No idea how they got a bad review... especially Mr. Schnaus. This was the best school I ever dealt with in 20 years of parenting. I moved to this area just so my child could go here based on the state grade of 9/10. Their not only good with test & education scores... but extremely attentive to each student & focused fully on education, not politics & funding. The staff is very flexible & understanding with various issues. The principal Mr. Schnaus is so kind, warm, patient & gentle with the kids. They are strict about school boundaries & attendance. But expected from a school this good. My kid had many missed days, as our family was going through a lot that year. I got several kind warnings, the last was a meeting. I didnt feel scolded, but like they honestly wanted to help. Mr. Schnaus learned i moved & didn't kick my kid out of school mid year... like some would.... long as it didn't affect her attendance. The pickup drop off routine is the most organized i have EVER seen at a school. And they make sure all kids are in before shutting doors. Some schools don't. The communication & parental involvement is outstanding. My kids last school never sent papers home and parents were not included in anything. This school was SO the opposite. I knew everything she was doing and never felt left out. I'm so so sad I had to move. So many good teachers here... such warm welcoming staff... & a principal who sets all those standards by example. Thank you Mr. Schnaus, Ms. Beaty, Mrs. Smith & Ms. Allen.

Both my sons have gone here. Was a great school until the old principal left. The new superintendent is terrible too. I pulled my kids out and sent them elsewhere.

My son attends this school and it has been wonderful, the school principal is Mr. Schnaus is always so helpful and does so good with the kids. The teachers also are amazing (Mrs. Mcgee is such awesome teacher- she brings out the best in the kids in her class and most importantly challenges them to aim higher and helps them achieve it.)The atmosphere and all the staff also in the school are warm and inviting and makes for great academic (and other life aspects) success.Keep up the great work Newby Elementary!!!!!
