Very high! We moved here from a small private school on the East Coast that we loved so much and expected transition to a huge public school to be awful. To our surprise it has been awesome. The teachers are funny, kind, accessible and supportive. She's learning so much in interesting cool ways. The technology available is great. There's a wide variety of extra on-site offerings from guitar to cooking to babysitting classes. The indoor/outdoor campus is something I never thought we'd get to experience (great for vitamin D in our screen focused world). My daughter loves the lunches (which I previously annoyingly had to make) and the physical ed is giving her a strong foundation of healthy habits. She runs more than anyone in our family now. The principle is friendly, present, and engaged with the students and activities and the school is built on rewarding good behavior including being respectful to others. And as a bonus, you can see the ocean from campus! We highly recommend shorecliffs for your child and are grateful we chose it for ours!

It’s bad here. The only “bright side” of shorecliffs middle school is the friends I have here, and even that gets stressful at times. There’s constant fights going on here, I believe there was one just yesterday, and nobody does anything to stop it. That’s my main problem with this place, the teachers and supervisors do absolutely nothing to help their students with anything. Not with learning, not with social matters, not when they’re getting bullied even to the point of black eyes. The disabilities thing too, there’s kids here with both mental and physical disabilities and no teachers do anything to positively effect them. I have one friend who was on crutches for a period of time and there were supervisors who were supposed to help him in the elevator every day and just forgot. So he just couldn’t get to lunch or couldn’t get to his next class.

Overall, I loved my experience at Shorecliffs. The teachers enjoy their jobs, and try to help every student in any way they can. As a former member of ASB, I would also highly recommend going to as many events as possible. By doing this, I was able to make the most of my middle school experience and form friendships that have (so far) lasted well into high school and will hopefully continue. In short, I highly recommend Shorecliffs as there are many opportunities for any time of person who may attend.

This is a pretty good school. Has lots of after school activitys and bake sales to raise money for the school or charitys. Only one problem there are fights constantly happening. Almost every week.

They let the bullies carry on bullying until victims are forced to defend themselves. Assistant principle Major Sanford should not be in the position he's been given he's very unprofessional.

My son is coming home from school happy everyday since school started. That is a good sign to me. My son also seems very happy with his teachers, especially Mr. Brown. Also, so far, I have gotten lots of help from the office staff.

Son can't wait to get to school everyday. Loves the majority of his teachers and loves how active PE is where they are always learning new activities. Only concern is there seems to be little homework required?? Front office is not friendly!! They never great you with a hello or smile. I hope they are more pleasant when kids come in. Overall we love this school.

As a past student, I have noticed that to a great extent that the teachers at SMS are fantastic ( of course there are few exceptions to this.). The staff and teachers try and succeed in the arduous task of preparing students for high school. Nice campus despite being not shiny and new like maybe VDM or even SJHHS' new campus. The music department is great to listen to (and perform in). The GATE program always seemed full and produced some of the brightest students in my classes at SCHS this year. Yes there are some problems with drug use at the school by the kids and yes they my curse but ask yourself this WHAT SCHOOL DOESN'T? Overall, this school has been the best from my perspective because it prepared me, educated me, made me strive for my goals, and SUCCEED! And this school can do the same for students who attend. Definitely not a waste of time if you let it sink in.

My daughter knows lots of kids here who have done drugs, the children cuss, and they are very unfriendly there. My daughter is practically getting down on her hands and knees and begging me to take her out of the school!
