PSS is an awesome school. Throughout the pandemic, my kids have done so well and never missed a step. I really appreactiate the hard working teachers and all of the staff. The principal is kind and shows that he cares for the students and the teachers also. I loved having my kids at Pine Street!

This school is an education in nepotism. Unless you’re old Spartanburg money, well connected, or select school staff, your children will not get a chance to thrive outside the classroom. Do not have your children run for student council, main parts in plays (regardless of talent) or any leadership positions in the school unless you meet said criteria. Additionally, whereas we complain of high school cliques, there is a PTO clique (again, you must meet above-mentioned criteria) that is harder to infiltrate than Fort Knox. Yes, you will be able to join and volunteer, but like most mean girls scenarios, the treatment you receive will eventually have you quitting. Does the school provide a good, basic, academic elementary education? Yes. Are there similar, comparable, or even better schools in the area that will not crush your children’s dreams and give them equal opportunity in all areas? Absolutely! Had I known that this is how the school operates, I would have looked to send my children elsewhere.

In 2010 it was an amazing school for my older children... now in 2017 it is much different. Grades are still high, but it's because of force not teaching and encouragement. The people in power take it to their heads and let you know they are better than you. I hate to do it, but we're looking at other schools. This one just isn't what it used to be.

Pine Street Elementary School is the best Elementary School in Spartanburg County and possibly the best in the state of South Carolina. The teachers are among the finest in the profession and strive daily to enrich the lives of the students with academic excellence. The administration of the building is always fair and willing to listen to and work as a collaborative partner with parents and teachers. As a parent, I am proud that my children are fortunate to call Pine Street Elementary School their school!

Pine Street used to be a very fine school, but since the change in principals a few years ago, it has declined significantly. The test scores are still pretty good, but whenever I talk with teachers, they express low morale. The current administrator of the school lacks the ability to manage personnel. She often lies--to parents, teachers, and students--and I have personally observed her treat each of those groups with extreme disrespect. Every year that she has been there the quality of student experience has declined, and Pine Street won't quickly recover from the damage she has inflicted upon it.

Pine Street has always been a wonderful school, but now with arts infusion it's becoming even better! The children are actively involved in their learning and retaining more information because of the arts. My children love their school, adore their teachers and have learned so much! The creative thinking methods that are encouraged at Pine Street will help them be competitive in this ever changing world!

Pine St is full of caring teachers, caring principals, and energetic and creative students. My daughter has been there since kindergarten and loves every minute of her time there.

It is like a family! Everyone cares about each other and respects each other. The arts are important and infused into the curriculum. Parents volunteer and help out all the time.Teachers go the extra mile.

Pine Street is a wonderful school! I first experienced Pine Street as a parent, and was blown away at the'family atmosphere.' Parents are involved and teachers/staff really care! Now I am a teacher at Pine Street. It is a comfortable and positive environment to work in. Pine Street School is just the greatest!!
