Overall we could not be more pleased, plus they really stepped up with the shut down during COVID 19 - the kids have not missed a beat - the school is done online with all their regular classes and teachers. The kids want to go back to school.

Brookfield absolutely did an AMAZING job getting virtual online learning up and running so quickly after the abrupt closure of schools because of COVID-19. We learned Friday afternoon the school campus would be closed and the kids heard from their teachers by Sunday with concrete game plans to continue learning and were in full-time online school by Wednesday morning. We've been thoroughly impressed by the fantastic organization and effort from all staff that was required to make it possible for the kids to not miss a beat with school even though our whole world seemed to change overnight. This is just another example of how Brookfield staff goes above and beyond expectations. We are so happy we chose Brookfield for our kids' education and are supremely confident we made the right choice. Our two kids have been with Brookfield for six years now and we couldn't be happier.

There aren’t many options in Sacramento. However, the quality of the education declined so much that lots of parents transfer kids to elsewhere in the recent years. Math and science are weak spots. The leadship is clueless of what they are doing.

This school completely turned my student around. He was spiraling with behavior problems because he was bored in school and there were too many students for the teacher to differentiate the curriculum. His behavior changed immediately at Brookfield. All the students are super supportive of each other and it is a remarkably diverse student body. All cultures and ethnicities are celebrated. The kids all learn a second language and have music. It’s just a fantastic school where kids can follow their passions.

Exceptional, this school was made for those children who constantly have a drive to learn and are self-motivated

This school fosters an unhealthy obsession with homework. They fully believe in working harder, not smarter. As a parent, be prepared to spend upwards of 2 hours PER NIGHT with homework. It is crazy.

I am an educator and parent with a child who was educated at Brookfield for a number of years. I finally pulled him out, after third grade. After a clear understanding of what I have seen in the education field and at this school, I no longer felt a strong enough cost benefit, of continuing at Brookfield. This school is good enough for skill and drill and meeting that first threshold of critical thinking, recall and memorization. Beyond that, I wanted to give my son the opportunity to put the pieces together and be able to graduate to a higher level of reasoning. I felt that that's where Brookfield fell short. I feel the methods at this school are not very progressive in that respect. Other friends with grown kids, have experienced the same. For primary grades, it was quite adequate, but it's necessary to matriculate them into a program that focuses on the bigger picture of analysis and creation. Think about seeing the forrest through the trees. At brookfield, you are focusing on the trees.

I can not say enough good things about Brookfield School. My daughter was a student there for three years. I served as one of the room parents during that time. I speak from experience. My daughter has gained an excellent head start at Brookfield. The foundation she has gained will serve her well and I could not be happier to have had her attend Pre-first to Second grade here. I am sincerely and forever grateful to Brookfield’s fantastic teachers and to Dr. Gonsalves for her leadership and devotion to the children’s education and success. We left the school in 2017 due to relocation to the East Bay area. We looked at seven private schools. Many of them did not hold a candle to what Brookfield offers here in Sacramento. Brookfield is simply an excellent fit for children who thrive in an academically rigorous curriculum.Motivated students learn to work steadily towards his and her goals. Time Management is an incredibly valuable lifeskill! Students at Brookfield are focused, attentive, respectful and keen to learn. The children take pride in their work and it shows. My daughter loved going to school here. I have a lot to be thankful for a parent. My daughter gained confidence by doing at Brookfield. My daughter is a poised confident public speaker, thanks to monthly declamations starting in her first year. She enjoyed working on monthly projects and become knowledgable about many topics from the work she did in class. Her French language comprehension and listening and speaking level is far ahead of her peers at her current school. Thank you to Madame Michelet for all of her work!! The social aspect of the school was wonderful. The parents are a great group of hardworking people who strongly believe in Education. The children stand out as they are kind, well-mannered, respectful and polite. There is an physical education program. My daughter was always active, running and playing games and exercising four times a week in PE. Children need to play! At Brookfield, students play hard and work hard. Lastly, I feel the school was a true gift to my family. We could not have asked for a better head start! Thanks Brookfield!!!

