0 out of 5 stars, after frequent meetings with staff(principal, vice principal, school psychologist, student counselor) a PARA EDUCATOR bullied and traumatized my daughter using fear tactics and power moves (she ripped up a book my 5 year old drew about her and myself for no reason since they refuse to tell me what happened), the investigation took LESS THAN 24 HOURS And the principal had the audacity to tell me that there was no evidence to prove the para educator did anything to my daughter. These are the kinds of people they have around our children. Then she had the audacity to tell me I don’t communicate with her teachers about her progress when it is in fact her teacher who refuses to respond to me! They try to label a kid who is just too smart for her class(as she and I have mentioned that she learned this stuff in pre k last year) as a special needs child. All the principal wants to do is get us to transfer her to another school instead of doing her job and focusing on making my child’s experience here better!

Wow where do i start, I have had my three children go through Drew Elementary School and its been an honor to have experienced the best of the best at their best. The principle and staff gets it they understand the process of raising and educating our future, the timing, the caring, the meetings, the book fairs, the pajamas nights, the nature walks. Its been a great privilege to experience the education system at its best, and now my last child is moving on to middle school . I have to honestly say I will make it my duty to find ways to stay involved with drew and give back. Hats off to DR Charles R Drew Elementary School .

Excellent. This has been the best elementary school in the Montgomery County public school systems, the level of excellence has been maintained through out the years. All of our kids attended this school from Head start through 5th Grade and I have never ever ever had an incident that has caused us as parents to doubt the abilities of these great educators.

I am very excited about the changes taking place at Drew, long overdue, we welcome the new administration who have a focus on parent involvement! The face lift, with a new roof, freshly painted walls and out side of the building looks great. New playground equipment was put in this summer! The school got promethean boards in all the classroom, I am only sad to say as an Arts integration model school the Music and Art room were not considered classrooms and did not receive promethean boards. I believe Music Art and PE teach the entire school population though. As a parent of 5th grader I feel the staff work very hard to make the school a great place learn.

THIS IS A VERY RUDE SCHOOL! The other staff are quite nice, but the principle here is just crazy! My mom came to pick my brother up one day, and she waited in the parking lot for about 30 minutes. He didn't come out so she thought he rode the bus and so she drove home. Later, we got a call from the school to pick up my brother. My mom can't speak English very well and when she went to pick him up, the principle was RAGING MAD! My mom didn't know what to say or do since she can't speak English and the principle said that she was going to even call the cops! I called to make sure everything was okay while my mom was at the school, and I could hear the principle yelling at her! I don't like seeing my mom hurt, and when she came home, she was VERY UPSET of how they treated her...I really think they should get a new principle for the upcoming school year. Not to mention, my brother says that a lot of the students swear and don't have respect for others. I am positive he will not be attending this awful school next year. I definitely think improvements need to be made.
