This school is not cleaned properly, and students' property gets stolen from them. I would not recommend bringing your child to pursue their education at this school; it is unsafe and not rated properly.

This school has improved ten fold in the past 15 years. I think their current score here is heavily influenced by the reputation that it had in the early 2000s. By people in the area it’s considered the better of the two schools in the Campbell union school district.

The reviews I’ve seen are pretty old so let me fill you in, most of the teachers are pretty new to the school but they are all great teachers they all are engaging and making sure you understand the subject they all personally helped me not fail their class they were just so amazing, I hadn’t realized this until I switched school’s. lets just say this school is nowhere near what Del Mar was. I really miss all my teachers especially Mr. Levy

I just moved my child out of this school. The staff at this school is CRAZY! Entire school has less than 1000 students, but they have 5 vice principals. The vice principal and principal can show up at your house un-announce anytime. The teachers are SO LAZY. My child turned in the work and the teachers don’t bother to grade them for weeks or even months. Then, they would give my child bad grades. Teachers are very political when they should not. My child was extremely unhappy at this school. I just moved my kid out of this school and my kid is very happy at the new school. I did not know how horrible this school is until my kid went there. Keep in mind that your kids have bad grades don’t always mean that it’s their fault. Teachers at this school are VERY LAZY. They don’t grade your kids’ work for weeks. They don’t mind given your kids bad grades and blame on the kids. Pay attention to your kids and listen to them tell you about their teachers and you will see how horrible these teachers are. I went to their meeting about the school, the staff dressed up like homeless. What kind of teachers are these people? They can’t even look presentable in front of the parents. Imagine when they are in class with our kids, they probably look like they just got out of bed or homeless sleeping in a tent with no shower. I would give this school a negative star if I could. This school is HORRIBLE. Do not send your kids here if you don’t have to. This school is horrible for your kids, trust me. Staffs and students are miserable at this school. They will make your kids miserable too.

horrible. Over all, if you have money, put your kids in private school or home school. If i knew this school is so bad, i would not put my kid in this school at all. This public school is all about LGBT.

So far very good - we are happy to see our son strive. We are glad that we send our son here instead of a private school. We can tell that the teachers and the principal are working very hard to strive and improve the reputation of Del Mar HS which was not always very positive in the past.

My son is in the 9th grade. As a parent, I am very happy with all of his teachers and the rigor of the curricula. His teachers actually teach, instead of just assign work. They take time to tutor or help after school, return email promptly, and are fair with their assignments/grading. All of his teachers are supportive and respectful. The class assignments make sense, and there is continuity across the subjects, in particular, in the area of writing. The Performing Arts/Band/Choir classes are exceptional and provide a great outlet for students to develop their musical abilities. I am very glad we stayed with the public school system.

Del Mar High School is the best school in the Campbell Union School District because the staff truly cares about the student's well being and takes a holistic approach on learning. They focus on academics, leadership, and teaching kids to become the next ambassadors of the future. My son is a Freshman this year and he is fully engaged in the academics and the community. What brought us to this school was the fact that they are the only school in the District that will be certified shortly as an world renowned International Baccalaureate School. If you want your student to truly accelerate in academics and become a leader of the 21st Century, I would definitely seek entrance to the school. If you would like more information on Del Mar's IB program, call the principal or the IB coordinator. Their names and numbers are located on the website. I would also encourage incoming parents to attend the PTSA meetings and IB meetings to see our committee's in action.L. Mendoza, IB Committee President

My daughter is a Freshman at Del Mar. With a student enrollment about half of that of the other high schools in the area there is more support from teachers not overloaded by overflowing classrooms. She is also able to be more involved in the student community, with plenty of lunch time club options and more no-cut sports opportunities. What has us most excited is the school's International Baccalaureate candidacy and the higher caliber of teaching candidates that the program has already brought to the school. We're both looking forward to the years ahead until she graduates.

My son is a freshman at Del Mar, and has been so excited to take advantage of the opportunities he's found at Del Mar! He's involved in community service through the Key Club (affiliated with Kiwanis), is active in Model UN, and a couple of other clubs. He has been totally accepted, even though he's a nerdy kid, totally not athletic. He came home from Middle School having seen the presentation about the IB program being established at Del Mar, and he wanted in! He's stayed enthusiastic and motivated, is getting very good grades, and is developing into an awesome member of the community, both at school and in general!
