Take your children elsewhere. Academic isn't a priority here. The new principal lacks socioemotional skills and she makes no effort in her accountability, kindness, and respect toward students, families, and staff. Often, she prioritizes herself above all and is very rude. We are sadden that many long-standing, spectacular staffs, teachers and families are no longer here. There's a communication gap between staffs, teachers, and students too. Students are scrutinized for being children. Lectures and lessons are little to nonexistent and students are expected to be self-taught through electronics. Find another school for your children, so they can truly thrive in their education without worrying that staffs and teachers are not present and dedicated to building our future communities.

This our home school, but my child started there early due to special needs. Every teacher we’ve worked with has been responsive and engaged. The principal has been involved and clearly cares about the school. She knew my child by name immediately and seems to be familiar with almost every student and parent she comes in contact with. We have been thrilled at the competency we’ve observed and the progress our child has made this year and recommend this school to any looking for a good school.

This school is an absolute gem! The whole school community is wonderful. Our son is in TK this year and is looking forward to Kinder next year. The teachers and 4th R staff are wonderful and the kids are sweet. Our son is happy to arrive and all smiles when he leaves. He is progressing incredibly well and excited about his new friends and all that he's learning.

We had a horrible experience here. My child told me everyday didn’t want to go to school, I should’ve listened because I realized he was being bullied. The principal is a nightmare to deal with and just rude. Save your child and find a different school to take them to. Any other school would be a better option because this one is horrible!

This was the most horrifying experience as parent who’s child is just starting school. Teachers are inexperienced, have no patience, and don’t do what’s best for kids. The principal is even worse than the teachers, she has zero problem solving skills, and is just there to earn a paycheck. Please do yourself a favor and never take your child to this school.

I have a 3rd grader and kinder going to Pony Express and have been pleased so far. The teachers are good and the new principle is engaged and approachable. The school strikes a good balance of achieving high academic standards without bogging kids down with tons of homework. Kids all seem to look out for each other and haven’t had any issues with bullying.

Disappointed in the direction the school is taking. We had a strong principal but unfortunately he moved to a new school. The new principal is inexperienced and it shows. Focusing on things such as what kids are wearing and what snacks kids are brining to share. Where’s the focus on academics and making up for learning loss from the pandemic and getting more students to state achievement levels? Disappointed to see what the school is prioritizing.

Our experience at Pony Express was tolerable. Sadly to say the commitment and dedication to our children's well being & education declined over the years. The interaction with parent's and their concerns became irrelevant. The kids became secondary to the Principal & some teachers. The laziest teachers are obvious and have no shame at being one. 6th grade GATE is a huge disappointment. That teacher has no business in a classroom setting. Her class was continued chaos from day one as her lack of leadership, consistency of teaching and discipline remained absent throughout the entire year. Bullying inside her classroom with several children continued without intervention. She ignored the disruptions daily. Her homework was non-existent for the most part. Her comparison to the other excellent GATE teachers is abhorrent. PTA is non-existent as well. Most of our PTA funds were always spent on school office needs. The family events FOR the children became secondary as well. Less and less PTA funds would be utilized to make the children's events memorable, as previous years had organized. PTA was bankrupted by the marquee purchased with PTA funds. As a result, our $900 budget for the 6th grade graduation, no longer existed. Parents were asked to line up on the sidewalk and was minimized to a walk through the parking lot..AND parents were asked for donations. Covid was their excuse for that ridiculous idea. As our own kindergartners and parents gathered for a traditional ceremony, our 6th graders walked the cement outside the school. In addition, other traditional graduations took place throughout our sister schools. It is such a disappointment to leave this elementary school with such feelings of distaste. This school is very clique orientated. They discriminate on volunteer parents. If you're vocal and present...it causes a hardship for them. Their preference is you're quiet and just live with any concerns you may have.

My children have been at Pony Express for the past 3 years. I really enjoy this school and feel they are lucky to attend. The staff is very proactive as are the office staff and Principal. The school is small and favor a close knit community type feel. Also the amount of homework and projects are just right for the kids so they don’t feel overwhelmed.

I am grateful for this school. There are a lot of quality adults at Pony Express. We have activities that welcome the entire family to participate. However, Surprisingly the PTA has very little to no participation. Although, Our school has a lot of good things, at the same time there is room for improvement. Parents & teachers alike.

My son has gone to this school for 4 years now, he is in the GATE program. We like the school and the front office staff. His teachers have all been good and organized.
