My kid went to Scholars Academy for almost 4 years and had a wonderful time! Her love for reading stemmed from this school.

Scholars academy has an excellent curriculum with very caring teachers. It is no wonder they have been around for 30 plus years.

Would not recommend Scholar Academy preschool to any parent. Non stop complaints from teacher I decided to stop sending my kid here. Well if they don’t know how to take care of little kids then why the heck Open school. My kid is pretty good at taking nap, eating food and overall everything at home and outside with friends. If kid is not sleeping in school then figure out way to make them sleep, if kid is not eating food then figure out how to make them eat. I had nightmare experience with them, my kid wouldn’t eat for 11 hours while at there school and eat food right after I pick him from school. It felt like they are least interested in spending time and training kid. First it’s an expensive school then your service is horrible. They scold kids all the time. Who screams at 3 year old. It’s an offense. They should change staff and keep young teachers if the old ones can’t do the job. They are worst and teaching kids how to behave and then they give home work to a 3 year old. Worst preschool ever. I regret changing my kids old school and having him go thru this nightmare place experience. Also the staff is whole bunch of liars. I caught them liars many times. They believe in time out policy vs teaching/training lil kids. Why open preschool when you can’t handle. I saw my kids tired, hungry and hurt every single day. So relieved we have changed the school. Never going back here and wouldn’t recommend to parents who rely on school to do there job right and take care of kids.

My children have been attending Scholar's Academy (preschool and elementary) for a year. The school does a great job of challenging the children and also letting them be children. The teachers do a great job of acheiveing academic excellence through innovative and FUN techniques. I know that when I drop my children off they are in excellent hands and are taken care of with warmth and attention. The small class sizes are great, esp with all the cut backs in the public schools, and allows for appropriate one on one attention. As previously mentioned by another parent, it would be great to see an increase in upper grades enrollment! I would undoubtedly recommend Scholar's Academy. I'm glad a friend made the recommendation to me and I acted on it!

My daughter has been to this school for 2 years of elementary now. I must say that it is astounding how available the teachers are to talk about any issues that are presenting. The teachers strive to achieve a very high level of academic excellence and the expectations for children include lots of homework, science fair projects, speech and debate (though this is less challenging), poetry writing, spelling bee, some light drama, computers, singing, dancing (very basic), weekly spelling packets and polite/respectful behavior. The children have opportunities to play with each other after school and at brief recess breaks. The book selections for free reading are limited. Some teachers are exceptional at reaching the children, particularly the Science teacher, Ms. D. The staff really know the children and the children receive an outstanding amount of individual attention. All the children are doing a great job and it's a reflection on the supportive environment. The principal is also very supportive and warm. Only downside is lower enrollment in the upper grades, but I"m hoping that will change as the word gets out on the school as will the parent involvement!

My child loves this school. The teachers are nurturing and attuned to every child's learning style. The curriculum is well balanced with academics and extra curricular activities. I would give it six stars if I could!
