I love SHA - My child is flourishing and I look forward to my youngest going next year. Everything they do is amazing and I couldn't dreamed of a better school or teachers for my children. Thank you SHA!!!

Our family has been blessed with the discovery of this gem of a school. The teachers are involved both academically and socially. Our child has thrived in this loving and supportive environment, and we're looking forward to a long relationship!

I feel extremely fortunate to have my daughter attend Savannah Honor Academy (SHA) . I could not envision a better learning environment for her. She is excited each day to attend school, admires her teachers, and has achieved a high level of educational growth, confidence, and character development over the past three years. I wish more children could have this amazing opportunity. Choosing SHA was one of the best decisions we have made thus far as parents.

A wonderful, supportive learning environment. Each child can be him or herself, and each child is celebrated. The small class size is a huge plus too. My child has thrived here.

SHA is fabulous. My child just completed her first year and was sad that it is summer time! The teachers and children motivate each other to do well and learn more. There is a big emphasis on successful conflict resolution and there are rewards for acts of kindness. I have been shocked at the progress made with writing, reading and math throughout the year. The class size is small and her teacher knows what is going on with the students personally and academically. They are allowed to progress as far as they want to and also to stay on-level. Any concerns are mentioned immediately and communication is swift and easy. Couldn't have had a better experience.

SHA develops the whole person. My daughter comes home each day, inspired by her school work, confident in her knowledge, and eager to learn more. Her teacher is vested in her success and has cultivated an amazing community of students and families. Sha is the greatest community our family could ask for

There is not a better school - private or public - in the city of Savannah. If I were to put down on paper all the things that I wished for in a school - individualized attention, respect and building friendships/communities, fostering critical thinking, exploring a diverse set of topics/disciplines (just to name a few) - then SHA is the reality of those dreams. The teachers are engaged and truly love working with children and helping students achieve their highest academic potential. Even beyond that, the teachers are masterful instructors at helping students navigate the social aspects of growing up. My son has flourished in all aspects of his education while at SHA, and we are so thankful that a school like this exists in Savannah.

Mrs. Cocalis creates a magical classroom environment where learning is fun, kids are engaged and respectful, and enthusiasm is boundless!

When I met Mrs Cocolis and Mrs Ameduri, I instantly felt at home. I knew this was the school I've always dreamt for my children. My son has flourished is all areas including his social skills. He comes home telling me about multiplication and he's only 5! If my child shows an interest in a subject, Mrs Cocolis will take the time to teach it to him. These two teachers have the purest hearts. Our family is incredibly lucky to have these two beautiful beings in our lives. No matter what state my husband might relocate to for his job, I am determined to stay here as long as I can so my children can receive the best and nurturing education possible. There is no other school like this.

Imagine if an educator had the power to build a dream school from scratch. If they were free to create a model comprised of the most successful parts of various curricula. The end result would be something that looked a lot like SHA.Mss. Cocalis and Ameduri do a lot of things right, but here’s a list of what stands out to me, a parent of a 9 year old at the school.• Modeled Behavior: The teachers exemplify the correct way to act in the classroom (and beyond), especially regarding social skills and conflict resolution. Students are treated with respect and support, and they behave in kind. It’s also in marked contrast to the shouting and shaming that occurred in my child's previous school.• Teaching to the Student: SHA differentiates instruction to meet each student right at their own level on each subject. When you approach teaching this way, traditional grade levels become kind of irrelevant. I think this is some of the magic behind the mixed-age classroom. Students get individualized instruction from the teacher, but they teach (and learn from) their peers as well.• Recess: Two, 45-minute blocks spread throughout the day! My child’s prior school had one recess period at the end of the day before dismissal - when it wasn’t withheld as punishment. Before SHA, my child’s response to school ranged from boredom to flat out resistance. Now, at SHA. my child loves school. It’s hard to pull them away at the end of the day. I moved to Savannah for work, and I may relocate again before my child finishes at SHA. I loathe that happening, because I honestly don’t know if I can find another school ANYWHERE that I am as happy with.

My daughter has blossomed into a little writer since attending Savannah Honor Academy. I love this school and the staff is amazing!! The small classroom setting allows for specific individual needs to be addressed. Savannah Honor Academy nurtures their students individual talents allowing them to have fun while learning. My daughter's reading and writing skills have improved tremendously since attending SHA she now enjoys writing and reading aloud without hesitation. K. Williams

Savannah Honor Academy has been a blessing to my family. My son has vastly improved in his math skills due to dedication and hardwork after hours from Mrs. Cocalis. Her awesome teaching styles has provided my son with the confidence he needed to succeed in a scholastic atmosphere.

My granddaughter attends Savannah Honor Academy and her parents and I have been extremely impressed with her progress not only in her reading and comprehension skills, but in her improved positive attitude. Mrs. Cocolis' inspiring methodology and encouragement has helped my granddaughter to be more engaged in learning, more imaginative and creative in her thinking, and kinder and more respectful to others.

I cannot say enough about the Savannah Honor Academy. My daughter started kindergarten there this year and even within the first few months I have seen her grow and flourish. The school provides so much freedom for the children, giving them plenty of time for outdoor activity, space to grow in their own creativity and lots of room to move at their own academic pace. The other day I walked in and my 5 year old addressed me in German and was on the board writing contractions because she saw the older students learning it and she wanted to learn too! The Savannah Honor Academy has far surpassed any and all of my expectations, and I genuinely feel that the children attending are extremely blessed and fortunate and will be MORE than prepared for a wonderful life ahead of them.

Savannah Honor Academy has ignited my son's passion for learning. The small class creates an opportunity for focused, creative, effective, and most of all enjoyable days filled with learning. Mrs. Cocalis has most definitely identified a great formula for early learning. My son and I look forward to each and every school day. I am totally and completely satisfied with his growth and advancement. We can hardly wait for what the future at Savannah Honor Academy has in store for our son!

PART 2 OF 2....I see the difference Mrs. Cocalis makes in my children everyday. Her passion for teaching and her energy appears just as strong at the end of the day as in the beginning. Neither of my kids want to leave school in the afternoon. They are still having fun learning, reading stories, playing games, creating, etc. Each day is one of discovery. The joy of learning is back, and this is the best gift a teacher could give to a student.

Savannah Honor Academy is amazing! My child needs a nurturing teacher and a challenging curriculum. SHA offers exactly that. Unlike other schools where some kids struggle to keep up with the class or others may be bored because they are quicker learners, SHA offers every child the chance to succeed at their best! Mrs. Cochalis believes in rewarding/recognizing good behavior which is great for a child's self esteem. My child has already learned so much while attending SHA for such a short time. The amazing thing is learning is fun. Lots of hands-on learning projects. This is how all schools should be modeled!

All schools should be like this! Kids of various ages & backgrounds working and collaborating together as their own little community. Mrs Cocalis is amazing! She works with each child's learning style to help them excel, become confidant students and empowered. My kids are so much further ahead than they would be anywhere else and they can't wait to go to school each day! We love SHA!
