty good I just had my first year there and it was pretty cool. The teachers challenge you but then there are teachers that favor. I like that the teachers can be fun but are serious during our education. My school can improve on an auditorium and not running for 10 minutes in gym, because some people have asthma and some people will pass out one day.
