If you love your kid, run away from WR.

Very bad experience. A bunch of entitle children who bullies the good kids, the teachers doesn’t do nothing so don’t say I didn’t warn you - if your child will stand up against the bullies he will never be able to participate in group sport and be forced to sit in the sun. The teachers are inpatients and the principle isn’t even picking up her phone or returning calls. This is the worse school in the Santa Monica district. Only special ED teachers is good here. Like Erin, which is wonderful.

Especially the Special Ed. Teacher Ms.Aimee Peterson, who is Outstanding and has made an incredible difference in the lives of her students. :)

We looked at other schools in the area when we first entered our child three years ago from NYC, choosing Will Rogers due to proximity (and difficulty moving to other schools in SM). We had no idea how much we'd grow to love this school and the community over the past few years. Our child is excelling in math (it is STEM school...not just lip service) writing and critical thinking. They are taught leadership and compassion by incredible teachers and staff. We have 2 more kids on the Will rogers path, one in Pre-K and one right behind her. We couldn't be happier. GO ROGERS!

Amazing and dedicated teaching staff. Provide wonderful challenging and fun curriculum through the STEM focus. Diversity of the school provides a wonderful cultural experience. My kids have made lifelong friends.

I am new to the Will Roger's community, but it already feels like home. It's hard to say why this school is so much better than "just a 7" on the ranking because the other reasons have nothing to do with standardized testing. That's just one measure of efficacy in a school. Will Rogers supports the kids as people and their families too. It helps teach them how to build relationships and community, how to manage tough feelings, and really supports holistic development. You can't measure that on a test of math or reading. Those are important, but just a facet of the whole story.I am a parent of a very strong, confident, resilient child with big feelings. The transition to this school and city hit our family hard and our child especially. She began acting out in ways we had never seen before, and we were worried and unsure how to support her. The school stepped in beautifully. Fearing that they might assume she was a bad kid or we were bad parents, we never heard or saw ANYTHING that even hinted at that. In fact, they were so supportive. Coming together, helping her, helping us, helping each other- all with the same goal.Months later, we are coming out of the transition. She loves school again. She feels settled and there hasn't been any acting out. I can't express to you how relieved I am and how grateful I am to the support from my new community.Yes. Grades are important. Math, reading, science- these are all important. She'll be fine with that, and I am not worried here because I know that she will be able to benefit from class time now that she has started figuring out all the social and emotional pieces. But teaching my daughter how to manage herself and navigate challenges has been the most important thing that this school has given us.Thank you, Will Rogers Learning Community.

ITs hard to express why this is such a special school, you just have to experience the community, the VERY involved parents and the amazing staff we have here. I have a son who went through now at JAMS< and a 2nd grader . The diversity of this school is what makes it so special, children learn empathy and community. If you go WRLC , you definitely have to be a part of the PTA , so you get involved with the school activities and the parents. This is a huge part of the school. We have an ART teacher, music , science, and a math magnet. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

All my children thrived at this gem of a school. The community feeling here is special, many of the staff and parents and grandparents attended this school. It is a school that many years ago received a 10 year Annenberg restructuring grant, which was wisely used to create a learning community environment. This is one where the staff works together in a highly professional manner to constantly improve their teaching practices based on best practices and a consistently supportive learning environment. My children all went on to great colleges, proud that they went to Rogers. I know the school has only become even better.

My daughter is in Kindergarten here and although I didn't plan on being at this school I am so incredibly happy we ended up here at our neighborhood school! There is a great family environment, wonderful teachers a new amazing principle that truly cares and is taking measures to continue to improve the school in every area. To is a STEM focused school, of which I knew nothing about before and now am so grateful my kids are partaking in this inquiry based learning style. I have joined the PTA and am active alongside an real unique and diverse well rounded group of parents who truly have made me feel at home and show tier passion for the school!

I bcame a single dad in 2009 with my daughter in 2nd grade and my son in 1st grade. Both of the children had been living with mom since our divorce. Mom was no longer able to care for the children and moved 3000 miles away. Both children were emotionally devestated. My financial situation was nothing to be desired so my only option was to entoll both kids into the local elementary school. That school happened to be Will Rogers Lealrning Community. Within a few weeks I began to realize our good fortune! Teachers and administration were contacting me to come by and discuss our family's situation. The kids were given CREST afternoon program. We were referred services onsite and off. No one ever gave up on my kids and the whole child approach has transformed my two children into successful learners who enjoy school, music, sports and best of all, to be good friends and good citizens. If you live in the neighborhood, don't even think about sending your children elsewhere! No amount of money or standardized test scores will give your child and your family what Rogers will give you. 5 stars+!

Will Rogers Learning Community is outstanding. We are so happy to be at our home public school and can actually walk to school. The teachers care about all the kids in class and want to see all succeed. The community of parents and business leaders continue to support the school through many outstanding programs; science, art, music and P.E. all start in kindergarten. The school has a Green Team that supports "greening the school" with the help of the student body not just parents...so it is a true team effort...and a learning experience. The PTA is a strong supporter of the curriculum, facilities improvements and the over well being of all the families at Will Rogers. My kids love to go to school!

My child was supposed to go to another Santa Monica Elementary school; however, I was so impressed with Will Rogers, I made the switch. I'm so glad we did! Excellent teachers, a fabulous principle that knows parents and children by first name, STEM, Ipad lab, Art program, music program, the list goes on. The community is great as well with a strong PTA. Don't let the test scores fool you. This school has so much to offer!

After 2 years at Will Rogers, I couldn't be happier as a parent to see my child thrive in this wonderful school! The teachers, staff and principal are amazing, and I feel like my son is off to a great start in education! With more and more local families enrolling, I can see this community school growing stronger year by year and am extremely proud to be a Will Rogers parent.

as a parent of four who have gone through Rogers, I can attest to the amazing school it is. The teachers are incredible and really work well together. I truly believe that Rogers is unique in this way. It is a community and our principal is a fantastic leader. All of my children have received a top notch education -- my oldest is now on her way to USC -- thank you Rogers for getting her off to a great start!
