Lots of bullying and the school doesn't do anything about it. My daughter asked to change classes because the students are disruptive and the teacher can't get control of the class. Her request was ignored. The gate is supposed to be opened at 7:45am, but it's opened late very often. Several times they opened it at 7:53am and the kids didn't have time to eat breakfast before class at 8am. The teachers change every year so that says something.

Do not recommend this school. My child had the worst experience here. In kindergarten my daughter was bullied by a classmate. Once he poked her real hard and she cried in pain. The teacher saw the incident but did nothing about it, neither did she punish the child or comfort my daughter. my daughter cried for good 10 mns. Another time she was punished for playing with another kid because her parents didn’t want it. Strange request and the school entertained it. If her parents didn’t want it she should have been stopped why punish my daughter.

I love this school. It even has a IB program. And the kids who need extra help get lots of help and it is not overwhelming.

Location is great. Buildings are new but the experience in this school is not the best. Lost homework, accusations, bullying from teachers and assumptions based on your child’s race. If you can take your child somewhere else, do it. This school will affect your child’s self esteem and personal growth. There are amazing teachers but most are condescending and assume the worst and have zero accountability.

Wasn’t called when son was kicked in the genitals and put in a head lock. Staff always seems to throw it in my face that they have 800+ students whenever I have a concern about my son. I understand it’s hard to keep up with all the students but it just comes off like my son is just not important. Staff have not brought my younger son out to me for pick multiple times and receive condescending attitude whenever I experience rude behavior from staff

School is terrible concerning bullying. Having a situation now where I was the one that notified the school on the matter. Constantly giving the counselor updates on the bullying my child is enduring. She lied to me about the kids talking about their issues and allowed the bully to get the entire grade against my child. I will be contacting the school district immediately on the matter.

Had high hopes for this school, but it seems that there needs to be more staff/teachers who can need to focused on students who are doing below average work to improve test scores across the board.

It was fantastic 2 years ago but the school site is too small for the major growth of students.

We love Paso Verde School and feel very fortunate our child is able to attend here. The families are involved and friendly, the students love the learning and the IB, and the school staff loves our kids-it shows everyday. Can't wait for our new building to open!

My daughter is a 2nd grader here and I love Paso Verde. The principal is engaged and really cares about the kids. They have dealt with issues in the classroom well and really worked with us when our daughter was struggling in first grader. There is a great sense of belonging at this school and I'm eager to see how it grows as we move to a permanent site. This is a newer school, but they are making great strides in creating a culture of learning and support.
