I was very hesitant about the high school when my kids were younger and worried they would not get as good of education as in other nearby districts. I was totally wrong ! From the academic standpoint, all the ÁP classes my kids took were great - prepared them well for the tests, were challenging and interesting. Just this year we have several Ivy- league and top- tear school acceptances - so my fear that SHS would not prepare the kids well academically was totally wrong. And I just can’t say enough about how wonderful, warm, caring and deducted the teachers and administrators of SHS are ! Both of my kids had absolutely the best academic and emotional experience here - I am so grateful to this school!

We moved to Somerville a few years ago and I have been pleasantly surprised with the school system. My children definitely appreciate the smaller schools with more personal attention. Although class choices are not as abundant compared to larger school districts, I always feel like I can pick up the phone and have detailed conversations with teachers and administrators whenever there is a need. I personally love how my children felt welcomed in their new schools and feel they can get the help they need.

i have nothing good to say. My family and i left a little over a year ago for a better school system. Not many of the classes fully taught everything. The band, chorus, and colorguard are the best the school has to offer.
