teachers care more about the money than the students. Bulling is abundant and there have been multiple instances of punching spiting at hitting. I would never recommend this school to anyone ever!

There is zero tolerance for bullying and administration is quick to become involved in a situation to resolve issues.

Overall Fay has been an exceptional experience for our entire family. Our children have thrived academically, socially, and athletically at Fay, and as parents, we have found the community to be very welcoming.

Incredible school, great education philosophy. My son loves Fay better although he came from another top school. Great community overall. Keep it up, Fay.

As an alum of Fay, I can say that my experiences there have shaped my life forever. During the years that I spent at Fay, I became a more confident student, person and friend. I have a better understanding of the world today because of what I learned through community service, and the education I received. I learned how to manage my time, and homework at an early age, and this has significantly helped me throughout my life so far. The faculty, staff, and coaches at Fay provide as a strong influence on the students, as they are always willing to help, give feedback, and support your endeavors. I still remain in contact with some, and I have never encountered such caring teachers at any other school. I have also created friendships, connections, and relationships that will last a lifetime. I am happy that I came to Fay, but my family and I wish we had made the switch earlier. I recommend thinking about Fay for students who are willing to work hard, and for families who want to be involved in their school, and love traditions that junior boarding schools have to offer!

Fay has been an exceptional choice for my son. He did well in the local public school system, but was never encouraged to work up to or above his perceived potential until he went to Fay School. Fay's faculty is kind, supportive, creative, and truly want the best out of our children and I feel that the standards I hold for him are met by the school as well. In my interactions with the Administration, they take their job VERY seriously and want only the best for all children. I have witnessed faculty coaches as well as the athletic training staff at away games give support and take exceptional care of students who have been injured in a game. It has given me great relief to know that if anything should happen to my child, he would be cared for in the same manner (if not better) than if it was left up to me. Fay School also have "Effort Grades" bi-weekly that are great indicators of how your child is doing in the classroom, as a citizen at Fay and in the sports. At mid-terms faculty give constructive feedback that allows you to have conversations with your child about how best to improve your grades and the different ways teachers are available to give special help. I cannot say enough great things about this school as they have continually gone above and beyond for my son, and his classmates.

Fay has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. This is her fifth year at the school and she has been supported and encouraged personally and academically in a way that she just wasn't in the local public school. She did fine in school before coming to Fay but the school has taught her to hold herself to a higher standard and she has grown into a mature and responsible learner who cares deeply about doing her best in class and on the playing field. More importantly, she is really happy. The kids at Fay are incredibly nice, kind, well-mannered, and supportive of one another. Switching her to Fay was a big decision but we haven't regretted it for a moment.

Several children we know have had their reputations mutilated by unfair investigative techniques that are either completely unsupported by proof or are based on slight, doubtful, or irrelevant information. Boarding students in particular have been vulnerable to very harsh treatment without their parents even knowing what was going on. I understand that the Head of Upper School that was hired several years ago is on his way out the door---this might be good for starters. Good riddance!!!!!

We have two children and Fay has only been a truly enriching experience for both our children in setting the tone for their future. Fay is academically rigorous and well rounded by offering more than academics but also an extensive and well rounded arts/music program and their belief in all kids should play sports during their years from 5th-9th grade. Our kids were given the opportunity to develop their whole self and begin to discover who they are. The teachers and administration are truly caring and knowledgable and enough can not be said about how much they offer the students each day. It is a wonderful community of students, parents, faculty and staff and we are so pleased to have been a part of it.

