Two of our children are attending St. Timothy and we really like it. Supportive community, caring principal, teachers and staffs. Friendly environment at every levels. Teachers show high academic expectations as well as students' manners and attitudes. Traditional virtues and values with open and acceptive mindset. Great school. I am glad our children can grow up here. Thank you!

We love St. Timothy School! Family oriented, diverse, inclusive and overall a wonderful school. The teachers are focused on the students success and will assist in their needs. I feel like my children matter and their education is important to the teachers and administration. My child struggled in public school and now he is getting the support he needs through St. Timothy's School.

Belonging, inclusiveness, community are 3 words that come to mind when I think about our experience here at St. Timothy's. Everone from the teachers, staff, parents and principal deeply care for my children. To have a principal that knows each child and each family by name sure says a lot. I know my children are safe, have made deep connections with peers and are getting the best education and support. I cannot recommend St. Timothy's enough.

We couldn’t be more pleased with St. Timothy’s as a family. The friendships built, not only for our children but also as parents, have been amazing! The teachers and staff are more than trusted educators in my mind. They are approachable, relatable and part of a team to ensure my child is cared for and successful. Our campus is diverse with single classrooms per grade. St. Timothy’s has an extremely supportive tight knit community that you won’t be disappointed to be a part of.

We struggled with deciding where to send our daughter a number of years ago and landed on St Timothy’s. We could t be happier with the school and now have 2 kids there. It’s a wonderful and inclusive multicultural environment that encourages the kids to be kind. We are not a religious family, and the school understands that and includes us the same as all families. The principal and secretary are maybe the nicest people I’ve ever met. They’re super responsive and helpful. The teachers have all been phenomenal and there is so much extra support. The younger classes all have a dedicated teaching assistant, and there is a wonderful learning assistance teacher who works with the kids who need additional help. We also love that there is only one class per grade so the kids get to stay with their same friends throughout. The after school care is great - it’s really flexible and very affordable. I highly recommend St Timothy School to any parents looking for a great environment for their kids to learn.

When we moved to San Mateo in 2015 we wanted to place our kids in a school that would foster an effective, challenging learning environment, good education,& that has a sense of community.St.Timothy has all of these. My oldest daughter graduated from St.Timothy during a challenging time in 2020 & the staff was so helpful & adaptive to all the changes during the pandemic. My son has been going there since 1st grade now we enrolled our youngest daughter in Kindergarten.

We transferred our daughters to St. Tim's from a local public school 3 years ago - when they were in 1st and 3rd grades - and we could not be more pleased with our decision! Our girls were immediately welcomed into the warm, supportive school community. The fact that the school is small - one class per grade - creates a true community feeling, and importantly, the small size allows individualized attention for each child, not only from their classroom teacher(s), but from the principal, Ms. Basile, and the lead administrative assistant, Mrs. Allen. Ms. Basile's commitment to the students - and her commitment to making St. Tim's the best school that it can be - is palpable, and she has been a phenomenal leader through preparing safety protocols during the pandemic, always with clear and frequent communication with parents to ensure that any questions and concerns were/are addressed. She is remarkably responsive to the students and parents. We are not a religious family, but feel at home in the St. Tim's community, where the emphasis in religious teaching is on values, respect, and most importantly, kindness. I could not give a higher recommendation!

Our family has joined the St. Timothy school in 2015 and I am amaze how welcoming the community was and felt that my family belong there. I like that the school is open to all faiths and focuses in teaching my child how to treat everyone equally and with kindness. The school helped my child to develop into this wonderful being that is open, diverse and respectful of everyone's culture. The teacher and school staff are kind and nice. If ever I have questions, the parents who have been their for quite, are such great resources. I love that they have affordable after school child care which gives me the flexible especially being a single parent to be able to work late and still have the confidence that my child is being cared for when I'm ready to get her after school. I like that she has the opportunity to play sports and learn from wonderful coaches on how to be disciplined and teamwork which she can take when she leaves this school. The academic is well balanced and prepare them for high school. Overall I am very pleased with this school and the education that my daughter have received which she will bring with her all through her life.

Our family joined St Timothy several years ago and were amazed at how welcoming the community was. Our kids are getting a wonderful education in a diverse accepting community and our kids will have the tools to easily transition to high school. I like that the school is open to all faiths and focuses on teaching the students to treat each other with kindness. The administrative staff is wonderful and kind. They provide a good structure and are understanding and helpful with parents. The school also has many wonderful teachers. The school employs an online portal for students and parents where announcements, homework assignments, grades, events, etc. etc. are all available to stay informed. They also have a 'before' and 'after' care program with great staff. The cost (~$7.00/hr) is extremely reasonable and we are allowed to drop them off or pick them up whenever, making it very flexible too. The sports program is not Division 1 but it is getting better. My kids have had some really great coaches and have learned a lot. Overall I would give this school top marks and am happy we joined this community.

