Punitive administration at this school, particularly for black and brown children.

We are experiencing public school education at its finest. Currently we have two children attending SHS and they are happy, supported, involved and learning. The teachers have been responsive to the communication I have sent them. The administration has been supportive and transparent. Our children have been well prepared for EOC tests and AP exams. Our children enjoy their participation in sports, clubs and extracurricular activities. We really couldn't be more pleased with Slidell High School.

I attended Slidell High all 4 years of high school, and never once did I feel out of place or unwelcomed. The student body gets along at all levels, the teachers are all professional and willing to help at a moments notice. Athletically, the coaches are wonderful people who care the world about each boy or girl they coach as if they were their own sons or daughters. Mr. Percy is a little on the strict side, but the man knows what he's doing and keeps Slidell High running smoothly. The theatre department is run by a directing genius in Mr. Scott Sauber. 1 Tiger Drive will always hold a special place in my heart, because without the help of the incredible teachers, wonderful peers, and excellent administrators. I look forward to returning with success stories to share with the teachers who shaped me and letting them know just how thankful I am.

The teachers and administration are there for the students whenever they need them. They go out of their way to help the kids succeed. This schools has the best coaches in the state of Louisiana! It's like a family here. We couldn't ask for a better high school for our kids .

Best in Slidell...I graduated from here in 1983. Mr. Percy, the principal has won numerous awards and has a lengthy career as a teacher and principal. He is excellent and very approachable. There is a nice mix of students so it's not hard to fit in at all. The teachers are caring and willing to go out of their way to help your child suceed!

We just received my son's ACT scores...29 composite. He is just finishing 10th grade. He has been a struggling student through the years with some reading/learning/attention issues. With the help of his teachers, he is overcoming his problems.

My child has been attending Slidell High School for 2 months and I am beginning to develop serious concerns about this school. I truly believe that they are more concerned about how they rate and look to others than what is truly going on at the school. I have witnessed extreme inequality in how the students are treated. I have seen students rewarded for mediocre behavior and those who excelled were ignored -- which indicates to me that the atmosphere is political. Maybe I am missing the point and that is how all high schools are run. I have seen egregious judgment calls by their educators in the name of education. I am going to monitor this place very closely and will home school my child before I subject him/her to unfair decisions. I am not impressed.
