AltSchool is truly the most amazing school I have every seen! They look at educating children in a whole new way that combines technology with individualized attention and curriculum. I knew that I wanted a school for my little girl that would give her an educational experience that would enrich the rest of her life and encourage her sense of wonder in learning. AltSchool goes way beyond my expectations and dreams for her education every day! I love the individual work my daughter does with her teacher. She has a sense of pride in the things she's learning and creating. It is literally as though I am watching her blossom more and more every day! As an example, her teacher bought books just for my daughter and what she was working on. She was then given her own bookshelf. My daughter was out-of-her-mind excited! Just the fact that somebody (besides her mother) had really seen her and cared enough to get her a shelf full of books about things that she cared about filled her with pride and joy. Now she reads every day! This is where the 8-1 teacher-student ratio makes a big difference! I can not recommend this school highly enough!

I have two boys in this school who both love it so much that they express wishing they could attend school on Saturdays AND they ask me to put them into the after school program and offer to pay for it themselves! The teachers focus on igniting a passion to learn in children and they follow interesting subject matter. They use the children's interests to guide them and incorporate history, math, science and writing into the different projects that they tackle each week. The class sizes are small, with a student-teacher ration of 8:1 and I love that they have mixed age class rooms. This allows my kids to learn as quickly as they want and not limit them to what is taught at their grade level. My 5 year old would normally be in kindergarten, but since he can read and do math at the first grade level, he is encouraged to work at his own speed. The teachers also work on social growth, which includes conflict resolution, communication with their peers in times of conflict and learning to accept their own responsibility in the conflict. I could not be happier with my kids at AltSchool.