We were deciding between two schools many years ago when our oldest was entering K, and we chose St. Tim's. It was the right decision. This is a vibrant, caring community and it's been great to see its positive effect on our kids.

This is a terrific school. The staff is so caring and dedicated and obviously love teaching. The principal, Mrs. Basile, is phenomenal and sets such a warm tone. I've always felt that my kids were seen as individuals here. There is an authentic spirituality to the school, too, which shows up in the curriculum and the activities; kids are taught to see themselves as global citizens and to care for others.

As a parent that transitioned two kids from a good public school to St. Timothy’s we have been extremely grateful that we made this decision. My son graduated last year (attended 6,7, and 8 grade). The middle school teachers saw his academic strengths here and helped him excel. They prepared him for high school and currently he is taking several advanced classes at a private school and is maintaining A’s. The kids that did not get the best of grades and currently attending public high schools in the area are exceling as well. So it shows that St. Timothy’s prepares kids for high school and in addition gives them a sense of community. My second child is doing great as well. She gets plenty of homework and projects that keep her engaged. It motivates and teaches her to start new projects on her own that are not school related. We are not Catholic and did not base our decision on attending the school for religious reasons, however we as a family have enjoyed learning about all religions. Current principal, office staff, and all teachers we have had thus far have been exceptional and accommodating. Regarding the comment of the sports coordinator being unorganized. Yes, I do see that being the case as I believe the organizer is a volunteer and there should be more organization here. Once the coaches take over they usually deal with the coordinators, so the kids are not impacted. My kids play(ed) sports in and outside the school. We enjoy being a part of this community.

We did not bring our kids back last year for a few reasons. Sports program is really bad - the athletic director used to be some guy who didn't even have a kid at he school anymore so he was never around or able to help. The new athletic director doesn't really know the rules and is very unorganized so it is hard to put teams together because the information is always handed out last minute. The principal is nice but she is new so she doesn't really understand how unorganized the sports program and she doesn't really understand the rules and deadlines herself. Sports is a big reason why we chose private over public school so the fact that the state of the sports program is important. We put our kids in another local school with a proven sports program and we had a great year...I do not miss St. Timothy's at all. If you are looking for a well rounded school (which is what you pay for) St. Timothy's is NOT it. We were nervous about starting over but it is way better now and I wish we did it sooner!

My son graduated from this school last year and had a terrific experience. Many of the kids he graduated with still keep in touch with each other, be it at their new schools or as "get togethers" the kids and/or parents have made happen. This is a very community-minded school, where both the kids and the parents can be involved and feel like they belong. It's a school where a little contribution goes a long way. It's a school where the teachers and staff care about you and your kids. I'm so happy we sent our son to St. Timothy School. And even though he has already graduated, I continue to support the school and expect I always will. Great school with lots of heart and prepared my son well to succeed in school and in life!

I have always had a very good experience with all staff members of this school. It's refreshing to have a principal who truly cares about the students and their families. She knows each child's name including their parents and also siblings who aren't in the school yet. She attends almost all the events and although she may not make it to some sports games, she'll pop into their practices to show some support. I don't blame her for taking some time for herself. I really don't know how she does it with the many hours she puts in (not leaving until after 8pm most nights) but I really appreciate her dedication and the way she cares about the school as a whole. The office secretary is the backbone of the school. She is always friendly and welcoming. She is the go-to person for whatever you need or question you have. There is nothing she can't do. I have always had pleasant interactions with her. She is truly amazing and treats your child as if they were hers. I feel very fortunate to have my children in a school that is safe, nurturing and has a great academic focus.

I am an alumni of St. Timothy (and Catholic education all the way through College) and now my child goes here. I have seen this school go through many principals - some of them terrible. I have seen this school when there was absolutely no community involvement. I am very impressed at the unity and diversity the school demonstrates. Ms Timmons is doing the best she can and in my opinion doing a fabulous job. She is not superwoman and attend every single event YOU think she should be at. She also has to answer to the Archdiocese which is where the negative comments should be directed. They are messing up all the important work the Catholic School principals have been accomplishing. As far as the school secretary goes I know she has been there for approximately 30 years. She has been what has kept many families in the school...especially in the years of bad leadership and NO leadership at all. She has an institutional memory that should be respected. Again...let me ask the question...maybe it's you? Be respectful and that is what you will get in return. Catholic School 101.
