Horrible school. Horrible staff. This school is the poster for bad teacher, bad administrators, bad education. Students aren’t safe, or feel safe. When a parent calls the school to address concerns , they don’t even return a phone call.

This school is not in good condition, definitely a hazard. On a more important note, I have never experienced such a heavy heart with a school before. My son should be walking the stage at graduation with his peers tonight, but because he couldn’t attend a mock graduation, his cap and gown now sit with no purpose. My son did all the necessary steps from registering to attend to completing a survey with the plans that tell of his bright future after graduation and his plans that would’ve been displayed as he walked across the stage. In short, I reached out to the Principle and school board in hopes that maybe he would be allowed to attend with it being such a great accomplishment and milestone in his life. One he will never get to recreate again with his peers, to which the Principal answered, “it’s too late, his graduation PowerPoint has been deleted and he will not be allowed to attend”. My heart breaks for the lack of empathy on their end for the dreams they’ve stolen from my son, me and my family tonight and I pray that Principal Eehman and staff feel a heavy conscious this evening as they watch all of those beautiful kids celebrating their achievements knowing they robbed one from their’s.

We love Dixon High School. It is a small school where the staff cares about the students. The fine arts program and athletic programs are flourishing. The administration is friendly. Their is a true sense of school pride as soon as you enter the building. My kids love this school. It is the best secret in Onslow County!!! They have also been named a NC School of High Academic Growth for the past two years.

My step daughter is enrolled at Dixon. I feel sorry for her. The school is literally falling down on these kids. I have seen so many pictures of rotten walls and ceiling I had to go take a look for myself. This pace should be condemned. Secondly, they over crowded classrooms and lackadaisical teachers. Look on social media, all these kids do all day is post their fights with themselves, and their teachers!!!! I have seen video after video of kids mouthing off to their teachers on YouTube!!! They staff has zero control, and the students have zero respect. And good luck with trying to work with a teacher here. The don't return your calls and on the of chance that they do they do not care. they all just seem to be biding their time waiting to collect their pay checks. Its sad. Onlsow County has enough issues as it is. We need to be educating our children to stop the endless cycles of poverty, and crime.

The school may not have enough money for books, but if you ask if they have an extra copy or have it on CD, they are happy to loan them to you. The teachers are great! Follow IEP's and 504's wonderfully and without reminders! I wouldn't want my kids in any other school. We are actually going to continue to live here until they graduate, because they are doing so well! Even though they don't have books for everyone, they have worksheets, slideshows, etc on their teacher website. It really is getting our kids ready for the real world, where technology has taken over!
