Clairbourn provides a very nurturing environment for the students to learn in. Parents are always welcome on campus and mingle very well with the staff and teachers. Children are always encouraged to play with other children from other grade levels, which helps bond the student body more than any other school I have seen. The campus is always kept in tip-top shape. The kids never want to leave, even when school is over. That says a lot about the staff, teachers and overall atmosphere and environment of the school.

Clairbourn represents the first place where my wife and I felt safe to leave our daughter unattended, without us. It is the finest institution that I have ever set foot on and I am so grateful and proud that my wife and I found it and are able to afford to send our most prized possession, our daughter, to learn and grow there.

If I could give it a ZERO I would...For the learning there are about 20 children per class, about 12 if you attend the middle school, so you get plenty of opportunity to learn and get help 1 on 1, however, teachers don't do this very often...or at all.Teaching- The teachers were very biased and would often get upset and students for not understanding an assignment, I saw this happen to other classmates of mine and myself. There's absolutely no emotional support or care for mental health. They have no accommodations for special needs students. As far as your safety is concerned, the campus is safe and very beautiful, I never felt like I was in danger while attending Clairbourn, except I felt I was in dangered of getting bullied by students and staff. They are very involved with family and community, and honestly, it's just because they want your money. It's a small community, however, they know how much money each family has and aren't shy to put in pressure to give. You should ask yourself what you're donating your money to, cause the only change I ever saw while I was there was they put a third water fountain in the gym and added a shower in the girl's locker room, which I got in trouble for using so not sure why it's there. The bottom line is Clairbourn School only ever does anything for the money. I was severely bullied during my time there and I know others who were as well, but if the ones who were bullying had more money than your family, then they always win and that's just the sad truth. They want to please the parents so all of the richest kids get better treatment. BTW the administration also treats their teachers like trash, they should look into their Code of Conduct. I remember every time the Code of Conduct would be brought up during chapel and I would think to myself, "What's the point of having this if neither the students nor admin follows it...this school doesn't stand for the values it says it does." In the long run, if you're debating between public and private, send your kid to public school they will get tons more opportunities and meet people from lots of different backgrounds. Besides, colleges these days want students who are more well-rounded and you won't get that here. Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Clairbourn tries to take down my honest review cause it happened to someone else I know, but please keep what I said in mind for the sake of your children. Keep in mind, this is just my personal expeirience.

Both of my children have attended Clairbourn School for over 6 years, and they have thoroughly enjoyed their time there. I am immensely grateful that they have developed leadership skills and become proficient public speakers during their time at the school. The supportive and kind staff have played a crucial role in nurturing their confidence. Additionally, Clairbourn offers ample opportunities for students to explore various interests, making it an ideal choice for parents seeking a well-rounded education for their children.

My daughter went to Clairbourn school from JPK, it’s been her 6th year in Clairbourn. She loves Clairbourn, the teachers are nice, and every morning, Dr Patzlaff ( president of school) welcomes kids with her sunny and warmly smile. Clairbourn’s daily routine morning assembly is very special for kids to practice their speech in front of public, and Dr Patzlaff always encourages kids and gives them support to speak loudly and clearly. I love Clairbourn school.

Clairbourn is a wonderful school on a beautiful campus. The teachers and staff, as well as parents and families, are all very warm and welcoming. There are many opportunities for families to get involved, such as the book fair, sugar plum, special lunch and our own Clairbourn Families Association (CFA). Parent are always welcome on campus, and the children love seeing their mom or dad at school. It makes it special for the them to see their parents take the time and get involved. The students are eager to learn and are genuinely happy to go to school. It such a wonderful community and I can't imagine my children going anywhere else.
Clairbourn is a fantastic school. Both of my children attended Clairbourn School since kindergarten and I highly recommend it. The school emphasizes more than just strong academics - they help shape a child into a caring, socially well-adjusted and ethical individual. Class sizes are small, the campus is idyllic and some of my own best friends have come from the close parent community. The school welcomes parent involvement and there are many opportunities to participate, in whatever capacity you have. When my kids were in the younger grades, I especially loved the kind teachers, the emphasis on social development in addition to academics, and the fact that they had the opportunity to develop public speaking skills in morning assembly. They are fearless now when it comes to public speaking.I recommend you visit the school yourself, take a tour and talk to some parents.

