I was informed by family members, and friends that this school WAS a good school when they attended or their children attended years ago. Maybe it was! Now, it’s definitely different. They have picks, don’t give help to ALL children. When your child needs help in with their work, or tutoring they’re overlooked, and told there’s no help. When bullying happens they push it under the rug, overlook it and do nothing about it. It’s not fair for a child to come home saying they’re being bullied, and they don’t wanna attend the school anymore, crying in the morning saying they don’t want gonna go to school. When it gets reported, NOTHING is done. HORRIBLE experience!

I can’t say enough positive things about this amazing school! I’ve never seen an entire staff as engaged, supportive and as caring as Stevenson’s and I’m very thankful for everyone there. My only wish is that this school went up to 8th grade! Keep up the amazing work, Falcons!

I absolutely love this school and the staff.. Unmatched learning environment!!!! It would be amazing ithe scholars could remain at this school until the 12 grade!

Stevenson is Ma GREAT school and I’m happy with the choice I made for my child to attend this school. I’m sad that middle school isn’t offered here

I have had the pleasure of having three children attend Stevenson Elementary. I recommend this school to all my friends and family. The teachers, staff, and administrators are all exceptional and show how much they care and how dedicated they are. I love this school!

False advertisement- this school does not teach the entire child. BEWARE- 1st grade teacher told my child she didn’t like him. Trash school.

Stevenson is such a wonderful school. The leadership/staff are great. The environment is colorful, warm, pleasant and clean for the awesome scholars. The positive spirit is just right and is full of happiness.

I absolutely love Stevenson Elementary… my daughter has been attending for 3 years now and her younger sibling will be joining next year Mrs Hickman is the best principal I have ever meet, she truly love and enjoy caring for the children.. All staff are amazing will the children… my daughter is a super reader and great will all academic… they promote family engagement and have many extracurricular activities for growth. I highly recommend Stevenson Elementary.

Amazing school ran by Mrs.Hickman. This schools provide high quality education and many family engagement programs.. My daughter feels safe and loved attending school. All staff are amazing with the children

My kid is learning in this school since last 3 years. The teachers are best, very cooperative administration and prompt communication is what I liked most about the school. During pandemic they are using different ideas to motivate students to join online always. School has arranged enough tools and technologies for smooth online classes. Even during this difficult time my third grader has made a score of 4th grader using IReady assessment. Even before pandemic my kid was doing very good and I was never worried about his performance or conduct at school.

Very disappointed. I've never seen a principal with such an I don't care attitude. A team is only good as their leader I guess that explains the teachers behavior.

I absolutely hate this school and if it wasn't for the fact that I needed the bus transportation, I would move my child to another school. I am looking into home school for this upcoming school year

The bullying at this school is out of control and nothing is done about. Some of the teachers and other staff members attitudes are terrible. The principles lackadaisical attitude is unacceptable, a team is only as good as their leader. This school breeds a new one.

In a conference with the school principal, she indicated that there were certain policies and criteria that were not used or not in place. Yet, approximately two weeks after my initial meeting with her, my student has been verbally assaulted by the school secretary, placed on suspensions weekly by a weak school leader and untaught by a school teacher. What happens to treating the whole child and looking to see the needs of children? Suspensions on a weekly basis are not the answer to a minor issue. The student is not fighting. The student is not bullying, but the child IS being bullied - and ignored. Very few monitor the adult staff behavior as much as they do the child's behavior. In case few are aware, they often go hand-in-hand. Teachers cannot cater to the smarter/less busy students. Realizing that their job is difficult in this 21st century with assessments, students, parents, and administration, it would be a better school if people cared about people again. The school needs stronger leadership.

Wonderful, caring teachers who go the extra mile for my daughter who struggles in reading. I've always been able to sit down and have a conversation with the principal, she has an open door policy and spends time on the playground every day with the children so she knows them all by name. A great community, family-oriented feel to this neighborhood school. Perhaps the earlier review from an upset parent was because their child was disciplined; the staff and principal are very consistent with expectations and rules and the behaviors of the students. Most important, high achievement in academics is a priority and after school tutoring is offered for free in the second semester.

My son attended Stevenson from 1st to 4th grade. He had a couple of great teachers but some the staff's behavior is very inappropiate. They dont take bullying or harrassment seriously at all. When the parent or the student complains to the principal, she doesnt have time to talk nor does she return phone calls. His last teacher made discouraging comments to the class. Im completely dissappointed in the school, their actions and they way that the district handles things. As a result, I moved from Southfield after residing here for 7 years and sent my child a school in another district.