I had my child at this school specifically for the french language program. They say they're the best, but come to find out the elementary french instructor who also teaches at a community center, where I found out that she has very little pedagogical experience. She taught art classes in the past, but has no formal experience in language acquisition. This is a real area of study of which she has no real understanding. She is native french, so they hired her. I'm an English speaker but I don't quite understand the scope and sequence of how to best teach the language to others who aren't fluent. I expect more from a private school that is as arrogant as this one.

When you sign up for an accelerated curriculum, you are basically agreeing to become a part time homeschooler. That is how they keep up ahead with the public school peers. So be prepared for gobs of homework. There is no magical affect of Brookfield. It's all about limiting a lower achieving population so they can teach to a higher average. This is the benefit of all private education. Parental involvement is always key wherever you are. So, if you are a working parent who is busy around the clock, this will require additional effort from you beyond the other schools. I would have continued to keep my child enrolled here, if I felt that the administration was positive and professional. That's my reason for 1 star. Attitude is everything! After all, I kept up with the homeschooling responsibilities and had my kindergartener reading at 2nd grade level before the summer was out. No doubt, my child fit the academic profile that kept the school at the higher teaching average. The leaders of this school should think about changing their attitude and actually being customer focused and nice. What a concept!

Outstanding. I do not understand the reviews below that mention a lack of technology. Brookfield's coding program was recently used by Code Combat to promote their product! Not only are their plenty of computers, teachers use their TV's to mirror what is on their laptops and children have an extensive computer literacy education. I wonder about competitors leaving bad reviews on purpose. It is too easy when posters are anonymous.

Brookfield has the reputation of being the best money can buy. I promise you, it is not. The teaching methodology is antiquated (drill and kill, classrooms arranged in rows, workbooks, no technology). The leadership is unprofessional and condescending. The director of the preschool program is barely literate. Really, look elsewhere. Do yourself a favor.

Overrated and expensive. The feeling when looking at this school for my children is that kids are under tremendous pressure and there is a fake air of happiness. Almost steroid like. There is no solid technology component to this school. When speaking to the administrators about the plans to implement something, the response was that they integrated things like brochure making and power point presentations into some of the lesson plans. No access to iPads of computers other than the ones your child brings to class. You can elect to enroll into after school coding, but that is available at most private schools. You're not getting your money's worth here. They are big on rote such as the long in the tooth declamation activity. They say it's for public speaking but there are plenty of ways to reinvent the curriculum in a better way. It's a traditional school that is behind the times, holding a bit too long their old methods and former glory. In no way is this school progressive.

My little cousins go to Brookfield, they're always bragging about what they've learned and how nice their teachers are! So glad they got into this school!

Parents at BF are happy to report that their kids are 1-2 levels above their public school peers. Realize that in preschool and kinder, BF kids are in class for a lot longer than their peers, giving them a lot more instruction. 7 hours, while other schools are 4 hours. Naturally, children at Brookfield will be ahead and the school continues to educate based on that original jump start. There's no magic, just more time focused on academics. If you work with your child one on one, you can make up for what is lacking in a school that doesn't spend so much time building the foundation. Then, put them in a school with high testing scores. It really is about the lowest common denominator among the student population in public schools, so if you find one with a higher average or your child can be placed in a more appropriate class, you can achieve the same thing as Brookfield if you think this through and supplement. My family was treated very unfairly by the owners of this school. When a couple of parents felt reservations about the director of the preschool due to perceived mismanagement of the homework assigned in TK, it was the start of a cascade of hostility. We met with the admin and owners about this issue and also expressed some desires in regards to the curriculum. I hadn't asked them to change it, but wanted more experiential activities to engage the kids. 7 hours in class is a long time and we all want our kids to have a positive view about education. I believed this could be achieved with active, hands on activities to enhance the day to day. I asked other parents to participate in this dialogue because I assumed everyone would want this type of improvement. Never had I been disparaging, but productive and positive. This didn't matter and I was cast as a trouble maker. From there I was marginalized without even a conversation. These owners made an assumption that I was sowing unhappiness among those who were happy. The group overall, couldn't critically reason through the dynamics of my efforts, as conversations that they assumed took place, never did. When I disagreed about one word on the tuition agreement, which said you were responsible for paying the entire year, if dismissed for any reason at the discretion of the school, I received an EMAIL from the owner telling me to go elsewhere with my child.
