I agree with the majority of the other reviews. I remember when Knollwood was a really good school but the only thing Ms. Martin has done is cause it to go downhill. Knollwood would greatly benefit from getting a new principal & assistant principal. They need to understand that families & students communicate with each other & that it is well known in the community that the principal is a gossip, lies, & has a big ego. My kids have had a few good teachers and a couple of terrible ones. I’m sure there has to be a high turnover rate dealing with this administration. Unfortunately, you can’t choose who your kids will be in a class with & there are some definite trouble makers at this school. I always hear good things about the bus drivers and cafeteria workers but I would highly recommend choosing a different school & requesting a transfer.

My children had some decent and nice teachers at this school but had some bullying issues. My biggest issue with this school is the principal. Mrs. Martin initially came off as kind but she is very deceptive and lied SEVERAL times. I’ve had multiple parents tell me that they’ve had the same issue with her. The assistant principal is rude but the secretary in the office was always kind. All of the good teachers there will probably be run off soon. Do yourself a favor and do NOT send your kids here!

There are significant issues with this school that need addressing, particularly when it comes to communication. Unfortunately, the principal, Ms. Martin, often seems to place the blame on the teachers rather than taking responsibility. However, it's important to highlight that the kindergarten teachers, Ms. Leonard and Ms. Hernandez, are absolutely amazing. They are highly educated, and their communication is excellent. They consistently keep parents informed and truly care about their students. If the rest of the school followed their example, it would make a world of difference.

This is an awesome school. The staff is caring and always helpful. The principal always treats others with respect and so does the teachers. The school is neat and clean too. Everyone cares about the students in this school.

Since day one principal Martin has ostracized myself as well as my son. She blatantly lied about busses not having seatbelts, consistently made my autistic son out to be the problem, and has even exacerbated situations that should have been minimalized. I have photo and video evidence of my autistic son, who is still fecally incontinent, not being changed or even promoted to change. He gets dropped off and picked up by me three days out of the week and almost every time he gets picked up he is covered in bowel movement and gauded from sitting in it for so long. He complains about not being given enough time to eat and has lost a significant amount of weight since the beginning of the school year. Between the lack of proper nutrition, lack of proper care for his disability, and other issues I have no problem saying that they are very negligent.

This school is a very horrible school, the teachers aren't very good at their jobs, one of my CHILDERN is in 5th grade and is having trouble with her math, she asks her teacher for help and she tells my child she will not help her to figure it out on her own. When my kids were going to China grove elementary an asked for help they got it... If anyone parent thinks about moving to Knollwood District I would Highly recommend thinking twice about moving to Knollwood...

This is a great school, the principal is great. My son has been there for kindergarten and 1st grade. And we love the school, the teachers really care and the PTA is always keeping the parents involved. They always have different events to keep the parents involved with the school or child's class.

My child will be attending in the fall in kindergarden and I am really terrified. I have started to hear negative things about the school and many of the comments I have read have been negative. I am really hoping for the best.

My daughter will be starting first grade at Knollwood this year and from all the reviews I've read I'm terrified. We have not started the school year yet but I have already applied for a transfer. We were denied because my reasons weren't good enough. It scares me how low the test scores and ratings are. We are new to the area and came from a wonderful school. My child is very smart and ahead for her age but I'm concerned that she may fall behind. I am a parent that is very concerned about my childs education. I hate feeling like I have sacrificed my child becauae of our decision to move. At this point I'm almost ready to quit my job, eat sugar sandwiches and hot water soup for dinner every night so that I can homeschool my child. I hope and pray that we will not have a bad experience like others have had. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I moved my children to this school right after christmas because me moved out of millbridge district. I very much regret changing them to this school. My daughter is in 5th grade and she is a very good student but has had nothing but problems from her teacher. My son is in 1st grade and we have had nothing but problems from his teacher also. My children were doing excellent at Millbridge Elementary and I hate that I moved them. I'm very much regreting it. My daughter had all "A" and now she is on the vurge of failing. My son's teacher also labeled him when he got to this school and I am very unhappy with the two teachers teaching methods and snootiness.
