This is not a good environment for children. School is administered by a board of directors that appears to create a privileged environment for their own children at the expense of the larger student body. Education is questionable as STEM is non-existent, clubs are unheard of or completely inactive, and the facts taught by many teachers are just completely false. Advanced classes are advanced for Morgan, but not compatible to AP classes in normal schools. When your child is placed in an advanced class, you are told that it is NOT AP. The school was founded to counter forced integrations and has continued that tradition. Outsiders of any race are tolerated only because they pay tuition. Bullying is rampant and ignored by the administration. It appears to the general population that board members children are given spots on sports teams and cheer squads while more talented children are pushed aside. The school lacks any semblance of a modern educational facility. There is no library, no science lab, no robotics, no computer lab, no FFA, HOSA, DECA, ROTC, foreign language other than Spanish, career guidance, ESE, or anything you would expect from the smallest public school. The majority of the students have never left Selma and attended preschool together and have never been welcoming to incoming students. This whole experience over the past few years has left me feeling helpless and my child will make a 44 minute commute to a different school next year to escape the horrible things happening to them there. Under the current administration and board, I would strongly recommend you go anywhere else but Morgan. The toxic environment is harmful to the children they are supposed to be helping.

I got to college and realized I never was taught algebra. Students receive no education and are at a massive academic disadvantage compared to their peers. Unfortunately, still probably the best option if you live in Selma.

JTMA IN SELMA ,ALABAMA IS AN EXCELLENT SCHOOL . I RATE IT THE BEST IN THE STATE. I AM REALLY THANKFUL THAT MY SON COULD ATTEND JTMA. STUDENTS ARE CHALLENGED ON A DAILY BASIS AND THE TEACHERS DO THEIR VERY BEST TO KEEP UP THE SCHOOL'S EXCELLENT STANDARD. MY SON ENJOYED GOING TO JTMA. I RATE THIS SCHOOL NUMBER 1 ON A NATIONAL BASIS .

this is by far the WORST school i have ever sent my child to. since we moved to selma from another state, we didnt know much about the schools here except morgan academy is suppose to be the "best" school in dallas county. i noticed the school has an "elite" group of parents and kids. to be in this group you have to of had grown up here or be part of their dingy country club. i have so many regrets about sending my children here. they come home sad or angry everyday because of how they were treated by the kids at that school. also, im paying so much money for terrible education. their teachers are very uneducated to be called teachers. my kids have had very good grades until transferring. i decided to read over the work they gave them. its all based on the opinion of the teacher. it has nothing to do with the information in the book. from what my children have said, the teachers are not to informed on the subject they are teaching. lastly, this school is old and unsanitary. i dont think they clean it. to sum this up, this school is dilapidated, overpriced, uneducated and snobbish. i would not and ever recommend this school to anyone. this is a sorry excuse for a school.

I have attended various school as a result of my father's job and out of all the schools I have ever attended this was by far the worse. As someone who is a minority, I faced a lot of prejudiced. The school absolutely lacked diversity and it is even discouraged. Additionally, the staff was beyond inadequate. The teachers lacked knowledge of their subject and allowed the students to do whatever they pleased. The school provided no intellectual stimuli. The Headmaster is just as inadequate. He makes no attempts to improve the school and is only interested in receiving monthly payments. Discipline is surpassed by the family's income. I do not understand how this school could possibly receive any praise. Ultimately, students were able to get by on their parents status and wealth. They paid their way towards a college degree rather than through academic gain and pursuits. The lack of electives provided no opportunities for students to receive a well-rounded education. Furthermore, advanced courses are not available with the exception of Honors English (which is still not at an AP level) which one simply paid an extra tuition fee. This school is a joke.