Last year, nearly ten percent of the ninth grade students were expelled as a result of allegations made by a single day student against a group of boarding students. The boarders, boys age14 and 15, hailing from four countries, were humiliated and their families devastated by a kangaroo court of faculty members. The description of events, crafted by an ill-tempered, newly hired administrator, left me wondering who was watching over the students----not a single faculty member was held responsible for a lack of oversight in the dorm. An investigation by the police has yielded nothing to substantiate the claims made by the day student or the discipline committee. Meanwhile, the boarders that were subjected to the horror of the allegations have had their reputations destroyed and they must report discipline records (required on the Common App) when applying to colleges in just a few short years. Fay School was a great experience for a few years but that is sadly no longer true---

Our three children attended Fay School. The school provided an exceptional - though different - experience for each. Fay school positioned our children to fulfill their potential academically and as leaders as they progressed through secondary school and now college. Fay supplemented the development of character, and while the academics are demanding, I believe our children benefitted most from the strong values the school supports and from the emphasis on the individual needs of each student. Unlike alternatives, our children where challenged to be the best they could be both academically and as contributors to society. Fay does not simply process students with the objective of getting them through a state-mandated exam. Finally, I was always impressed by the joy our children - and others - showed when visiting campus. Fay is truly an impressive place which children seem to love.

Immediately after my oldest daughter enrolled at Fay several years ago, her "spark" returned (it had gone out during her years in public school). Her younger sister now attends too. Both girls love Fay, love school, and love learning. Their teachers are intelligent, professional, friendly, and encouraging, and their classes are stimulating and challenging. They are truly eager to get to school each day, and they are full of exciting stories from school every night. I appreciate that my girls are getting a first-rate academic education, arts education, service learning education, athletics education, and character education -- all while having a fun childhood experience with their friends at Fay. I am very grateful to Fay School. My girls are learning that they have unlimited potential, and that they can achieve anything. As a parent, I could not be more satisfied.

I lived in the Fay dorms for 3 years, and graduated with honors. The drinking, gambling, and hazing that I saw during that time (aged 12 to 15) would make many frat brothers cry, but far worse than the behavior itself was the way it was handled. As others have mentioned the administrations obsession with money and image heavily influence disciplinary decisions. And the transparency of the bias causes many students to become disillusioned and further act out. The real advantage of going to fay is that you meet a lot of rich kids, and rich kids usually become rich adults, so the long term networking is fantastic. When you make your decision, bear in mind the mantra of the boarders... There is no smiling at The Fay School!

The school is an amazing place where teachers and students collaborate and help build a community. It is something much greater than your average school, it is the Fay School.

The teachers were good, but stifled by the administration, and therefore Fay was an overall a disturbing experience. Fay leadership seems more interested in control than inspiration, an ethos that is carefully monitored. It is an environment geared not only to various misuses of power, but indeed a culture of deflecting accountability. There is a reason for high staff turn-over and one of the lowest star ratings of any private school in MA. Observe sometime . The children do not smile at Fay. Look to Meadowbrook in Weston if you are interested in a truly great private school.

Having grown up in public schools, I couldn't be more happier for my two children. They were not thriving in MA public and now they are. Fay is strong where so many public schools fall so short ... academics, character building, values and athletics. Fay is worth it ... there is no better investment you can make than in your children's future.

I had attended Fay for 3 years as a boarding student. One thing I can recognize is that, money talks. At Fay cash ruled everything around me. I was a financial aid student, so it was a miracle things worked out for me to attend. It's a good school, but the issue is that if you have money, you have power. If your kid gets caught doing something real bad and it's well aware that you have money to your name, don't worry about it. I've witnessed consistent rule breakers get away with with tobacco, bullying, cheating, and others and there was no severe punishment other than suspension (these student were known to have the $$). Meanwhile another student in a similar situation (financial aid) had got caught up with alcohol. And let it be known this student had been an athlete, top ten scholar and consistently participating in charities. He was immediately expelled, no advocation from anyone. This is unacceptable that this could happen. You are better off going to public school and standing out more to colleges. Fay is not an option for middle/lower class people. Ignore the propaganda they provide saying they do not discriminate against class. It is morally disgusting that this could happen

I am a student at Fay currently.I am applying out because none of the teachers are supportive.I have been bullied right in front of there eyes and they do not notice. For an average 5th grader 2-3 hours of homework per night.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
