My son has autism and we were worried about moving him into such a small school system. We were afraid that without the latest technology and resources, our child would be struggling. However, we have learned that the best resource has been the dedicated staff of this school. Teachers here care about the students and not just the grades. They keep open lines of communication to the parents. They listen and take suggestions. They offer insight to our child's development within the school and work hard to help with not just test scores, but life, occupational, and social skills.. Our son has had amazing success and improvement since coming to Hancock Elementary School.

School is more than bricks and mortar. A true school lies in its teachers and staff and their interaction with the students. The leadership in this school is above reproach. The needs of the children are not just educational but the child as a whole. The parents of the school look for this leadership to extend outside of the playground. I have experienced first hand. As I was waiting to help with a coat distribution a parent walked in with his daughter. She was late but was treated so kind. The principal walked over and addresed herself to him and asked permission of give the child a coat. The father was delighted for her to have a new coat and shoes. He was treated with dignity and respect. He was a poor man and could have just been brushed off. From the school secretary to the principal every respect to this parent was as if he was more affluent. As I observed the children in the office that day they were excited and looking out for each other. This a taught behavior and they have learned this at school. Hancock Elementary deserves every consideration as an outstanding school because of the people that make it a great place to send your child.

The teachers and staff at this school are amazing! My daughter recently transferred here and she is doing absolutely amazing! She has made the AB honor roll each and every marking period since she has come here.
