  This school is outstanding. The children in our beautiful town are lucky to receive an education from dedicated teachers in a small friendly community. Safety and education a top priority for our town. I have had multiple students enrolled in this school. Each one received outstanding remarks when applying to private middle schools and high schools. I owe it all to the fantastic education received at Wandell. We are lucky to have this school in our amazing town!!!!!

  Wandell is an excellent school! It is unfortunate that some people are using this for him as a way to criticize the Board of Education before an election. This is disappointing, as it is not a reflection of the amazing school that Wandell is please disregard miserable people who choose to badmouth based on political nonsense.

  Wandell School is a public elementary school with a private school feel. The teacher to student ratio is very low allowing for differentiated learning within the classroom. Each of my three children have very different learning needs and abilities. The environment at Wandell is the perfect place for them to excel and reach their individual potential. In addition, all students enjoy state of the art technology, a robust art program, world languages, a dynamic STEAM program and much more! Wandell is a truly remarkable place for young students to begin their educational journey.

  I have been involved in the public school education system for more than 21 years. As counselor, teacher, administrator and now Superintendent and Principal of Wandell School, I have witnessed both opportunities and challenges in so many school systems. I have seen what works and what doesn't. Over the last 6 months I’ve had the opportunity to observe Wandell School before officially taking on my new role. I have never before observed the level of excellence and community partnership that I’ve witnessed in the last few months. Looking in from the outside has given me a new perspective on the Saddle River school district and the wonderful community of Saddle River who is truly dedicated to making students’ educational experience first priority. Everyone is committed to making Wandell the best it can be: teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, students, local organizations, residents, etc. Everything is implemented with the intention of creating a better tomorrow.   Wandell is a safe and caring learning environment that feels like a family. My 2 children had an excellent experience and both continued to Middle School where they are achieving high academic performance due to their foundation at Wandell. Wandell has a private school feel even though it is a public school.

  The bullying is really the biggest issue at this school. Staff needs to be trained in how to handle incidents. Children whose parents “donate” $$ are excused from bullying behavior. The great schools rating is not accurate. About half of my son’s 3rd grade class were told by the teacher to “opt out” of taking the PARCC EXAM. This was intentionally done to raise the school ratings. They really deserve a 6 or 7.

  Not very good. Dropout rate is at 40% from 4 years ago. Families are moving out of town or sending children to private school instead.

  Three years ago, I'd have rated Wandell a 5 star school. The past few years under a new school superintendent, it has declined in the eyes of our beautiful town. What was once a special place for students to receive a first rate education, has been reduced to just another public school. Nothing great, barely even good enough. New rules are made up as the situation arises and the rationale behind them is simply " because I said so".

  Wandell School has really got me ready for Middle school! Next yeat I am going to attend a school in Montclair,(very nice) and I am in the highests classes! I love the teachers, Mrs. Rauch, Mr.Stokes, Mrs. Wineburg, Mrs. Budds, Mrs. Garage and everyone there!
