Great School very active teachers the ratio of Hispanic to other nationalities is very high so there's a learning Gap there rather it be the kids not very good with English or parents but overall the school is awesome very close-knit small everyone knows everyone and they try really hard to accommodate all the kids . New principal but she's amazing too. Good school in all .

This school has become a joke. In the past few years there have been different principals as well as teachers. New teachers don’t seem to care about the kids. Since most kids are below on academics the ones who are above tend to be left out. If you or your child has a problem good luck getting it resolved. The principal is always “busy” and if you are lucky to reach her nothing gets done. There is always substitutes on campus that it’s seems like they have been hired since you always see them. Over the years this school has been going downhill and all they seem to care is who can help donate for “events” but yet there is never have enough ink. If teachers use their allowed number of prints homework gets put on hold. Most teachers don’t like to teach the correct material to students and just teach them the basics. When students reach middle school they are so far behind even though their grades at horton are above grade level. There is a PTA yet they always hold sales for the school or each grade level. Usually PTA takes care of all the fundraising but not at Horton. PTA only raises money for PTA and Horton staff hold their own sales. What’s the point if the school is competing with their own PTA. That’s the whole purpose of a PTA.
