We are so glad to have found St. George! The community is warm and welcoming. The principal and staff did an amazing job adjusting to the pandemic right from the beginning. Their goal is always fostering the growth of the whole child including having compassion for others, setting high academic expectations and learning how to be a leader. We would recommend this school highly!!

Through my unbiased opinion, I believe Saint George is an excellent elementary school. I know first-hand the experience Saint George has to offer. I know the principal and how much she cares about the students at Saint George. Mrs. Wingard is not only after wealth for the school. I can recall an assembly where she explained that every teacher at Saint George could be doing the same job at a public school with double the pay. That itself shows how much the teachers care about the school and it justifies Mrs. Wingard's efforts to raise money for the school and pay the under-payed teachers at Saint George.

My daughter went to this school from Preschool to 1st grade. We loved it at first. When O'Leary left & the new principal (Wingard) took over, the school changed. I observed and watched her play favorites with the students and family's. She let the PTA staff bully another parent for a little before she finally put a stop to it. We decided at that point that it wasn't a right fit for us or our family anymore. After we left we were talking to another parent who said that even the kids changed. His daughter asked a group if she could play with them and they told her that she couldn't because she didn't have the same hair color as them or she wasn't wearing pants like them. It was never like that when O'Leary was there. If you decide you would like to have your kid attend here I would think twice. I know we were not the only family that left because of this change.

I love it here. My daughter and nephew love it here. The preschool teachers are warm and welcoming. Communication with teachers is comfortable and easy. I am VERY protective of my child, and I trust the teachers at St. George to take very good care of her. What warms my heart is when my daughter comes home to me, telling me that "Mommy, all my teachers love me, my friends love me, and God loves me too".

My family loves St. George Parish School. It's a small school (one class per grade +/- 28 kids) that used to be a neighborhood school but has shifted with demographics into a bit of a commuter school--lots of kids from outside of Seattle. Great parental involvement, lots of school pride and spirit, very positive environment and solid academics. It's a collection of people--mostly great, a few so-so, none bad. Not perfect, but nothing is. We have zero regrets with St. George.

I used to be a big fan of this school. I raved to friends how awesome it was. NOW, that is no longer the case. Since O'Leary left & the new principal (Wingard) has taken over, the school has changed. Unfortunately, for the worst. If you are a person with lots of wealth, the principal will do everything in her power to make this the best experience for you & your child. If not, be prepared to be snubbed. Her recent hiring with the Math & Spanish teacher are questionable. Several parents complained that the music teacher yells & belittles children. The Spanish teacher is teaching the material incorrectly & children are told to use Google translator to do homework. Well then what I am paying for? If you have a problem, don't bother seeking help from the principal. If you want to observe your child/teacher in class, be prepared. It's not as welcoming as it may seem (be prepared to be questioned as to why you want to observe a class). My advice if you are thinking about this school. Talk to several parents who currently attend this school since the new hire, you will get the real deal. Don't be fooled by what is portrayed at the all school meetings.

This school is really a hidden gem as stated below. The teachers are invested, energetic and caring. The new principal has brought a tremendous amount of positive energy, expertise in education and great leadership. She truly cares about every family attending St. George and my kids wake up and look forward to school everyday!

we were quite impressed by the academic requirements but not so impressed by the principal's reluctance to address behavioral concerns/issues which negatively impacted the learning environment for other students who were there to learn... if you can get past that, your child will be academically prepared for high school but know they may have battled socially and emotionally to get there.

My review was raving two years ago, and how wrong I was! The school turned on us, and refused to address our child's educational needs. The principal at the time did not lead the educational process, but rather allowed the teachers to decide how and what to teach. If a teacher is good, you are very lucky, otherwise the picture is grim, and the pricipal refused to deal with any concerns. We ended up leaving the school, and already see how much better off we are!!!
