We were looking for a school where our daughter would learn to be a learner, and Red Bridge delivered. Oftentimes kids are prompted to ascend the grade level regardless of their ability to learn and their skillset. At Red Bridge, we experience a different approach - here, the kids learn the most important skill - the skill to love learning as a process and to approach learning in a methodical way, without the fear of the unknown. Our daughter is thriving in this environment. She's also gaining the confidence to know that she CAN learn, that she can advocate for herself, and that she can decide - on her own - when she is ready to move to the next level. The students learn to treat teachers as trusted resources in their learning journey, as opposed to figures of authoirty that must be at best - obeyed and at worst -feared.The teacher-to-student ratio is phenomenal. As parents, we are extremely grateful for the in-house afterschool care till 6 pm. We can see the love that shines through each teacher's eyes towards all of the kids at this unique institution.

We won the lottery with Red Bridge. There are schools with fancy gyms and bells and whistles, but the magic that happens at Red Bridge does not happen anywhere else. The pedagogy is phenomenal: it emphasizes autonomy and self-directed learning. My son is learning and thriving, and the social environment is so warm and welcoming. We are always astonished at the things he knows and is interested in.

My very shy daughter started at Red Bridge right before her 5th birthday, and today--2.5 years later--you wouldn't even know she'd ever been shy. She cried and clung to me at drop off EVERY SINGLE DAY of her preschool life, but on day 2 at Red Bridge that all stopped. I came from an academic family in an academically-driven community. What I always felt I lacked was that social and emotional growth. The appeal of Red Bridge to me was that all three spheres are equally important, and this is something my daughter needed. But this is not the only reason we love Red Bridge. The teachers are top notch, the curriculum is interesting even for the adults. I am always so impressed to hear what the kids are working on, and I delight in hearing about the day in my daughter's voice and through her eyes. There is no standard classroom. The students do not sit at desks all day. Instead, the students design their own schedules and groups are put together based on ability, not specific ages. Mixing up ages is a beautiful thing. It helps teach our kids to listen, to communicate, to empathize and to lead. It helps foster independence and confidence, which really is a necessary foundation for success. Red Bridge students are taught strategies to help them manage their time, their schedules and their emotions, tools which I see my own adult co-workers struggle with.Red Bridge operates differently than other schools, and this is why it might feel unfamiliar to us, the adults. However, kids intuitively take to it. This is how all schools should be.

We LOVE Red Bridge. We've been here since 2020 and have been deeply impressed and pleased. A few highlights: 1) school leadership is supremely competent. They know how to handle crisis, how to plan future, how to set a good work environment so teachers so that they can thrive and be creative, and how to build a healthy school community. 2) I feel like I can genuinely trust my kid in the care of this school. I feel relaxed leaving her in their hands because they have demonstrated over and over again that they are attentive, responsive, and wise in their approach to all kinds of issues, whether social or academic, that arise in the school. 3) The educational model of the school is incredibly effective. We were new to the concept of Autonomy Levels when we entered Red Bridge, but I am a convert. Because of the Autonomy Level method of advancement, our daughter has learned how to accurately assess her own progress, speak directly about her needs, and push herself to make progress. I work in adult education and am working on implementing the model in my own program because I have been so impressed by how it has worked for kids at Red Bridge. In all, we've been very happy here. Our child is getting the support she needs to grow emotionally, socially, and academically. 100% would recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about Red Bridge - the teachers, the school and the community. As a parent of a kindergartener, I've witnessed firsthand the impact it has had on my daughter. From the dedicated teachers to the vibrant community, every aspect of Red Bridge fosters a love for learning and school. She is getting instruction that is meeting her where she is at and its evident in her academic and personal growth. She is also growing in both independence and confidence and I think that is the ownership the teachers give students over their own learning, while helping to make sure they are still making grade appropriate progress.

We have loved Red Bridge, and most importantly, so has our daughter, who is in her second year. Our second child is thrilled to be joining her there next year. Our daughter has thrived both academically and as a whole person at Red Bridge, thanks to the amazing teachers, the school's overall approach, and the care and attention to each student. What has impressed us the most is how Red Bridge meets each student where they are, ensuring every child has a "just right" challenge in all aspects of their learning and development. Part of this is the fact they frequently assess students and adjust their groups by subject as needed. The Red Bridge community is also vibrant, with a diverse, caring, and committed group of families. Because the school is so strongly driven by philosophy and relatively new, everyone seems truly excited about the mission and positive about the future of the school. While it can be intimidating to join a newer school, there have been a lot of benefits too, such as incredible teacher-student ratios and the chance for the Red Bridge students to play a role in shaping the future of the school. Plus, while the school is relatively new, the founder Orly and the entire team have deep experience and expertise we trust.

Our daughter has blossomed at Red Bridge! Unlike traditional schools, it focuses on student agency, which is their ability to set and achieve goals. They progress at their own pace, not a pre-set schedule. Here's what we love most:- Mixed-age magic: Kids of many ages learn together. This has boosted our daughter's confidence as she helps younger students, and she learns from the older ones too.- Teacher teamwork: Our daughter works with a variety of teachers, each an expert in their subject. It's like having a whole team cheering her on! They even collaborate to brainstorm ways to help each student, which is how they figured out a way to support our daughter's reading.- Student-driven decisions: Our daughter gets to choose when she feels ready to move up to the next level. There's no pressure, and this past time, she decided to stay with her favorite teacher a bit longer, even though she could have moved up.- Focus on learning, not busywork: Forget about homework battles! Schoolwork gets done at school, and if something doesn't get finished, they can wrap it up at home.- One-on-one chats: Every week, our daughter gets a special 30-minute meeting with her teacher. They talk about everything - school stuff, social stuff (which can be a lot for a tween!), and anything else on her mind. It's like built-in therapy, and it's been amazing for her overall well-being.- Deep dives of fun: Three times a year, each Autonomy Group dives headfirst into a topic they choose for two weeks. It's a highlight for the kids and teachers, and parents can even get involved.Red Bridge is all about nurturing independent learners who feel supported and part of a community. If you're looking for a school that's different, focuses on joy of learning, and celebrates each child's unique path, this is the place!

We’re so impressed with Red Bridge! I have 2 kids at the school who have different learning styles, and both are thriving. The model of being taught at the level where you are keeps students supported and (or) challenged. When I visit students are calm, focused + intent. So much learning is happening. The teachers are incredible. They are exactly the type of brilliant, motivated, caring, curious people I want my kids to be with on a daily basis. I trust and admire the founder and teachers, and I see the proof of their emphasis on agency and autonomy in my kids daily. I was blown away a few weeks ago when I got to see 4th and 5th graders present on their research over the last few months. Each student developed their area of study, interviewed experts, developed data collection, put together a presentation, and presented their findings to all the parents, students and teachers. It was amazing! Students are learning executive functioning skills like setting goals, being responsible for tracking and developing work habits, public speaking and performing - they’re ready for the future. My traditional side that gets nervous about progressive school (are they learning what they need to learn?!) appreciates that Red Bridge does regular assessments to see where students are in relation to learners throughout the US - and to determine whether a student needs more challenge or support in a subject. It's helpful to see the tracking over time to see where there is growth. I highly recommend Red Bridge to parents who seek a rigorous but compassionate learning environment where children will learn facts but also learn how to learn, how to ask and answer questions, how to use tools available, how to work with others. I'm grateful to have Red Bridge as a partner in supporting my kids as they learn to navigate and contribute to the world.
