The school had a bad support system and a lot of the teachers in the later grades were not the best with young children. I feel like they need new teachers to teach the kids, a lot of the time my brother and sister who both go their now dont like it im in high school and they somehow have more homework than me and the work seems off. The one in 4th grade who can very well read and write is still getting taught the abcs , and my sister in 5th grade doesn’t know what division is she said none of her teachers have mentioned it in lessons or problems involving it, so I asked her what she did in class and she said that they were learning double digit addition, which she had already learned since 2nd grade. There are soooo many more red flags that come from this school. The worst one was that when we tried to get a 504 in place to help my brother with severe autism they said he “didn’t qualify” and did not provide any reason as to why. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE If you are a parent reading this do not put your kid or kids in this school.

Alta Vista is such a special place with dedication from the administration that I've never witnessed anywhere else. They are moving fast paced, doing anything that needs to be done, all for the the children's success. Parent University and Eagle Academy has won national recognition and shown how hard everyone is working to help students, especially those with obstacles, be successful. I highly recommend this school if you value diversity, innovation, and a genuinely hard-working staff.

Horrible school. According to registrar is a Title IV school where They attend families in most need and also get children with behavior problems. My child was shot with a BB gun. Principal and teachers don't enforce respect and anty-bullying. Have wisdom before you put your child there!

My daughter is a 4th grader at Alta Vista and she has grown so much in the last 5 years. In those 5 years she has had excellent teachers and wonderful opportunities.

If it wasn't for the fact that I insist on my daughter taking advanced classes, I would not have her attend this school. The programs they offer for young students are great BUT the teacher/parent interaction is questionable at best. There is much to be desired in the field of communication with my daughters teachers and their communication with her at times as well. Overall, if your child is not in need of advanced classes, I suggest you try some where else first.
