Some of the teachers are great but the principal is extremely rude and thinks she knows what’s best for children that aren’t hers and will power trip on you if you let her. I personally was disrespected and belittled by the principal more than once. If you have a child without any big behavioral issues I think this school is a good option but if you need resources and meaningful help with a child that does have behavioral issues in the classroom I would avoid this school at all costs.

Dover is a great school! It has a dedicated staff that is committed to providing a safe and welcoming school environment where all students are being prepared for college and career. The school has been totally rebuilt with state-of-the-art facilities and technology. Dover currently has a waiting list in many grades. Students enjoy a challenging academic program that also includes ample sports and arts activities. Students have many caring adults that they can talk to including teachers, the principal, counselors, coaches, and classified staff. There are also a lot of parent volunteers at Dover to support students. Dover has a Climate Committee composed of the principal, teachers, and parents that sets school rules, reinforces positive student behavior, and reviews consequences. The principal takes appropriate action to maintain school discipline in accordance with school and district policies. Bullying is not tolerated and students are encouraged to talk to an adult if they need help with a peer issue. Dover is a full service community school where students and families can receive additional services at the school site, including medical services and many different adult classes.

We are a proud Dover family! My kids love going to school and are missing it already now that it is summer LOL! We love the new buildings and playgrounds. The teachers and the principal seem very dedicated and my kids are doing well in their learning. I also like how Dover has classes for parents and a preschool. I think Dover deserves a higher rating from this website.
