My children attended this school for 2nd and 5th grade for the 23/24 year and I could honestly say it was one of our worst experiences with a school ever. I can’t speak for all the teachers but the ones my children had were just not it. They lacked the patience to deal with children and hardly received any homework throughout the year. We hardly knew what they were learning and when. Aside from these issues, the fact that they didn’t hold a “moving up ceremony” or “graduation” because “there was to many students” for the 5th grade was just mind-boggling whoever made that decision should be let go. All around the country people are celebrating 5th graders and we weren’t given that privilege. The school is extremely overwhelmed and the teachers could not hide it. There was no real attention paid to the children’s learning just constant messages from teachers complaining about their behavior and this sentiment resonated amongst other parents from the same classes as ours. If you are looking for a school that work on your child’s weaknesses and build on their strengths this school is not it.

If you’re one of the many people looking at this school because you’re considering purchasing a new build in the area, I’d purchase elsewhere. If I could go back in time I would’ve purchased a house anywhere else but here because of this school alone. We’ve been here 3 months and it’s been awful compared to where we were in Seminole County. I have 2 kids here and one does have a good teacher but the other has been nothing short of a nightmare. I’ve brought my concerns to the school and they don’t care, they tell me to address the teacher which I’ve already done. It gets me nowhere. I don’t even bother looking at my daughters grades anymore because they mean nothing. They have a hard cutoff you can’t pick your child up after 2:30 and before 3:15. The office staff will be rude if you need to get your child, even if for medical emergencies. It’s really none of their business why you need your child but if you say it’s an emergency, you have no clue what’s happening in that family’s life, your 2:30 rule is so irrelevant. The school is overpacked, it takes an hour to get your child if you even want to pick them up after school. When they announce field trips they think it’s fine to have an ETA over an hour earlier than what’s even feasibly possible. There’s absolutely no organization at this place. No extra opportunities for kids, no extra curricular activities, etc. It breaks my heart to see my kids who once thrived in school and loved school come home crying.

I don't think these metrics reflect the school since the pandemic. There is no way the teacher ratio is 16:1. The school is nice, everyone who works there is friendly but honestly they're overwhelmed by kids. There's too many students in the school for the kids to be having a positive experience. And it's really teacher by teacher if they're able to still provide that positive and fun experience for the kids. My 1st grader is in a "temporary room" outside of the school, the first set of them not the newer set of them. The school has so many kids they add more and more portables every summer. There's no plan for another school or fewer choice students or planning to keep up with all the building going on in the area. There's so many students now that lunch times start as early as 10 am (even though school doesn't start until 830 am). Everyone there is trying their best in an impossible situation where the school district isn't keeping pace with the population. Orange county is doing a much better time with adding school and staying at pace with new homes than Osceola is and NCES has really gotten slammed in the process.

If you're looking for a great academic source this is the school for you. If you're looking for something else, a school that motivates kids and parents, that brings up sense of pride, and cares about students motivation this is not the school. For the Honor roll students they just hand out a paper in their folders, No honor roll activities, no talent shows etc.. Sometimes I feel they just get to do the income producing activities. Staff is not friendly, from the cross lady to the office staff. :-(

The lack of communication between the parents and students is terrible. There is no support for the students and very few programs available. Everyone in this school system needs to come together. My child has been here for a year and this isn't anything like what I expected.

I only have good things to say, my son has been here two years. He wakes up happy and is excited to go to school and when he comes home he is excited to show me what he learned. I feel its a well rounded education and he is making strides. I'm a huge fan of the uniforms, it makes life easy.

I love Narcoossee Elementary! My children have been in this school for 5 years and have received an academically challenging education provided by a devoted, loving staff.

I can't say enough good things are NCES.My child struggled in school and we felt like we were at the end of the rope with schools in Osceola county. My child is going on their second year here and absolutely thriving and very eager to learn. The teachers and staff go above and beyond any school I have seen. The PE and art teachers are wonderful! They have such wonderful hearts for these kids, all their time they put in is truly appreciated. If you want your child to be challenged academically, disciplined in a loving way, and respected as a young leader then you are at the right place.

Very disappointed with the principal. Listens, but doesn't do anything about issues brought to her.
