this school is so horrible. There’s so much racism, homophobia, hate, bullying etc. if you’re slightly different you’ll get bullied. There was multiple attempted STABBINGS and death threats this year. The school cop does nothing about it, there’s even a viral video of a mom talking to him and him saying it’s not his responsibility to protect the students. I was a student this year and I’m so happy I’m moving schools. Teachers were horrible, said to not email them, didn’t want us to ask about missing assignments etc, barely taught us, and were bullies themselves. The teachers obviously had favorites and any other students they would target. kids were saying slurs 24/7, including the n word. There was a 6th grade student who got inappropriate photos of herself leaked along with videos of her doing bad things.. if you go to the school never have your air drop on.

Mixture of military influence + low income due to the area. We experienced 6th grade teachers (more than 1) that were openly discussing with students that they did not enjoy teaching. Seems to be a lot of bullying and racism.. heard that boys were trying to pull a hajib off of a student, let alone the use of the N word is very prominent. Never received one update or progress report from any teachers about my child. If you look on facebook, it seems that it is known that this school is missing a lot of marks. I'd look into private or be a very helicopter parent and get very very involved.

I believe that the teachers do care about the students; they've been flexible with attendance and classwork during the pandemic.

I ignored the reviews and verbal warnings from other parents that had children going there. I'm sure that for a student with no learning issues the school would be fine. A student that has learning issues or disabilities that are in a normal class setting it is the worst possible place for your child. Instead of helping and improving on my son's IEP this year he didn't meet any goals and even took a few steps backwards. This school relies totally on computers that aren't reliable. They have no blocks for games or other sites on the computer. There is very little communication with parents. The communication that does happen, is accusative and unprofessional.

Teachers need to learn how to teach. Yes, the hurricane has caused scheduling problems, and we have to learn everything faster. But we still need to stay at a pace that will keep all students from failing. Also, some teachers have very unfair policies. Students who are a little slower than their peers are being punished instead of getting guidance. It's no wonder that most kids at this school are always stressed. As a student AT THIS SCHOOL I would know this the best. Do not think just because you are adults you know everything about middle schoolers. We are under a lot of pressure.

My experience was amazing, the new school is very open and bright. I was a student there and I wish when I moved I could take the school with me.

Dixon Middle in Hollyridge, NC is a great school because of the great leadership from the principal and Teachers who care and are there to teach. 5 stars was not rated because of the old building and is in dire need of a new building, but the main substance that makes up a great school are the teachers and principal who respect each other and work hand in hand together. I love how Dixon middle has parent portal, where you can keep track of your children's grades. Teacher's respond back to you in a timely manner if you have any questions or comments to share. Our Principal Mr. Strope in very invovled in our school. He is present in the Hallways, Cafeteria, Outside when the kids are out there as well as at a PTO fund raising event he helped out with. There are many clubs and programs for the students,. The music program is very good. They have many sports to compete in and this year some great coaches! Don't let the old building fool you, the contents that matter are way above average. Prayfully a new building will bless these children and families very soon.

I love this school. I have had 2 children go there, and would recommend it to anyone! I am not exaggerating when I say that the Administration is the best that I have ever seen, and the teachers are more than willing to help the students in any way they can.

This school is awful. My child's teacher's are very poor in quality. No parent communication at all. No help what so ever when my child fell behind. A student's should never drop to F's without parents knowledge. The staff should never tell the child there is no hope. Especially when it's the teaching staff's fault. I wish my child never even walked through the doors of this school. The principal has his head in the sand. Never wants to communicate. Avoid this school at all cost possible. Horrible experience we will never forget it. I just hope my child can move past this and start trusting her new teachers.

Well first off the office staff is very friendly . On the other hand the teachers I have encountered are awful . They talk about personal student matters in front of other students . They make comments that they should keep to themselves . They also have very poor parent communication . I am not satisfied . I'm thankful were getting transferred again so my child doesn't have to continue with this horrible experience .
