My daughter was at this school from K-3rd grade. This school is very diverse and they tries to incorporate all cultures. The school tries to find ways to help the students experience different things. I was very happy I didn't chose this school based on the scores but went to see for myself how hard they work for the kids.

This is the best school in the area for students with learning differences! My son is challenged in his social behavioral skills and had gone through a few different schools before he came to Lynhaven. He was enrolled in Room 18 with Mrs. Martin and has been in love with school since day 1. We have seen tremendous improvements in the past 5 months and are thrilled to see him developing social as well as academic skills. Before Lynhaven we went to the so-called "top-rated" private schools like Stratford (Sunnyvale) and Old Orchard only to be told by the program directors that students like my son were "not welcome" at the school and should be "weeded out". The educators showed no willingness to work with different children and were concerned that kids with learning differences are going to lower the average academic scores. What cut-throat competitive mindset this is! Certainly fits well in Wall Street, but fails the mission of a true educator. We are happy that we came to Lynhaven! The teachers are super nice and caring. They truly love what they do, unlike the ones at Stratford, who would not bother to even greet the "less favored" kids as they are being dropped off. I will never go back.

Amazing school! Super sad we had to move because of the amazing staff and the INCREDIBLE principal, Mrs. Rowan! If your looking for an elementary school for your child near San Jose, COME TO LYNHAVEN!!! :) :)

Please don't be fooled by the rating this website gives this school. This school has provided an excellent learning environment for our son. We came from a district school that received "10" on this website and we are so much happier at Lynhaven. The staff is kind, patient, and truly accepting of all students. The children are lovely and come from diverse backgrounds which makes for a truly wonderful learning environment. Our son has learning and behavioral challenges and his teacher and staff have been supportive, positive, and so caring. He is learning by leaps and bounds every day at Lynhaven. Putting our child in this school was one of the best decisions we could have made for him.

Iam greatful my kids goes to one of the culturally diverse school like Lynhaven. They get to interact with other kids coming from different socio economic backgrounds. Learned to adjust and cope with the challenges in their daily living. I strongly believe their personalities will shape them to become emotionally intelligent person in the future. Lynhaven is a safe school and the parents are involved with school activities. I'm glad I made the right choice to start my kids here.

My child (1st grader) has been assalted 3 times in one school year. Twice by the same student. There seems to be a lack of adult supervision on the playgrounds and lack of urgency to fix any of these issues. We are told they are following District guidelines, but this is just TOO much.

This school is amazing! We have had such amazing teachers here the past 2 years! Our boys are learning so much and creating great friendships! Just wish there was more "afterschool activities" that the younger kids could do.

We are new to this school this year. Originally, we felt we were settling as we couldn't find a way to get our kids into a school with a higher rating and could no longer afford private school. Within just the first few weeks, we were extremely impressed. The teachers we have encountered are OUTSTANDING! I can't imagine better teachers. The principal seems a bit aloof and not very visible with the parents, but the quality of her staff would indicate she is doing a great job. The Vice Principal seems very involved and is outside every morning greeting students and parents. Parent involvement could be better, but the ones who are do a fantastic job organizing events. I know several families who live within this school's boundary and send their kids to private school. They are wasting a ton of money and should really give Lynhaven a try. I can tell you for certain that our kids are getting a much better education at Lynhaven than they were in private school.
