Great schools, many good programs and activities for kids, friendly and excellent teachers & staff.

FCPS pandered to the Teachers Associations and refused to allow students to attend school. Teacher benefits and convenience is valued over the well-being of students. Virtual school took 5 weeks to rollout.K-3 virtual instruction was completely ineffective. The PTA failed to advocate for our students.

Kings Park has been recognized for earning the 2020 Board of Education Highest Achievement Award. King Park is among 71 schools statewide to earn the award.

I was impressed with the professionalism of the teaching staff, and although the staff is very young, it wouldn't shock me if in ten years time King's Park became one of the top schools in the county for kids with disabilities as well as others.

Both of my kids became great readers, great learners, and compassionate friends at Kings Park. They love it. We love it.

We love Kings Park. My son has enjoyed his time at the school and I know feels like he is part of a large family. We can't wait for our daughter to start next year!

We love KP for 2 main reasons. 1. Grade level K-3 allows for staff to focus their attention on younger kids creating a strong learning and social foundation. 2. There is a strong sense of community. Parents are very involved and school is very welcoming of parents. Events are well organized with amazing parent volunteer turnout.

My son hated it, being an outcast, due his disabilities and was bullied constantly while his 3rd grade teacher did nothing.I don’t recommend children with disabilities going there, please find a neutral school.

We moved mid semester from Ft. Gordon to Ft. Belvoir and my daughter was so nervous starting a new school. She was placed in Mrs. Crowley's kindergarten class and was immediately welcomed by everyone. Nancy at the front office was so welcoming and friendly and did a wonderful job of explaining everything to us, and to my daughter. The students all seem very happy and playful. At the end of my daughter's first day, she said she loved her new school and says she is so happy we are here.

This school is a great neighborhood school! Teachers and parents are very active and the school is well run, including the before/after school program. My son has learned so much in Kindergarten, I'm amazed. Every school function has been well run and well attended. Great to see an environment where teachers, parents and students attend after school events!!

We moved to Burke from Prince William County so I have something local and within state to compare to. KP is an awful school. No sense of community. No fun arts, plays, dance, concerts, etc. My older son's 2nd grade teacher last year was horrible. My other son's 1st grade teacher was really good but, she could only be so good given the awful school environment. Super depressing to transfer from a pretty normal school to Kings Park.

My daughter has been in Kindergarten here and it has been a truly wonderful experience (and I was hesitant about full day kindergarten). The staff are very caring, her teachers, (Gill and Harmon) are absolutely wonderful, the school addresses issues quickly, special needs teachers are very involved in the classes (my daughter isn't special needs but still loves and benefits from their presence), the PTA is very active, and I think there is a lot to be said about having only pre k-3rd grade as the focus on the school is then solely geared towards younger age groups. This school is part of the reason I don't trust Greatschools scores. If we weren't moving next year I would be thrilled to keep my daughter here.

My son went through Kings Park and my daughter is currently in 2nd grade. I cannot say enough good things about this school. The teachers are all fabulous, and my daughter is getting a great foundation for future studies in all subjects, as did my son. The neighborhood is also awesome!

My two boys have been in Kings Park and have adored their teachers. The school is very neat and clean, the teachers have been very attentive, positive, and nurturing. The principal isn't very friendly and rarely engages with our family personally when we see her at school events. The new assistant principal is always very friendly. He always smiles and says hello to our family. Overall, my boys have received a great foundation at Kings Park.

Kindergarten was a nightmare- a new teacher didn't know what was the signs of ADHD- and sent my child to the principal's office numerous times.First grade- teacher awesome saw the signs and we worked together. Mrs. Symzik Awesome teacher and was able to communicate with- in addition to the Second teacher. Third Grade was a weird ride- the teacher wasn't easy to communicate with.

Kings Park is a very nurturing, intimate environment for young grade schoolers. We have been very pleased with the quality of the teachers and the warmth and leadership of the administration. The physical plant of the school is also well maintained, making it a very welcoming place for students.

Kings Park Elementary School has been fantastic for our family! My son has high functioning autism and has been in the general ed classrooms with support from K thru 2nd grade currently. He has grown so much and has blossomed under both the general education and special education support!! My daughter is in K this year and she loves it!! She is a very sensitive child, and yet she is always being encouraged and motivated by her teacher, instead of being left to feel sad or discouraged. Both of my children and I LOVE Kings Park! Great school!!

I'm not sure in which class the previous parent has a child, but I can say I have a child in Kings Park now (2nd grade) and she LOVES her teacher. Her teacher always returns my emails and or phone calls within 24 hours. Her teacher really seems to enjoy her job and always has a smile on her face. This year has been better than last year, but all in all I think the staff at Kings Park has been great to my children. Hopefully your child will have my child's teacher next year.

When we moved back to Virginia I was pleased that my son would be going to Kings Park Elementary because we heard nothing but great things. Well I have to say that is not the case anymore. They have had so many changes in the past two years it should be considered unacceptable. They have had two principles, three assistant principles, several teachers changing to perform other jobs in the school or just outright leaving. There is no continuity of care taking place whatsoever and my sons teacher this year is by far the worst I have ever seen. I am a teacher myself and have never seen someone so hateful around children. It makes you question why they chose to work with kids in the first place. You have to hunt them down just to ask a question and not really get an answer. Now I should say that I am sure that not all the staff is this way but a good majority are and it is sad to think that these are the role models that our children look up to. I am hoping for a better year this fall but am not counting on it. I understand this is the my opinion but I want my child to feel that he can express himself and that his future can be what he chooses not what someone tells him it has to be.