I have seen evidence of strong academics and teaching children how to learn, instilling high moral standards to help young people become leaders and problem solvers, and to think independently and be creative.

Clairbourn is an amazing school and is every parent and child's treasure! Located in San Gabriel with a beautiful campus, Clairbourn offers a solid foundation, academically, socially and progressively all at the same time. I am an alumna and because Clairbourn has made such a significant positive impact on me, I knew I would only want my children to come to Clairbourn. One strong element that sets Clairbourn apart from other schools is that they position themselves to play a major role in the overall personality and character building of their students. I have observed at Clairbourn that social and emotional learning is emphasized as much as academic learning. I've witnessed my girls learning about values such as fairness, respect, and honesty as part of everyday lessons in and out of the classroom. Evenmore, they have trained my girls to pick up wonderful work ethics that I am most grateful because it is a habit that is not easy to acquire but Clairbourn does it so effortlessly. As evidenced Clairbourn has earned a great reputation and they have prepared their children academically very well by placing graduating students in the top high schools every year. I can not say enough good things about Clairbourn and what they have given to my girls and myself....a treasure!

Our daughter attended Clairbourn K through 3rd grade. + Campus is very nice / well maintained.+ Teachers for the most part are very good. Note - that a number of teachers are unfortunately leaving due to retirement or to dedicate time to raising their own children.- Donation "fatigue" - the requests for contributions are endless / throughout the school year. At a certain point it simply becomes too much.- Lack of diversity in the student body. I know this is in large part due to the demographics of the surrounding cities, but this is a double edged sword for the school. - While not pushed outside of the morning chapel, the association with Christian Science I believe hurts the school. They need to diversify their teacher base (which I believe they are trying to do).

My son attended Middle School at Clairbourn and I wish he had attended from an earlier age and I wish I had discovered this gem of a school for my older daughter. From the minute we stepped on the campus, everyone from administrators to teachers to parents were very welcoming and friendly. My son made friends right away despite coming in in Middle School when most of all the kids knew each other since pre-K. The whole community is very warm and the administrators are very concerned about including the parents in all activities. They certainly don't frown on parents on campus. On the contrary, they encourage it. My son struggled in the beginning academically but with help from the school, he was able to catch up and excel. Overall, it's a top notch experience for us!

I really enjoyed Clairbourn annual String Instrumemt and Musical Band performance. The students are talented in music and practice a lot. Thanks for the two music teachers.

A++++ The best decision my family has made!Clairbourn, Clairbourn, Clairbourn School....boy, oh boy, what more can I say about this great school nestled on the San Marino/San Gabriel border. This place is wonderfully located on Huntington Drive so it’s convenient to get to wherever you live! This school is very family oriented and a true parent’s dream come true. I love the fact they allow parents on campus because they are all about parent involvement and interaction with their own children. There is Chapel every morning where kids start their day with their parents! That’s the way it should be! When the kids see their parents on campus and how invested their parents are in their school, a light turns on in their head. In fact, they take pride and become more invested in their own education. Everyone wins! The moment I stepped on campus, I knew I wanted my children to be here! White picket fences, just a drop dead beautiful campus! Not to mention, smiling happy children and a well balanced life....an absolute delight! When my kids came to visit the school, they felt the same way I did!I’m glad to be here and that’s why we’re staying! Look for me when you visit! See you here!

Clairbourn is an incredible, caring learning environment in a beautiful setting. The community is cohesive and supportive. Students are encouraged to be their best, and they go on to excellent high schools. I strongly recommend Clairbourn as a first choice elementary and middle school!
